Clockworkmod issues - Motorola Droid Bionic

I am having trouble with ROM Manager. I have been making backups before and after making any changes, but I can't find my backups anywhere. They don't show up in the app or by using CW Recovery. I can't find them using Root Explorer either. I have looked in SD and SD-Ext in the Clockworkmod/backup folder. I have a few older backups, but they won't restore. I get an MD5 mismatch error. Has anyone else seen this?
Just realized that when the backup first starts it says
Couldn't open directory.
No files found.
then it proceeds to cat like it's performing a backup.
Never mind, needed to check "external storage"

ROM manager issue

I'm trying to backup my current ROM
I tried this http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/0...nandroid-backup-and-clockworkmod-rom-manager/ and it looks like it went through, but when I double checked and went back into Manage and Restore Backups there was nothing there. Then I went through Recovery into the advanced option and I got a message saying that there were no files there either. So It seems like if I follow the steps I don't get a backup file made. For the record I have no problems with Titanium Backup.
Have you tried do a backup directly through CWM, not the ROM Manager?
Via file explorer you should find your backup on your internal sd in clockworkmod/backup/

I did it directly and that seemed to work. After I did it that way there was a file in that backup folder.

[Q] Error merssage while restoring Nandroid backup

Can anyone tell me what, if anything, I should do about this error which appears after restoring a Nandroid backup? The phone seems to be working ok so far. I've done Nandroid backup and restore several times without errors before but obviously something has changed.
Error while restoring /sdcard/.android_secure!
/tmp/recovery.log was copied to /sdcard/clockworkmod/recovery.log. Please open ROM Manager to report the issue.
I cannot see any file called "recovery log" in the /sdcard/clockworkmod folder. There is a file called "recovery-update.zip".
I tried uninstalling/re-installing ROM Manager and then making and restoring a new nandroid backup but the result was the same. The backups are to the internal sd card.
I'd be grateful for any advice. I tried trawling around the forums for some hours as this seems to be a widely discussed issue but cannot find any clear explaination of the cause or fix.

do you use an external sd?
check if there is a clockworkmod folder in that.
Yes, there is a Clockworkmod folder on my ext/sd card. I wanted to do Nandroid backups there but the option to Use External Storage is greyed out on the settings page.
Right now, the only Nandroid backup I have in on the int/sd card

which settings page ?
in CWM you need to go to backup & restore and choose backup (this will backup to external SD).. there is another option to select backup to internal SD
I'm using ROM Manager (Premium) and under the settings there's an option to use external sd card but it's greyed out.

Use CWM directly to make backups to your desired storage
Can you tell me where to get CWM? I can only see ROM Manager on the Google Play site. I understand that RM is really just a front end for CWM but I'd have assumed the functinality would be the same.
Thanks again for the reply
if you are having hydracore the cwm will be already there. It's a recovery. you need to boot into recovery mode.

[Q] Restoring from clockworkmod?

I can't seem to restore my backup back to my phone...
My backup files are inside both the internal and the external SD cards. In both cards there's a folder named clockworkmod, which has a folder named backup inside, which has a folder named with the timestamp (Apr-19-Fri.19.44 for me). In the timestamp folder there are the backup files.
But, it says that no backup files are found when I tried to recover using ROM Manager, the S3 Mini Toolkit, and from the TWRP recovery.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

You are obviously using CWM to make that backup. TWRP will never restore it. Just re-flash CWM and you are good to go
I made it with the toolkit... So I'll just flash the CWM 6.x.x.x recovery to my phone and restore from my phone's recovery mode?

clockworkmod nandroid backup destination folder?

I just noticed that my nandroid backups made from CM recovery (v6.0.4.7) end up in /data/media/clockworkmod/backup...
This is eating up my /data partition and finally the backup stops with an error. After booting, I see the partition is full and I get a lot of error messages. I can recover from that by deleting the partial backup files with ES Filemanager in root mode from /data/media/clockworkmod/backup.
In the recovery menu I see /sdcard as the destination. Looking with ES Filemanager at /sdcard, I find the correct location for the backup files in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/... So it seems to me that there is no problem with /sdcard. At least not visible by ES Filemanager.
What happened here? Wrong link? Bug in CM-based Recovery v6.0.4.7 or in the last tenderloin nightly I have installed?
This is an HP Touchpad with 10.2-20140412-UNOFFICIAL-tenderloin. I usually do weekly backups before I install a new nightly. So, with 10.2-20140405-UNOFFICIAL-tenderloin the backup still worked fine. Unfortunately I deleted that older version, so I can't go back and check.
I am not sure where the problem is. I can do online nandroid backup and point my backup to the right location. But with CM-based Recovery v6.0.4.7 I can't change the backup destination.
Any pointer is much appreciated.

MD5 mismatch on backup

I made a backup with ROM manager yesterday, and I need to restore it. Unfortunately, when I try to restore it I get an error message: "MD5 mismatch".
Is there any way I can restore it?
Problem mis-stated, and fixed
Opps! After further analysis, it turned out that the problem I asked about was not really the problem I was having. I learned something new, so I am posting it here.
I had copied my good backup into the root of my external SD card, and ClockworkMod was not finding it. Apparently, ClockworkMod looks in this directory:
/clockworkMod/backup
It was finding an aborted backup with a bad MD5 in that directory. I put the external SD card in my computer, and copied the good backup into the directory above, re-inserted the external SD into my phone, and I was able to restore my system.
