[Q] Odd camera noise - Motorola Droid Bionic

I was wondering if anyone else hears a weird clicking sound when they close the camera after taking a picture. It appears to be louder if the camera has to focus more, so i don't know if it's just the camera resetting itself. My Bionic is bone stock.

My Atrix 2 also clicks when I close the camera app. I believe the A2 and the Bionic have the same hardware and software. I believe that may be it resetting or going to a neutral position. My Nikon does the same thing when you hit the power off button. Goes to a shut down position.

Locking the lens to avoid damage, most likely. Not dissimilar to how a hard drive will park its heads when it's shut off.

HTC One Camera Click

Hi Guys/Girls,
Some times when I open the Camera app I hear the back camera click. It does not always happen but it's something I've never had with a phone or any camera for that matter. Its the same noise as if you had tapped the back of the phone and the camera rattles.
Anyone know what that could be?
I have both of those sounds (clicking when opening the camera app, and a slight rattle if I tap the back of the phone around the camera lens,) and always wondered about them too.

Mine only clicks about 10% of the time. Maybe the lens is out of alignment and the focus motor is snapping it back.
so...should i be worried?
So should i be worried about these clicks? or should i rma it?

No worry htc camera move. So the lense is adjusting.
Tap the screen while in camera mode and see if that is the same sound.

[Q] possibly loose camera lenses?

Hi
I don't know if this is normal so I had to ask.
When I tap the back camera or around it sounds like something is loose. I don't have camera issues, but it doesn't sound normal and it bothers me because I can hear it when I throw the phone on the bed from a short distance.
Are you experiencing this?
Yes, those tik tik what you hear are the lens. They moving forward and back, I think around max a 1mm, the system is electromagnetic to let them move forward and back to get focus, zoom some kind of stuff like that.
I don't remember if the system working exactly like that but close.
Mystery solved as I have it too, all we have, who don't have it do not have good ears..lol..

Camera Issues.

I'm having an issue where the camera won't focus. I have to literally tap the side hard and the phone will focus again. Does this sound like a ois problem?
Does it focus if you move away from the object you are trying to focus on? If so it's just a software issue with the nexus 6. It happens on my device and I have heard about it occurring on many others as well.
It's an OIS problem. You can get a warranty replacement for that. I had issues with the Note4 which also has an OIS. Moving parts can fail more that more non-moving parts.

Slight rattle when tapping screen, anyone else?

I got my crystal pro on Sunday, overall really happy with it (will be even happier when I get .124 and the improved AOD!) but am noticing a very slight rattle when tapping on certain parts of the screen.
It only happens when I tap the top right part of the screen, it is very minor but is certainly not consistent with the rest of the display. It is the part of the screen that will be sitting adjacent to the rear cameras so maybe it is the camera mechanism? Probably normal but I am kind of OCD about this kind of stuff.
Anybody else noticing this on their pro?
Same here next to the cameras. I thought it's the OIS but my first p30 pro (display issues) didn't do that or i never noticed it!

I can confirm that it is there, and if you tap and listen closely, the sound is originating from the back, so it's most likely the OIS in the cameras.
But it isn't an issue for me, as you have to use some force while tapping it to hear that rattle, using the phone normally with slight taps like I use every other touchscreen device, I can't hear any rattling sound whatsoever.

Question Excessive hardware sound when flipping the phone

It's been two days since I started using this phone.
Today, I can hear an excessive sound coming either from the camera lens or the front speaker. {Noise heard better from front side of the phone}
This happens when you try to shake or flip the phone even gently. I know usually the camera lens on every phone makes a little noise.
But this is extreme. It's almost like there's a tiny piece of hardware broken inside and it's moving even if you shake the phone gently. I either did not observe this issue or it wasn't there for the first two days.
Can anyone confirm if it's the same?

Yes, even in mine there is a kind of muffled noise
Hi guys.
It's from the cameras. If you try this with the camera app open you will see that the noise stops.
Optical Image Stabilisation most likely. Camera lens can move to handle shake.
I don't hear anything noticeable from mine. Just a VERY slight muffled noise if I shake it while holding the lenses right up to my ear, but nothing I would notice if I wasn't specifically trying to find a noise.
