Out of space? - Motorola Droid Bionic

I have been trying to download some games from the Android Market. After downloading, and starting install, a notication comes up saying there is insufficient space to install. I just checked under settings/storage and it says I have 3.27 gb left for applications.
I am running the most recent th3ory rom, updated/leaked android market apk, and I have the radio update. Any ideas?

Just start over it usually sticks on the second try. Known bug to irritate the hell out of us anything

This actually happens on other android devices too, not just the Bionic.

Just do the download again or reboot and try.

What about if after reboot still have the same error but only on one app maildroid.
All the other apps I can install fine.
Any suggestions?
thanks

Clear cache from play store and try again

Does it save your apps to internal storage or SD card?

Dont know why but if you download Astro file manager from the market, go into preferences and enable browser download it should work.

That seems to be working. Thanks for the help. Download at 6% now. Before I was getting the download failed message immediately.

Try using a different browser. For some reason I cannot download anything with the stock browser, so I use Dolphin HD. It's a free app in the market, and it is so much faster than the stock version.

Downloading with Firefox will work, but yea the above suggestion with ASTRO definitely works too.

Don't get me wrong, I love firefox, using it right now to post from my PC. But I hate it on the mobile version. It was slow as hell even on my Bionic compared to stock browser.

cannot make market purchases after installing R3 Blurred V1.8

i installed R3 blurred 1.8 rom last night, and i cannot "buy" anything on the market now. i can install free but not buy, i have cleared data and cache 2 times and still get and "error" it says "an error occurred, please try again"

It has to do with the newer market (dubbed ICS market)

Download appextractor from the market, and revert back to the older market. That's what I had to do and it works fine. Minus the obvious problems with 3.1.5

You should change the title of this thread, as it implies this is an issue with R3blurr3d - when in fact it's a known market issue that already has open threads.

[Q] why does my xda app indicate its not installed?

OK did the forever root & updated to .893 then installed Liberty ROM. I did this to get new radio and kernel since my 4G hanged and market was acting up. I was on theory rom 1.7 and 1.8. Seems that on all custom roms I install, my xda app would uninstall or vindicates its not installed a reboot seems to fix sometimes not all. And if I try to install android is says I am out of memory, but that is not the case, I have over 2GBs of available space on internal SD. What is going on? Anyone having the same problem?

.894 keeps trying to install - need to stop it

.894 keeps trying to update to my device and fails because of forever root. I know I don't want to update, but I need to find a way to stop this notification from popping up. Does anyone know a way short of unrooting and letting it update?

If you want to keep root, I wouldn't. But if you really need to, take mount_ext3.sh and remove the lines of code forever root added.
Delete the files from the cache folder.

I think you need to use root explorer to be abler to see them there is two files in the cache folksy you will need to remove, both saying something about .894, I had the same issue with .893, removed those files and it stop annoying me.

Ok, found an .apk in there that I deleted. The inly other file was what looked to be a log from .893
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
I deleted it and it is still trying to update.

Reboot after you delete it.

You need to open root explorer and then go to /system/etc/security rename the file otacerts.zip to otacerts.zip.bak and then reboot your phone and that should do it. Hope this helps
If your stock .893 not rooted what does .894 do for you

Kill your root, that's all it was released for
If your not rooted it probably closes the exploit

Didn't work. Still trying to update. I don't think it ever installed it, it keeps trying to download it. Looks like I may have to sacrifice root. Any other ideas?

Titanium backup and freeze updater. Defrost when you need it.

It comes up as download of update failed. It is annoying because it will break into tasks. Say you are shooting a video, it will pop in and stop the recording.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Did you delete both files related to .894 in the /cache folder?
The only things in /cache is downloadfile.apk, lost and found and a folder names recovery that has a logfile in it. I tried deleting downloadfile.apk several times and it keeps coming back.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
That apk shouldn't be there. At least I don't have that. Try renaming it to .bak on the end and rebooting.

I checked for downloadfile.apk and it stayed gone this time. It still tries to update. Will probably come back after reboot.

Download and install the APK, it should work. It will be an older verison of the Market but after it updates a few times it will be the Google Play Store.
Here's a copy of the APK of 3.5.16, the current version of Google Play Store

Thanks guys. I got it back. Won't happen again. Im backing up everything.
