OK did the forever root & updated to .893 then installed Liberty ROM. I did this to get new radio and kernel since my 4G hanged and market was acting up. I was on theory rom 1.7 and 1.8. Seems that on all custom roms I install, my xda app would uninstall or vindicates its not installed a reboot seems to fix sometimes not all. And if I try to install android is says I am out of memory, but that is not the case, I have over 2GBs of available space on internal SD. What is going on? Anyone having the same problem?

I have found that in my recent installs of more than one rom, my market will not download apps. I installed ExEn Hero, AOSP 2.3.3, and Kifno's gingerbread sense. They all say downloading, then unsuccesful and quits.
I have tried using different versions of gapps. I have also done the cache and data clearing of download manager and market. I deleted the .android-secure file as well.
Nothing seems to work. Can any one help?

Puzzled ex en hero???? And what rom are you on now??? What recovery??? What kernel?? What version of gapps?? This might get you help faster. Also what were the exact steps you took to end up were you are now?? And what android secure file are you referring to??

That's the reason I removed anything gingerbread from my phone. All my nands were doing this. After removal, I restored nands and reinstalled the roms over top. Bam! Everything is fine again.

Running CM7 RC3 Now. Seems that I have issues when using fireat's mod. If I don't install it, everything works. Not sure how it's related. Without fireat's, market works

Oh yea, CWM 3.0.0.5. No kernel, just CM7. Going to try sobe's kernel next

If you run firerat mod you have to do the market fix. It is on the firerat thread.

I had the same problem before and what I did was re installed the market and it started working fine. Also consider editing your market in the build.prop file so it shows up as the droid x market. This will end up showing you all of the protected apps and such look at this link

The new market force closes everytime i try to use it. If i try to unistall the updates itll just reinstall moments later. Clearin cache under manage apps doesnt solve the problem neither does wiping from recovery.... im running CM 7.1.0 RC1.........HELP ME PLEASE

Not sure what the issue is, but I was using CM 7 with the new market, so I don't think its a Rom/market issue
Yea same here and it blows.....anyone know of some better roms or somethin? I usually dont use any besides CM

I upgraded my cappy to cm7 rc1 and was unable to install apps from the new market. It was slow also, I ended up uninstalling the market update and everything was fine.

Did you download Google apps to.go with Cyanogen? They are both seperate packages that have to be flashed one by one.

So i have looked for handcent sms and go sms in the market and they do not appear...i got a link to the app in the market and on the top there is a bar that says the app is not compatible with your device? Is this a known issue?
I know there's been some market issues with liberty but I've been using go sms with it. I haven't had to download it since its been in my backup but it works fine, i'd assume if you can get the apk and side load it you'd have a work around.

i install it using titanium backup too but when i go to the market i am able to find it and actually just installed the 11/1 update. (Go SMS)
The latest Liberty fixes Market issues supposedly.

yes but you should be backing everything up so i don't see why it matters. backup, wipe, flash, reboot, restore, reboot, and youre right back where you left off.
Edit: I think he has a patch in the thread as well if you really don't want to flash the new ROM, but like i said its pretty quick and painless if you use Titanium
Alright so recently, the build of AOKP I've been using has been getting exponentially worse and worse. I decided to do something about it, so I downloaded the newest version of Safestrap and AOKP, installed the new Safestrap, and then did all that other fun stuff. I boot into recovery only to find that the menus don't show up no matter what I do. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Safestrap and also rebooting the phone multiple times. Anybody know how to fix this?

There are different versions of safestrap. One for running with stock GB and one for ICS. You should update your stock system to ICS first then use safestrap 2.0.
Forgot to add that I'm on ICS already, sorry about that.

Like most people, I jumped at the chance to have Google Now w/ voice on my HTC Vivid running ICS. Worked well until the newer version came out which was JB only. I got tired of the 'newer version is available' nag so I removed Google Now using StockGoogleSearch.zip but apparently it left behind voicesearch.apk version 3.0.1 which would force close. I downloaded version 2.1.4, replaced it in the system/app folder and changed the permissions to be the same (rw user, r system) and it works well until I reboot. When I reboot it re-installs version 3.0.1 and I have to install 2.1.4 and it works again. I know I'm missing something obviously but I don't know what. Any ideas?
Just reflash your ROM without wiping should remove whatever Google now added

Just running the stock rooted ICS Rom. Would this still work?

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you have to run an RUU
You know you could have just swiped away the card notifying you of the new version, and it wouldn't have nagged you anymore. As far as removing it, you should have made a backup before flashing it, as is advised multiple times in the OP of the Google Now for ICS thread... just flashing whatever ROM you're running should get you back, but you may end up having to full wipe/reflash
