[Q] SMS Apps not compatible with liberty rom? - Motorola Droid 3

So i have looked for handcent sms and go sms in the market and they do not appear...i got a link to the app in the market and on the top there is a bar that says the app is not compatible with your device? Is this a known issue?

I know there's been some market issues with liberty but I've been using go sms with it. I haven't had to download it since its been in my backup but it works fine, i'd assume if you can get the apk and side load it you'd have a work around.

i install it using titanium backup too but when i go to the market i am able to find it and actually just installed the 11/1 update. (Go SMS)

The latest Liberty fixes Market issues supposedly.

yes but you should be backing everything up so i don't see why it matters. backup, wipe, flash, reboot, restore, reboot, and youre right back where you left off.
Edit: I think he has a patch in the thread as well if you really don't want to flash the new ROM, but like i said its pretty quick and painless if you use Titanium

[Q] Best way to back up?

I flash a lot. I'm getting sick of manually reinstalling apps. I used mybackup pro but it seems like it would forget apps. Right now I'm using AppBrain. Is there any way to back up all apps then reinstall them from the back up and have them run like nothing ever happened?
android should install them automatically once you link your phone with your google account. Other then that not that I know of, unless you move all apps to sdcard.
I think it only does that on the stock rom.
nope, did it for CM6 and Enomthers rom (sorry i cant remember how to spell it)

This just flagged random apps of mine for auto update that I wasn't planning to update.
Like google voice. Beware!
Amazing otherwise!

I actually didn't upgrade market this way but it got updated on it's own but reverted back to original market because it wouldn't let me upgrade or download new apps it would say it download it but it would never install them. So for now I'll be sticking to the old market. In case you want the old market pull it from stock rom or a rom like plainjane and then replace it and delete the market updater this will let you keep the market without it getting updated.

Did you try restarting after installing the new market? I was having trouble with it as well, but after a restart it was able to download and install apps again.

I noticed that too; I think it automatically flags all Google apps for auto-update.
I downloaded the Eris Market Fix from the market and ended up getting the 2.2 market. and check out androidvideo.net on your android. this one of the best sites ive seen
Hey I'm having a problem installing this.

I'm on xtrRom 4.6. I downloaded the file and it works great! The only problem is that I can't get my downloads to show up when I try to access them in the market. I have already tried a reboot. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks,

I guess that there are no other ideas. Can anyone describe the steps to take in order to get the regular market back?

I think there is a way to use your AppBrain account to restore all of your apps onto a new phone... no data, though.
I think most phone solutions (TiBU for example) require root to backup your applications.
But.. if you had Froyo the market remembers the apps you downloaded and you could've re-downloaded from the market
Of course... you would then have to root/download a leaked Froyo ROM that didn't currently toast your Android ID.
...... shoot just check out app-brain - if that doesn't work I think you'll be hosed.. just write down what apps you downloaded and re-download when you get your new phone.
Thanks for the advise...I'll try

have you tried MyBackup Pro from the market?? its $4 i believe and you can backup w/o having root, although if you do decide to root it has more advanced backup features

Android market trouble HELP!!

The new market force closes everytime i try to use it. If i try to unistall the updates itll just reinstall moments later. Clearin cache under manage apps doesnt solve the problem neither does wiping from recovery.... im running CM 7.1.0 RC1.........HELP ME PLEASE

Not sure what the issue is, but I was using CM 7 with the new market, so I don't think its a Rom/market issue
Yea same here and it blows.....anyone know of some better roms or somethin? I usually dont use any besides CM

I upgraded my cappy to cm7 rc1 and was unable to install apps from the new market. It was slow also, I ended up uninstalling the market update and everything was fine.

Did you download Google apps to.go with Cyanogen? They are both seperate packages that have to be flashed one by one.

[Q] Galaxy S Messaging app missing

I was using Titanium Backup Pro and was integrating updates into system apps and i lost my messaging app. Titanium backup says it is still installed but i cant open it and i cant uninstall it either.
I'm currently getting by with Handcent but i want my stock app back.
Can anyone help me get my messaging app back or do i have to stick with Handcent?
Any help is appreciated.
I'm using a Rooted Samsung Galaxy S GT-I1900M
Android Version 2.2
Rooted with Superuser
(hope all this stuff helps)
Only thing I think of is flash a new rom or reflash the one your using and your messaging app should show up

I would have tried that but i'm scared ill brick my phone. i have bad luck when it comes to doing things like this. i pink screened my iPod once.
Download a custom ROM, download "File Manager HD" from Market, enable root access in the settings and push Mms.apk from Custom ROM Zip into system/app

If i do that will I lose any of the data on the internal SD? I was thinking of doing factory reset but I'd lose all the stuff on my internal SD
Sent from my GT-I9000M using xda app-developers app
Factory reset only deletes the apps, system and accounts. If you are still on Froyo, I'd recommend you to flash a Gingerbread ROM, or even an ICS one. You can backup your apps with some file managers too, but you'll lose all user data from them.
But as long as you don't wipe "sdcard" you'll keep all your music, photos and documents stores on your internal memory, even after dozens of flashes.

Do you think you could help me through the flashing process? Or send me a link to a guide I could use
