Hey guys. kind of funny to wake up and know that i was right about the whole 4g working on a 3g device. Either you guys just want to believe it sooo bad that it clouded your judgments and made you assume you had 4g? Funny thing is, would you expect to have 3g on your old Nokia 3200. I doubt it. Same theory. Cannot, and will never be able to carry a 4g signal, on a non 4g device. EVER. Lol. Good one on their part, but seeing as there such "big bad Dev's" they shouldn't have done that to the community like that. I mean people follow you guys habitually, and it could have messed their phones up. Just saying. Anyways, here are some of my favorites from the madness. Peoples personal experiences with the "super-d-2G-day". Not April fools. BenD-fools day.
1.)Bwinger79 wrote - "I can confirm that this is working on the T-mobile USA network. My average DL speed was roughly 550k/sec and now its well over 1200k/sec.....and thats on a T-Mo tower that has more than your average amount of connections. Cant wait to get home and test this on a tower with less traffic" - Classic. Megaspeeds with 2g, naaaa.
2.)Proxin wrote - "You must install adb to have the proper permissions set for your hardware (usually your hardware only supports 3g/edge speeds for data, but this patches the connection output so that it tells the phone to allow 4G)." - Ahhh, the scientific approach to believing in something false.
3.)Jook11 said - "eah, I had a 4G symbol for a few minutes when I flashed this but speed test looked more like EDGE. anyway the 4G icon went back to 3G before long and I havent seen it again." - A firm believer due to the icons. Haa.
4.)BBuchacher said - "the speed is not up to 4g or sometimes its worse than 3g, but you ARE accessing a 4g network, the speeds will be improved as we work more on the code" - Adding fuel to the fast spreading fire.
5.)Cal-El wrote - "I only have the 3G icon but man my downloads and page loading are really flying and not placebo maybe its faster but really noticable. I belive it. " - This has to be the best one. SMH. "I believe it"
Okay guys your turn. I wanna see what your favs are. Here is the link to the post.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656499&page=2
lol a whole bunch of futhus
Lol, I wasn't even in on the whole conspiracy thing. Funny how people just believed a non-dev who told them to install adb.apk while in airplane mode.

My phone is already bricked, testing this file.

Downloading this using my Atrix as a wifi hotspot at work = TORTURE. 15hrs left, according to Chrome. Hahaha.
I'm going to be refreshing the begeezus out of this thread today.
If anyone has this that can remirror. Its painfully slow.

While I agree, I'm stuck at work, so I just VNC'd into my home comp and set up the file to download. Home comp says it will take 2 hours to download, so by the time I get home I can check it out and play around with it. **** just got real. Let the true hacking begin.
Oo someone beat dg on the upload?

it will work with any rom and any device!

Just installed it. Looks nice with the doomed theme. Good job man.
...fighting ninjas at night, talkin' about this and that.
Hey give the man some feedback people, feedback helps him improve his theming in the future, tells him if there is anything to add or change and feedback lets devs of roms/kernels/themes etc know that people appreciate the work and encourages more development. Who wants to release things of no one ever comments about it? Tends to make a guy not want to work as hard. Everything you guys get for free we spend hours of our personal time, neglect certain things (depends on the level of geek) and deal with hair pulling frustration. Feedback keeps us going, a mere thanks great job can do wonders to let a person know his efforts arent in vain. Even negative feedback is better than none.
This goes for all threads of contributors.

The only thing I see so far that the Doomed theme could use is the scrolling bar could be the same blue color that's throughout the theme.

I don't use the stock music app since I run Pandora and Google music. But I'd love a themed stock dialer/contacts. I really liked the dialer that was in the Thrill Seeker ROM...it kinda looked like the dark MIUI dialer.
I'll shoot you a text. Black and red with some blue and white accents/highlights.

im beginning to think you drive a beat up, hole in muffler missing the hood t-bird and wear motley crue tshirts while swilling busch on your porch bbq'in in a barrell. so what does squirrel taste like?
Take THAT
...fighting ninjas at night, talkin' about this and that.
Oh snap!
Sadly my mint condition 6 speed fuel injected V8 1987 Firebird was ran over (literally) by a mullet sporting, South will rise again t-shirt wearing, older teenager when he suddenly switched lanes without any warning in his early 90s model F350 with a crazy lift kit. I loved that car. Even though it was pretty trashed and nonfixable, I actually drove off. He did not, my car was just low enough and his lift kit just high enough that I snapped his axle when he decided to drive up on my hood. Sad part is he just got it out of the shop for engine work and a sparkling new paint job.
So now I drive a Buick Park Ave with way leaned back seats so I can feel the ambiance as the speakers beat.
I wouldn't know how squirrel tastes. I have the shakes from too much Colt 45 and so I can't keep my crossbow straight. Thems some fast critters!
I recently flashed the adrenaline shot with the other zip that helps the ram at the same time then right after I flashed ice cream kangwich and I have really crappy service. I'm in my house here I usually have 1-2 bars and it keeps going between 0-1 bars constantly. I was wondering if any of the zips I just flashed could have messed with my signal at all? Thanks ahead of time for any help!!

My suggestion would be to get rid of the scripts. A lot of people like these scripts but it's been my experience and a lot of others that these do nothing but cause issues. I used to use scripts but quickly found out that my phone performs a ton better without them. Some stuff like the 3G tweaks and some build.prop tweaks are ok but it really seems like these other scripts are just trouble and in some cases, don't even make a difference.

I definitely agree with this, I was running V6 (ik it is built in but was running a new version) and it seemed great at first then seemed to bog the system down. I uninstalled and it still didnt seem right, just wiped cache and reflashed GV and seems to run great so far.
Probably has nothing to do with your situation but I have had less bars/LTE ever since the most recent LTE/Data outtage. I think something blew in a tower near me but that is probably a local issue.
Thanks for all your help guys.. Ive been letting it go for a few days.. The only place it seems to be noticabley worse is in my girlfriends house. I dont really notice it being less bars any other place but I do live in pittsburgh whether that may be close enough to cleveland or not who knows.

1st of all you can't put a number on it since it depends on what your doing and what apps your using
2nd Apps only read from /dev/random instead of /dev/urandom when they need highly accurate random data. Usually used for stuff like encryption. (The author even added this security flaw as a note)
EDIT: The authors 90% is about possible causes from lag not speed it up by that factor.
Fake as f*ck. Read google's official replay.
EDIT:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/entropy-seed-generator-not-all-its-hacked-up-to-be/
Conclusion: you get the same effect with wiping 3 times before flashing new rom.

Only watched up until he said theres a app that might do that, but it still doesn't make a difference.
If you need less random data the app would use /dev/urandom instead of /dev/random to get less random data (the app pulls data from urandom into random).
The only processes that use /dev/random are wpa_supplicant/hostapd and libcrypto. In both instances it's used for security reasons.
Like I said before. It would make a bigger difference by just not using SSL to transmit data than to use this app.
Arcee said it very clear: This sh*t is the equivalent to picture the flames on your car doors and hammer a 2 by 4 planck on the trunk's lid to make your car go faster.

After watching the first few sentences, it is clear the guy has absolutely no freaking idea what pseudo-random or random mean. I really hate it when people "explain" stuff they know absolutely nothing about to others. It's despicable. They should have stuck to "hey, it feels faster"-like comments.
There is new lag fixer app. Please look into it.
