I can only get one firmware to flash with odin (p1000b0jj3) it completes but still won't boot past the samsung splash screen (fails if i put the csc file in odin). I don't care what firmware its on - just need it to work. was on 2.2 before. I tried flashing jme full v4 but it always fails when odin gets to movinand.mst file. ive been searching for about 12 hours now - looking for a cure but i just can't find complete answers. if there is any help you can offer It would be much appreciated. thank you

Hi,
Trying to unbrick my phone is driving my mind totally mad!
So far I have tried installing several CF roots with ODIN and tried to reflash the ROM with I9000XWJS3. All of them lead to no success, just a black screen and the phone vibrates every 10 seconds.
Trying to find information on this forum is easy.. but trying to put all those pieces of information together is somewhat impossible for me.
I am from the Netherlands and bought this SGS 2nd hand from someone who has rooted it. However I have no idea how that person has done that with which piece of software. I also have no idea what build number it currently has. However I do know there is no sim-lock, because the owner bought it from the KPN telecom provider and has no problems using a sim-card from T-mobile.
I am able to get into the download mode (3 button combo thingy) and Odin can successfully flash the ROM of my SGS.
Now what I need to know is which PIT, ROM, CSC, Modem files etc. I need to make this phone working again. Preferably I'd like to run it on Froyo 2.2.1 with Android market installed.
try downloading the firmwares from samfirmwares.com
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913 download the firmware from here. preferably JM8 flash that thru odin with PIT and REPARTITION and that should do the trick. then you can flash over a new rom like JPY (2.2.1)
I've successfully unbricked my Galaxy with the 'Froyo ROM that does not brick' here - "h t t p://w w w.4shared.com/file/dJiyRz3v/EUGENE373_SamsungS_Froyo_PDA.html" (Can't post as actual link because I'm not allowed to yet, just copy and paste the bit between the speech marks into a new window and remove the spaces).
As per previous poster's instructions; flash through Odin as PDA with PIT and REPARTITION (Original instructions for this ROM said not to use repartition but that didn't work for me)
You should then be able to Odin flash any new rom you like, but when you do DON'T use REPARTITION or PIT, otherwise your phone will just get bricked again.
I feel that flashing the firmwares which needs partition is safer and better than those that isn't....for my case I prefer flashing JPU than JPY or JPX...it works every time I got my phone semi-bricked, hehe...
Hello,
Yesterday i had similar problem ater trying to flash Darky's resurrection edition.
After the boot i had a black screen just like you.
Here's how i finally unbricked:
Download
- PIT 803 file multiupload.com/6JX2LEUCTY
- I9000XWJS3 pakcage from samfirmware.com (european for my case), PIT803 version : hotfile.com/dl/100247999/301207f/I9000_XEN_I9000XWJS3.rar.html
(The pwd is samfirmware.com)
The package I9000 XEN I9000XWJS3 contains 3 file (which i think is the key, trying to repartition with only one PDA file seem to soft brick the phone)
In Odin, tick repartition, for PIT select the PIT 803 file
For PDA, choose I9000XWJS3-REV03-ALL-low-CL830616.tar.md5
For CSC, choose GT-I9000-CSC-XENJS3.tar.md5
For PHONE, choose MODEM_I9000XXJPY.tar.md5
After the flash, your phone will reboot in rescue, unplug it and do a wipe/factory reset, then reboot and you should be ok.
The goal was only to unbrick my phone, but i'm totally happy with this firmware for now, my phone is a lot faster than before, and i don't feel the need of a lagfix anymore!!
Please note that this is just my experience, and you should wait for more advanced users help.
Hi,
was very interested in rooting my phone (Samsung Galaxy S) and putting a custom rom on it. I managed to put on Darky's latest rom last night. However it was giving me problems with the Android market (it crashed when it came to the installation part). Therefore, I want to get rid of all the modifications I made to my phone and go back to the settings how the phone was shipped to me.
How can I do that?
I already downloaded the original firmware (2.2.1) using this forum. It is a .tar file and I tried to flash it with Odin. Seemed to work at the beginning but there were still some elements, like apps, of the old Rom left. So I did the process again.
Now my phone starts up but after the boot screen I only have a black screen with the typical crash vibration patterns all the time. After flashing it again I get into the recovery mode showing errors.
Can somebody please tell me how to go back to my original firmware, without a custom rom, root access etc.?
I'm afraid that I will brick my phone now.
thank you
(I searched this forum but couldnt find anything related to my question)
get yourself a firmware that comes in 3 files.... or a firmware than you can re-partition with 1 file.....
go into odin, check repartition and select pit (downloaded with firmware)
flash your phone and that should do the job
Hi all,
EDIT: After many false starts and some nervous near-brick experiences, I managed to solve my problem with one of the simplest solutions I hadn't thought of: Heimdall. I just extracted the tar file then dropped each individual file into Heimdall and reflashed the Tab and it is now back from the dead, ready to be reflashed.
After my GT-P1000T started having some unexplained slowness and FC's, I thought I would flash it back to stock before upgrading to the newer Overcome ROM. So I wiped my Overcome 3.0.1 Jupiter Tab from Clockworkmod and then plugged it into my 64-bit Win7 machine to try and flash it back to stock. Dropping the necessary JQ1 files (including the TAR, PIT and Modem files) into Odin with all options checked .
Unfortunately, Odin gets quite a way into flashing factoryfs.rfs and then throws a FAIL! message and the Tab restarts to the weird phone-triangle-pc icon on-screen at which point Odin re-recognises it.
I have tried toggling re-partition, rebooting the Tab, rebooting the PC, changing ports, redownloading the files and running Odin with admin privs, all to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get back to working condition?
Do a search for Telstra rom galaxy tab, reflash that to see if it works. Then retry flashing gb...
Never had trouble flashing but I generally restock the telstra rom first....
Cheers...
Okay. Some history to start with...
I got Chinese version of Galaxy Note which runs i9220 ROM and been trying to flash with HK/EU ROM last several days but out of luck so far. (And whenever failed, I re-loaded stock ROM found from Samsung-updates.com site for i9220. It then worked fine but still with original problem unsolved.
I then tried one last method that I saw someone succeed flashing Chinese ROM via use of PIT file came from one of the other downloads.. yeah, I didn't check the source PIT came from before try... which is my bad.
Without confirming it, I instantly located "u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit" that's packaged with odin 1.85 and carelessly gave a try.
And now... my precious GalaxyNote became the most expense brick in my house and am looking for professional help from you guys.
Steps I did before bricking and tried:
1. Load GalaxyNote in Download mode (volume down + home + power)
2. Launch Odin 1.85 and no change to default setting. (Check mark on #Auto Reboot & #F.Reset Time, uncheck on #Re-Partition & #Flash Lock)
3. Set PIT to "u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit"
4. Set PDA to "N7000XXKL7_N7000OXAKL7_N7000XXKL7_HOME"
5. Click #Start
Soon after around 5%, it failed.
I then attempted to restore factory ROM via usual way - doing same as above except no PIT this time and choosing original stock ROM for i9220.
It failed! OMG...
I then tried again (#1 ~ 5 above) but this time, check on #Re-partition for luck. Still no luck!
I then downloaded Heimdall1.3.1 and tried to extract PIT file but the tool fails as well and gives "ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12".
At all times, GalaxyNote screen shows android icon with 'Downloading... Do not turn off target!!'. And the device can also be seen from odin.
Soon as turn off galaxynote and disconnect from computer, it shows 'Software Update Fail' message.
How I can restore to original factory setting? And if possible, how I can restore to EU or Hong Kong ROM?
My Chinese friend has the same device as mine. In this case, will Heimdall tool help extracting PLT from it and help restoring my device via odin?
Your professional help is sincerely appreciated!!!!
Resolved
Using "Q1_20110914_16GB.pit" and re-partition check from odin while flashing to original stock rom has resolved an issue.
Referred from following thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533214
Never use pit and do not tick repartion when flashing.
bootloader?
U are fine. It is a recovery issue and not a bootloader. Install custom recovery and flash stock firmware w odin. Oh yea, and profit.

Hi guys,
I am flashing my gf's phone and tried to root the phone first. Flashed a 'PDA' file in ODIN as the guide said.
Now my Galaxy S has the BSOD (Black Screen Of Death) logo. I can still go into the Download-mode, so i guess there is no need for panic.
I read a lot of guide's and faq's here at XDA, and I think I am supposed to flash new firmware via ODIN (with a PIT, PDA, PHONE and CSC file).
My problem is that all the links to this firmware are down or dead, Argh!
Can you provide me a working link with the right and some advice?
BTW, I flashed my HD2, and HTC Sensation many times before, but I am new to flashing Samsungs.
When you flashed the PIT file I assume that you selected repartition?
The PIT file contains the "Drive" layout when you select repartition it will completely wipe the phone as you have found out.
If the phone is able to boot into download mode you will be able to flash another ROM.
I would suggest Darky's 10.2 as this is a odin flashable ROM and it is based on the Samsung stock ROM's.
If you use Darky's you do not have to root the phone before flashing as Darky's complete ROM includes root standard.
Most of the new custom ROM's do not require root before hand as root is included unless the thread states other wise
