Droid 3 cifs.ko - Motorola Droid 3

I'm looking for cifs.ko and slow-works.ko to mount my Win shares on my Droid 3 (XT862). I think these are the only required modules for CifsManager and for the actual mount cmd too right?

im looking for it too...

http://www.enst.fr/~husson/Droid3/cifs.ko
It doesn't need slow-works.ko

Should have posted this in "General."

DSPmanager.apk

hi guys,
first of all, i did not create this app so all props should go out to alankila from TeamVillain.
i really like what it does and the simplicity of it...it really makes a friggin' big difference to the sound
so therefore i want to share it with those not using FroydVillain ( i searched for it in market but could not find it )
Thanks just installed
off topic but how do you extract apps from a rom?

Open up the zip and look for 'em in either data/app or system/app.
Enjoy!
Yeah, alankila made this.
Are you not missing the modified .so file? Or am I getting confused between things?

It works on Cronos Froyo 0.2.
open up command prompt (if on windows)
type :
cd\
cd C:\AndroidSDK\tools\ (or were ever your androidsdk is located)
adb install DSPManager.apk (if the .apk is in the tools directory of your Android SDK or if it is in downloads it would be
adb install C:\downloads\DSPManager.apk)
Click to expand...

Or you can put the apk in the root of your SD Card download Astro Filemanager go to your sdcard find the apk and install it.

eh..well..i dunno to be honest
i'm just a really simple-minded 'user' so i just extracted the *.apk from the zip-file and installed it with oi filemanager on my phone
i'm now running Cronos 0.2 and it works just fine so far...i really like what it does! so alankila, thnx! ...now my hero really rocks
i tried the same procedure with the cpuspeed.apk but that didn't work ( really liked that proggie as well! )
*when i close my eyes i start dreaming of a 'Feeyo/Villain' colaboration resulting in the best hero-rom everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....damn that would be something

you could ask [email protected] if he could get it work?
no gone back to VR12 till bug is sorted in mmod, and all i get is invalid parser of file or summmit along them lines
Is this built only for 2.2? Tried on Chronos 2.1.3 and get invalid parser error

Froyo only AFAIK, and I think it needs to be built into the ROM with a lib or two as well...

FYI....

He said in his own thread that metamorph was one of the things he tested with. It works
So, I can apply themes on to my legend via metamorph? Correct?

I think it is safe now for ROM brewers to include this script into their ROMs.

So you can do one of two things:
- Everything in post#1 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773278
- Wait for a developer to include that kernel in their ROM
..and then you can use metamorph. Personally I am hoping the feature will be available in an upcoming ROM/update.
Maybe it will *just* work with Azure due to this:

WiFi is not an issue. If you have tiwlan.ko and sdio.ko in your /system/lib/modules, then you're set.
In Azure there is kernel made from source with AUFS support I guess. Just find out if it is enabled... adb pull /proc/config.gz, gunzip it and find out if there is CONFIG_AUFS_FS set to y or m in it.
Today I will also sort out busybox problem and then we are set for every Legend ROM I know.

I wonder if you can spoof the build.prop to match the Nexus s and fool the app...
Nope, it's going to need a modified framework to have an ESN. Go to the apps section of NC here, and read up on the HBO-GO thread. It's going to be very close to their solution.

Well, it may require a device with an ESN, but if it is only available to "select" devices, it has to be reading something from the build.prop to determine if it is a valid phone model; the two are different issues..

Looking at the build.prop that is already on my CM7 nook, it has a ro.build.fingerprint of that of a Nexus, so that should not be an issue...
Well, never mind - got a "device not supported" error. It may be looking at other build.prop sections, it may be failing with no IEMI framework (haven't done that mod yet), or it may be looking at the actual CPU, for something only the snapdragon has...
As I posted in another section, I'm watching netflix on my nook *right now*! All it took was a build.prop mod. As follows:
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.brand=tmobile
ro.product.name=vision
ro.product.device=vision
ro.product.board=vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
ro.build.fingerprint=tmobile/htc_vision/vision/vision:2.2/FRF91/277427:user/release-keys

I have two build.props on my sd card that I switch in the terminal, "nookcolorbuild.prop" and "nctmobbuild.prop". I also keep a third one for MLB.tv. The commands I use in terminal are:
Code:
$ su
# busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
# cp /sdcard/[WHICHEVER FILE I WANT TO USE].prop /system/build.prop
Then a restart, which applies it!

VERY cool solution. I don't doubt I could follow those instructions, but does keeping the netflix-compatible build.prop file on there break anything else?

Probably? Things run a little slow, but I haven't tested thoroughly. I'm pretty used to switching build.props on a regular basis for use with mlb.tv, so it doesn't bother me to have to switch often. I plan on switching back when I'm done watching just in case (or until others can show that it doesn't hurt anything).

nls_utf8.ko for Atrix 1.8.3

After searching this forum, doesn't seem to be able to find one for Atrix.
Spend sometime grabbed the kernel and compiled this module. Tested working with my wife's AT&T Atrix with 1.8.3 using cifsmanager.
Let me know how it goes for you guys.

If you do not know what it is for, then that means in most case you do not need it.
Basically what it does to me is it allows you to access network shares with non-ANSI folder/file names.
Thanks a lot,
It works.
I compiled the kernel twice but none of utf8.ko worked.
Could you please tell me the steps to compile it? Like to learn something.

You need to set nls_utf8=m (m means module) in .config file. =y will compile it into the kernel....
Err, if you got .ko file but it doesn't work, then I do not know why..., did you compile kernel against the one published by Moto?
Good work.

The first time I used =m and make modules. It generated a .ko file slightly smaller than yours. The second time I used =y and it's still the same .ko file.
I downloaded the 1.2.6 kernel source from moto website.

That's interesting, basically, =y will not give you .ko file anyway, so you will see the results from the first time.
My one was compiled under OSX, while environment was setup using macport, that might be different than compiling under linux. But at this stage, I really could not tell what was the cause that you can get the .ko file but not able to use it.

GPRS speed is determined by the Network provider, and I don't think the Kernel modules have anything to do in particular.
Anyways see by yourself by putting those .ko files in /system/lib/modules
