Google voice

Does anybody have this working on att or am I complety lost, it just won't let me send sms or use gtalk.
However it worked when I had sprint

I have been unable to use google voice ever since switching to the Vivid it has not worked on Stock, RunRaider as we as HoliRaider. I'm unsure why but it is bothersome

I have the fix guys! Mine is working, here is what you do:
- Set up the Google voice app first. (Make sure to chose Google as your voice mail option in the setup.)
- Next,go to settings on your phone.
- Go to call forwarding
- Leave the first option alone
- Change the bottom three options to your Google voice mail number.
I don't know if it will fix SMS or talk but voicemail does work after you change the settings. I don't use sms or talk.

[Q] is anyone else have problems searching contacts?

I recently updated my phone to de-sensed v.8 and now when I search my phone for a contacts it only wants to show me the numerical value of the letter (a=2, d=3 etc)
Any thoughts on why or what could be causing it? Everytime I try to type in a contact name in SMS or any other 3rd party SMS app it just shows the numerical value...

Voice features

Anyone know why text to speech doesnt work with texting apps like go sms?
It says its broken to.check system settings but the option is greyed out and the test option works.
I'd like to for when I'm driving.

Did at&t purposely hose google voice on this phone?

One thing that has always drove me nuts about this phone is google voice. On my captivate it was cake to setup. Install the app log in, and go through setup and your good. On my vivid however you get an error when trying to switch voicemail provider to google voice. There is a workaround and I did that, it forwards voicemails to google voice instead of the default AT&T number. However the app doesn't sync right, it never notifies me anymore. I think att purposely hosed it so we had to use there crappy paid visual voicemail service.

K I uninstalled it and reinstalled and went through setup again and its working fine now. We'll see if it lasts

I had similar issues at the beginning. It's working OK now.

So what's this work-around for the voicemail? I'd like to know.

Change all the voice mail forwarding numbers to your Google Voice number, and google voice should work as its supposed to

See my previous post. Pretty much if yours isn't notifying than uninstall it and reinstall. Then go through set up as usual. After it fails to change your settings, go in and change your forwarding numbers from atts voice mail number to your Google voice number and should work.

So does the call then forward to GV as a call, or does it forward to GV as just the voicemail? I'm still hazy on the subject. I've already changed my forwarding numbers.

Except the AT&T VVM is free for people with LTE plans, so....

I wasn't aware either way it's rubbish bloatware, and I'd rather use my Google voice.

Google sync issues

My Google account constantly says it's experiencing sync issues but it doesn't say where. Usually one you go into the sync settings for the account it would display an exclamation point beside it but there's nothing there. I've tried readding my account, factory reset, and clearing contacts even though that's not the problem. On an aosp ROM it syncs fine so I think it's something setup wrong with HTC on sense Roms. Has anyone else experienced this or could anybody help?

This is the only place where it says there's issues. Everything says it's syncing okay on the next account sync page but then what else could it be?
