[Q] 3D Games/Power User Stable Overclock with SetCPU?

hey i wanted to know:
what is a good stable high performable overclock frequency for power/3d games??
Currently I have: HTC Incredible S rooted with runnydr0id 2.1 rom (android 2.3.5)
i have it overclocked to 1.3 ghz max. with setCPU
is this good ? do i need more?
mine is on 1.4ghz via CM7 settings. i think im using the brazilian wax governor from lord clockan kernel. 100% stable, havent had any reboots of slowdowns and the phone is incredible-y ( ;] ) quick all round.

[Q] My X8 keep rebooting after OC help

Hi need help i always cannot oc my x8. I am using alfs kernel + GDX and it'll freeze and reboot if i set to 748mhz or higher.
Today i tried to use Gingercruzt + nAa kernel I also cannot oc too. Anyone experience this problem??? Help
Phone reboots after OC
Hello am currently using MiniCm7 2.1.6 + nAa kernel 08b using governor interactive min 122Mhz and Max 729Mhz and enabled the set on boot and runs very smooth it only takes 44 secs to fully boot with many apps intalled that are required to start on boot as far as i`ve been using it i had no issues, with preloaded settings min 122Mhz and Max 600Mhz i got a score of 1764 running nice and neet no concerns

8GB Class 10 MicroSDHC
Every phone is different, If a x8 is stable at 748 mhz it is not necessary that other one should..
Mine also not stable at 748 mhz so if your phone is not stable try lower frequency..
Thanks a lot for the info My X8 still reboots if i set to 748Mhz so i only can use 729Mhz

[Q] low 2d performance on MiniCM7

Using:
MiniCM 2.1.8 by nAa and nAa kernel 10
Fresh install, full wipe
Benchamrking tool:
Antutu
@ 600mhz - performance and ondemand governor
2d score - 283
3d score - 483
@ 748mhz - performance and ondemand governor
2d score - 287
3d score - 511
My phone is:
W8 MFC 11w22
I really dont have any idea on why my phone performance is not increasing despite those OC and upgrade in ROM and Kernel, which stated by nAa to supposed to be improved because of the improved Adreno driver. BTW, i didnt install antutu from the market, i just restore it from TBackup. But i dont see that as my problem. IDK if it is my phone, or rom, or something IDK. Please guide me, Im really confused and eager to improved my scrolling and 2d performance. Thanks in advance.

[Q] 2d score - quadrant

Somebody can explain me why some people have 450 points in Quadrant advance with the same rom (fresh install without tweak) and I have only 250? Thanks for replies
A lot of people wonders the same question (including me). So far, we discard touchscreen digitizer, phone type (E15a or E15i).
I can say that is problem with kernel. I installed:
MiniCM 2.1.9 + nAa 11 = 300- points.
MiniCM 2.1.9 + Alfs 07 = 450+ points.
OBS:. Same ROM installation, just switch the kernels.
In Debranded SE by Achotjan i have 30fps in 2d test and 450+ points.

use alfs kernel for better 2d and 3d score without any tweak.... for better gaming and perfomance . i recommend use cynogenmod 7.2 rom with alfs ... it is smooth in 2d and very good for gaming . battery life is much better .
press thanx if i helped u .

HAHA why edit things like that?

Okey, thanks

only for curiosity, qudrant can be easily edited too lol..i have one program(apk) made by arto seven i think, i don´t know, that you at 600 mhz in quadrant you can reach at 1700 points lol i don't use of course, but exist

yeap. It was called Quadrant Hack, by ArtoSeven. You can still find it on blogspot.
But regarding topic, after testing a lot of roms, over stock kernel , I can say that, considering no OC, only @600:
- the only combination that will give you 400+ score for 2D, is STOCK. I used 2.1.1.C.0.0. I got 421 of 2d score in AnTuTu. Of course quadrant is lower, about 250.
Also, is slightly increased when you apply the Optimizer (by lthunter...): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427359
- The closest results but a bit lower (I had only 350+) is FroyoPro by lrakkarl.
-about all 2.3. roms + stock kernel will score under 300 in antutu. Quadrant about 200 - 210. Except Stornmix , which surprisingly scores in Quadrant 250, but almost same in Antutu - 270. I guess it hass the Quadrant Hack....for 2 d only ...hehe just joking, no disrespect.
now i have 350 points in quadrant (2d fix - few libs), but in achotjan semc rom i have 450 30fps in 2d test . Somebody can told me what libs are for 2d? libgles_v1_cm , libgles_v2?

[Q] Optimal overclock for Samsung Galaxy S i9000

I'm currently running stock kernel and stock rom on a rooted Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (GT-i9000). The Android version is 2.3.3. and i wish to overclock it as much as possible, to define this I would like to say "as much as possible where i gain a measurable result without any waste".
So i recently overclocked the phone with Tegraks app Overclocking Ultimate, thanks for the app!
My current settings are set to 1.3 Ghz with an output of 1.305 V with an internal voltage of 1100mV. The Io sheduler is cfg and governor performance with scaling-min: 800mhz and max: 1.3 Ghz.
The test results are:
AnTuTu Benchmark 1000 Mhz
RAM: 326
CPU-Int: 596
CPU-float: 153
2D: 275
3D: 1058
Database IO: 250
SD write: 2.8MB/s
SD Read: 9.3MB/s
CPU: 1000 Mhz
Total score: 2779
AnTuTu Benchmark 1300 Mhz
RAM: 442
CPU-Int: 781
CPU-float: 200
2D: 278
3D: 1141
Database IO: 380
SD write: 4.2MB/s
SD Read: 11.9MB/s
CPU: 1300 Mhz
Total score: 3383
Is this really the maximum performance to receive of the device without modifying the kernel or rom?
My SGS
Hi,
in my SGS, it looks like this:
ROM: Slim-3.1.0-OFFICIAL (Android 4.1.2)
Kernel: Devil3_1.9.5_Jelly_Helly_i9000_CFS_BLN_VC .
In this Kernel, I was able tweak processor to 1484 MHz. Using Devil Kernel Config, I set the frequency to 1400 MHz. Then, I set LiveOC value to 106, still got max frequency of 1484 MHz. RAM Settings is "Big Mem 403 MB" (movies in HD work), ZRAM Size is 150 MB and Swappiness is disable. Deep Idle and Deep Idle Stats is enabled. I set I/O Scheduler to "sio" and CPU Governor to "smartassV2". AnTuTu Benchmark v3.0.3 results look like this:
RAM: 813
CPU-Int: 989
CPU-float: 238
2D: 387
3D: 1582
Database IO: 545
SD Write: 6.2MB/s (internal SD)
SD Read: 9.1MB/s (internal SD)
CPU: 1484 MHz
Total score: 4707
So the answer to your question ... I do not think you get a better result without modifying the kernel and ROM change. I got, but not on the stock ROM and Kernel.
If you're happy with your stock rom I'd leave it, unless there's something you really need to OC for.
My phone gets pretty hot playing games with just 111% Live OC, are you doing this for the scores? Or is there some game that lags?

I have installed CM10.1 and overclocked it to 1.2Ghz.
Antutu is always close to 4200.

Stock. running cm10.1 12th jan nightly. Ran the benchmark, the score was around 4200. Cant post screenshot at the moment. Will post it later.
update
You should update to cm10. It relly felt like a new phone when i updated from stock to cm9.1. I had the same version as you 2.3.3 and it sux.
1200 for me, best Antutu benchmark(5000+ no games, ~4400 with games) while not risking to brick my phone.

If you're still on gb try glitch kernel. I once reached 4200 in the old version of antutu with 1.6ghz overclock while the stock kernel gave around 2900. 1.5ghz was stable for me.
AW: [Q] Optimal overclock for Samsung Galaxy S i9000
