[Q] USB Debugging notification sound - Motorola Droid 3

Hey everyone. I leave USB debugging enabled all the time and whenever I plug my phone into my computer to charge, I get the default notification sound. I have it turned off in sound settings, but in some research on this I found its in the rom to always sound.
I'm running Liberty 1.2.
Any ideas where to look to turn it off?

Use root explorer (or equivalent)
/system/media/audio
find your audio file that makes that sound
rename it to sound.bak (or delete it - thats what i did with my notification ringtones)
Or you can go to sound settings -> volume -> uncheck the use incoming call volume thing -> then put the notification volume down to 0.

I've been doing some research and it seems its in build.prop
Something like this, but its not working on the d3, or at least mine.

[Q] Disable Start-up Sound

Hi,
I'm just wondering if there's a way to disable the start-up sound of my LG Optimus 2X (other than turning the phone to silent before I turn off the phone the day before)? I find the sound to be quite annoying and loud.
Thanks.
you will need somthing like root explorer and put the phone in R/W mode and go to the following
/system/media/audio/poweron
and in there is you start up sound, you can either change it to something you like or just delete it
EASY

[Q] Notifcations don't sound

Alright this one is strange. Sometimes my notifications won't make sound. I find the only way to get them to sound is to reboot my phone. My only question is why is it that this happens in the first place? I use the droid notification for texts from the phone's normal menu and for gtalk I use one from my sd card. I am really at a loss here...
I'm also having issues with notifications, but more with the vibrate. None of my notifications I mark as "vibrate" actually vibrate, despite having it marked to "always" vibrate in the sound menu.
As for your problem, cstrife, do you have any apps that change volume or is your volume in the "sound" menu different? I know that Lightflow seemed to mess with my sounds a bit. I also use "notification manager" to turn off sounds at night, and sometimes in the morning the scheduler doesn't restore volume settings properly.
Gawd I'm just waiting for a good custom ROM.

Nope no apps other than the volume settings I use.

I notice the exact same thing regarding the vibrate function... I can feel incoming calls, but not any notifications (i.e. texts, GoogleTalk IMs, etc.). Not a SUPER huge deal, but would rather it work--than not.

[Q] Notifications won't vibrate

I've had this problem for about a week now. For some reason, no matter what text message app I use, non of my notifications will vibrate. I've uninstalled every app I installed since it started happening, but no luck. I don't know what's causing it! A few days ago notifications returned back to normal, but then I got a text today that didn't vibrate.
Also, Settings > Sound > Vibrate is set to always, both in the general settings and in Go SMS, but it doesn't vibrate in either silent or ringing mode.
Info:
Build: Cognition 4.5.3
Stock firmware
Thanks for your help!
I'm having the same problem. Happened out of nowhere and is starting to drive me crazy. I didn't change any settings and all vibration/notification settings for my phone and my texting app are set properly. It has to be something with the system because my volume control app showed that vibration was off for all notifications even tho it was turned on in settings. I uninstalled that app...still no luck
Anyone have a suggestion?
Were you able to turn it back on in the volume app? I know Sound Manager will let you toggle it. I have had this issue in the past as well; I turned it back on with Sound Manager and it worked properly afterward. In that program, hit menu and there's a vibration settings menu.

[Q] How to put phone in vibrate or sound mode while listening to music?

I was listening to music at the gym this morning, and I wanted to switch my phone from Priority Mode to All. (I use Priority Mode as Silent Mode because I just turn off everything and it only allows Alarm to come through, and I always keep my phone on vibrate so All Mode is my Vibrate Mode.) However, I couldn't figure out how. I ended up having to stop the music, wait a few seconds, press the volume button, switch it, then play music again. Seems a bit tedious to do, so was curious if anyone knows another way? Thanks.
Yeah - wait for Android 5.1.

That unfortunately doesn't work if you are in Priority Mode or None mode. There is no way to switch the mode without using the volume button, but when listening to music, the volume button is then dedicated to the music volume.
EDIT: Nevermind...found it in Settings> Sound & Notification> Interruptions. Didn't realize the top setting changed the modes. It is worded differently so I didn't even think to try that. Thanks!

Disable the "charging sound"

I know it's a very minor problem but it is one I would like to fix.
When I plug a charger in the screen lights up with the usual animation and the sound. This is too loud in the night so I would like to turn off the sound or disable it in some way.
This is a 9T pro unrooted and updated to MIUI 12.0.2.0. I have searched Google and there are some answers but they must relate to another MIUI as the options in Sound & vibration/Additional settings are different to the ones I see listed.
This is still an issue! Anyone out there with a solution?
Trying to bump this thread.
It's under "Sound reactions".
Mine never made any sound tbh
I finally hit upon an easy solution. Turn on 'do not disturb' setting, then plug in phone or place on charger dock. Then turn off the 'do not disturb' setting. The noise will not wake your household, and should an emergency call come in, you won't miss it. This solves my problem of late night charging. Who wants to stay up to turn sound back on?
