I have Samsung Galaxy ace overall this phone is really good ..but it lacks only in Battery backup .For watching movies ,listening to Music the default 1350 mAh battery works fine but as soon as i start using internet with 3g connection battery lasts only for 4-5 hrs ..so i wanted to know does 1500 mAh /1750 mAh battery works properly in Ace without any problems and how much battery backup i will get with it??

Are you using it?
High Battery not really good. You should buy more original battery and use a dock charge.
I use the Orginall Samsung 1500 mAh battery from the I5800
works perfect and is like the same from Ace

K bt wat abt the backup ... for how many hrs ur battery lasts if u watch- 2 youtube videos ,surf net for 1 hr in a day,and download 2apps from market with 3g connection???
And tell me whether Li-on

samsung galaxy ace S5830..
I mean are there any problems reported
like cell not functioning properly,or cell
phone getting overheated...if any plzzz let me know!!
Alphatime like they are not the same. You really can't fit i5800 battery into galaxy ace. Why would you claim such a thing?
Now for some useful information. The phone can be optimized to last long in standby mode, simply by turning off the data connection when not using it, and switching to 2G. You can let jucedefender do that for you, or APN access point to manualy turn connection on and off.
But what good is a smart phone in a standby mode? The moment you start using it for something like say playing games, you got 2 hours gaming on a full charge. Now that’s pathetic.
Here are some things you can do to keep CPU less busy.
Use bsplayer lite to watch movies. It uses hardware acceleration to decode videos. It will keep CPU consuming less than 150mW. Unlike other players that use software decoding and constantly hit cpu usage as high as 400mW. So you can get 5+ hours (depending on brightness settings) watching movies using bsplayer.
Generally browsers will remain under 150mW if you let them sit still, but the moment you start scrolling (CPU) or opening links (radio) the power consumption will peak. Now Opera mini seems to take least CPU power. Obviously turning on wifi and 3G will drain much faster. The best battery time can be achieved using the 2G network data connection together with opera mini. Opera mobile seems to have hardware acceleration but I yet have to test the power consumption.
Test the applications you frequently use. You can use the power tutor program to monitor power consumption and test your application.
I've found that some programs, even the simple book readers will just lock the CPU at 800MHz even if you let them stand still, doing nothing with constant 400mW drain. Uninstall such applications or use them for short periods.
Well games have a high CPU demand and subsequently power consumption, and there is nothing to do about that.
Basically you can get:
2-3 days in standby or,
2 hours of playing games, and using unoptimized applications or,
5+ hours using applications with good coding and or hardware acceleration.
Underclocking the CPU using setCPU has no effect, becouse optimized applications allready scale the cpu to 250mhz or 128mhz. And demanding applications will stutter when underclocked and won't consume much less power.
I've just ordered this 2430mah

All the measurements that ive made were done using official 1350 mah battery.
So using oem 1350 battery on a single charge you can get 5 hours of video using bsplayer or 4h using opera mini with wifi. I just dont play games on my samsung or use unoptimized applications and I get good battery life.
Currently there are no >1350mah batteries that can fit inside galaxy ace (S830). All these unofficial batteries that claim more capacity are a hoax (chinese 2400 really?).
If there will ever be a larger capacity battery, they will be sold together with a special back cover so that a much thicker battery can fit inside the samsung galaxy ace.
Cheers

Ok, then my 2430mAh hoax battery lasts longer than my stock battery. And it's not chinese, it's japanese. It's not a small difference I'm really happy with my hoax! With stock it lasts 30-35 hours normal usage, with new battery there was 59 hours.

Yes, that's it, same as my experience.
This particular gold 2430 battery, has a faulty or missing temperature sensor. This means it can charge to a somewhat higher capacity, but never actually 2430mah.
The capacity of 2430mah would mean an energy density of 900W/L. Now currently the record breaking panasonic lithium ion battery has a denisty of 650W/L
The good thing about a temperature sensor is that its actually a failsafe mechanism keeping the battery from not exploding.
So try to keep your phone on a cold place while charging and away from flamable stuff.
And even if its made in Japan I somehow suspect that the Chinese have to do something with the faulty temperature senzor.
Cheers.
Well My ace doesn't get very hot anyway so I'm not worried
I should get it lol...

Wow, quite good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that test is a bit flawed... PaulOBrien reported that the Nexus S exaggerates it's battery % quite seriously...

Here is an interesting test of battery life of the lg o2x.

my battery life blows :/
Well, mine has a pretty good battery....you know now I have time, so I just keep playing with it all day, so with auto-brightness and WiFi always on, playing pretty much all-day I got through 1 day without my charger. Without wifi and less playing I think 2-3 days could be easily achieved.
I am using V10d rom unrooted.
It happended several times now. I need to change SIM cards often as I travelled to different areas during my work. Before I pull out the battery,it is at 50%. After I change SIM card and put back the battery, it drop to less than 17%. It takes me less than a minute to change the SIM card. What happened to the battery??
Use juicedefender

I managed to get 3 days+ out of it under average use. Could probably easily manage 4+ with setCPU or something underclocking the processor and turning off data, etc.

i'd like to know too. My battery life sucks. Barely make it through a day now. On MCR FR17..
This is one of many threads about this.. But i'll respond anyway.
I had same issue, after some tests, i found out its GSM part of phone thats draining the juice. With airplane mode on it was about 3% in 8h. I was on BlazingDragon, with some apps, normal phone use It lasted 24h on standby without any use, no more.
Yesterday, i tried to flash (lastest for central europe) stock firmware, including baseband, simply i got the phone into factory state. And well, during night with data off it was 1% (yes, you are reading it right, i woke up with phone on 99%), now 10h later with lighter usage (some mp3, not much, a little of tapatalk, gmail push on) i'm at 78%.
I dont have any software except tapatalk installed atm. Dont think my problem with with BlazingDragon rom thou, i suspect some application caused it, but dunno which one
I think it will last 2 days with current usage, and several days with data disabled (using it as plain old phone only for calls )
PS: I dont use any JuiceDefender etc..
Iam using slicks rom, if i only write sms and surf sometimes, i have to charge every third day, but if i playing THD games, i have to charge after 3-4 hours
+1
the stand by time is really nice but gaming sucks out everything from my battery
Other than the battery drain during standby, my current observation is that, say if my battery was at 50% before I pull out the battery (say if I need to change SIM card), after I changed SIM and put the battery within one minute, it suddenly drops to less than 17%. Why the battery loss 33% in no time?
People keep saying that the phone can last a week if it is on airplane mode, or by turning off data 3 days, but then why we need a smartphone of such build?
Has anyone compare the other dual core or tegra2 phones in the market how they perform battery life? Do they have such awful battery drain standby? LG said the battery drain was due to incompatibility of tegra2 and android 2.2. Why sell the phone in the first place? This problem starts from day 1. LG no QC or just want hiding this problem from customer?

it looks like a calibration problem. Either 50% or 17% reading was false.
Just did two full days after reflash with MCR.
Hi!
I was just wondering what battery life I can expect when playing android games and using emulators like fpse and n64oid? Wifi off and screen brightness at like 70%. I found battery tests on video playback and browsing, but not gaming. Thanks!
I reckon around 2 to 2.5hours deffinatley no more than 3!, high brightness and high processor usage is a sure way to drain your battery FAST!

Oh, that was not super good lol. I guess I should reconsider picking up a 5000mah external usb charger for 20 dollars on ebay. This phone looks like a really good combination of tablet and phone though, so I think I might get it. Thanks for the answer!
To be fair though when you get the phone youll realise that 70% is quite bright(too bright imo for indoors) I have mine set at 20% most of the time, that'll probably up it to a deffinate 3 hours constant play.
I dont often play games too be honest, I mostly just browse the web and draw a few pictures, i average around 4 to 4.5 hours constant use, I rarely get past 5!
1500 mAh is the most?
just like to know if there is a factory defaults on this. thanks
As far as i know the real highest capacity battery is Mugen battery for GT-S5570, it has 1400mAh. The stock one has 1200mAh.
Personally, i don't believe in those high-rated fake batteries on eBay, they usually don't have the capacity that is claimed. Maybe there is a better one, but I doubt you need any more than 1400mAh, Galaxy Mini/Pop has small screen and only a 600MHz processor.
good to know
thanks for a detailed answer. i need a bigger one. 1200 not getting me anyway.
Maybe you could save juice by using toggles for WiFi, Data (3G), GPS and display brightnes if you dont. If you're on stock rom you can use power control or widgetsoid widgets, and if youre on Cyanogenmod you can change that in the settings. That gets me by, my battery lasts 2 days sometimes .
Definately give it a try rather than buying a replacement battery!
Might be useful.
I do agree that 1200Mah is no enough for our phone, But we're talking about a low-end phone here which is supposedly not used for a lot of browsing/gaming..etc.
You can save battery by lowering the brightness and turning sync off , it helps a lot.
underclocking will also help if you're not a fan of fluid scrolling and animations.
I pulled out 4 hours of displau runtime on stock CPU frequency. If you actively use your phone for more than 3-4 hours, get a 5Volt voltage regulator and a car battery
Hello, I recently purchased the 3500mAh 3.7V extended battery for my dinc. Can someone tell me what voltage I should charge it up to? I am not seeing amazing results, so I believe that my battery is not completely calibrated. I did run it through multiple complete uses (fully charged, to drain, and repeat) so I don't know what the problem could be. Thanks.

What were you expecting for battery life? Depending on the brand it may not be a real 3500mAh battery. One full discharge and recharge should be enough to calibrate the software though Li-Ion batteries have no memory in them. Check this out. It mentions extending the life on the battery but is still interesting stuff.

Hey tiny. Well, from what I was reading about this battery, users got two full days with heavy usage (they described heavy usage to be streaming music, surfing the Web, testing, playing games, etc.) but, this is what I get, and it's the best I got (3 hours display, half an hour talk time). I even went down to gb to see if it would be good, but I didn't see much of a difference. And I did look at battery university a bit, but I didn't delve into the material. I'll check that link out.

Wow, that's pretty abysmal for a 3500mAh battery, especially in a lower consuming device like the incredible. How does that compare to your stock battery? It should be at least 70-80% better assuming that it's not really a 3500mAh battery. It may be a false claim that it's 3500mAh from the makers. I think 4 hours screen time on 3500mAh should be more reasonable for about 35 hours total time. I usually get about 1-3 hours screen time over a period of 10-30 hours total on my Galaxy Nexus. On my Inc on CM7 with stock battery my usage allowed me to go up to 30 hours, usually 20 on a charge with 30% left I think but it's been a while and I don't know the screen on time. It might have been about 2 hours.

Yeah, that's why I am worried. And actually, my stock battery usually have me like a day with good use. When you put it in perspective, my 1300mAh battery gives me about 67% of the battery life that I get from a 3500 mAh battery. Is there any way I can measure the power of the battery? I take physics, so even finding a way to calculate the current, voltage, and/or resistance of the battery would help.
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda app-developers app
Check batteryuniversity.com, they have a link for calculating the actual capacity, or if you know your model which you should you can Google for actual capacity. Someone probably has posted capacities of a battery.
just going to add that in my experience(I have 3 Dincs), just a 3500 mah battery isn;t going to give you amazing results on it;s own. power management on the Dinc requires some attention. i find that charging the battery in the phone doesn;t necessarily yield a full charge, especially if you are charging it while the OS is loaded(topping it off). so my strategy has been to run my batteries down to empty, replace with a fresh one and charge them in an external battery charger-but not just any charger but a RAVpower universal charger. I have an "official" Seido charger and that doesn;t charge my batteries fully either even though it thinks it has by showing a green LED. I know some people will say that batteries shouldn;t be treated like this and that they don;t suffer from memory effect so you are free to not do what I am doing.
the biggest things that use up the battery is the 3G radio and the Display so of course if you are just using your phone to do stuff non stop of course you'd be lucky to get 4-6 hours of usage. Even if you have your phone doing useful stuff over wifi like checking for email in the background, it does consume battery. but with my phone in Airplane mode(like overseas where I would have no 3G or Wifi), I;ve gotten a couple of days of Standby time.
other stuff I have done is remove any apks in memory that might be consuming cpu cycles and memory. less is more on a limited platform like the Dinc. biggest cpu hogs on my phone believe it or not is Facebook and Amazon App Store(my guess is that it;s periodically checking my licensing for some apps that I got from them). it;s not uncommon for me to boot up the phone and for the battery to go from 100% to 90% in 5 minutes as the phone is initializing and doing whatever it;s doing. then slowly deplete from from 90% to 80% in 8 hours or so.

Your battery gauge is lying to you (and it's not such a bad thing)
So, I looked through all of battery university, but i still have 1 unanswered question. The website states that most Li-ion batteries should be charged to a mximum voltage of 4.20 V. However, does this apply to all batteries? I mean, my extended battery is a 3.7V battery. Was the htc dinc original battery a 3.7 v battery? If the voltages are different, then wouldn't the 3.7V battery need to be charged to a higher voltage so that the potential difference would equal that of the original battery and thus store the same charge? (theoretically)

Hello,
I know people have talked again and again about this problem. But I have to ask again because until now I did not found any solution. I have a N7000 and a 7000mah battery (I had in the past a 5000mah battery). My mobile phone looks like a old TV but guess what, the battery holds maximum one day! I have had the problem with all my mobiles in the past (HTC HD2, HTC sensation). I have tried to find the problem by using betterbatterystate with no success. I always turn off bluetooth, GPS and so on. I have installed juice defender ultimate for a long time on my mobile, it makes everything worst. I have really tried too many things, but they all did not help. Is there something that I am missing??? Or is it android?? Is iphone better than that? I am a heavy user but maximum one day with 7000mah?? With the original battery I have to laugh when I look at my battery consumption.
Please give me some new tips. Something that really works. What is wrong with me????
It depends on how you use it....
Most smartphone should have no problem with 48+hrs "standby time"
But in most cases, the only thing that consume the most energy is the display.
I always keep it at the lowest. (only turn on auto while using under sunlight)
I turn off gps, mobile data, wifi. (only turn them on when I need them)
I get around 5 hours (max) with the stock battery. (Screen on time)
But if you are gaming, well you will be lucky if you even get 3 hours.
For games, its depends on how its being code. I have 2D games (Kairosoft games eg. Game Dev Story) which has a greater impact on battery life than a 3D game.
*There are a lot of fake batteries out there, falsely labelling their battery with higher mah. Good battery usually cost $50+.
a 7000mAh should be around $80 (exclude shipping)
Also, a 7000 mAh battery would be three times the size of the original. I honestly believe that the announced 7000 mAh batteries are no where near their announced capacity.
My suggestion would be to buy an original samsung battery. That is what I did and the battery lasts for a day, or for 6-8 hrs with heavy usage.

never trust an app to tell you how your battery are doing.
I would recommend you to buy an original Samsung battery. They have a life span of several years, but should be changed after one year as the capacity deteriorates.

I dont play any games with the phone. I use it mostly to call or chat or browse. Regarding the fake battery you are may be right. It costs only about 15 $. I have switched back to the original battery but still, it does not look good. I still dont know what is wrong with my n7000
