Sometimes I switch ROM's only to find that the widgets I liked from the previous ROM are not present in the new one. Is out possible to make a flashable .zip file with the widgets I like?
Note: all the widgets I'm thinking of are from ROM's based on Captivate leaks, to be flashed on ROM's based on the same leaks (ie. Kh, kj, kk, etc.)

Just extract them from the zip file of the other roms system/app/ folder. Then copy them to the system/app folder of your current rom using root explorer or es file manager, and you should be good to go. Easy as pie.

Can we push the /lib and /*wallpaper.apks from the 2.1 Sense LWP for the Legend/Rosie Ports to the FroYo ROMs?
Also, if we can, can I just make a use Root Explorer and delete the old Lib files and paste the new ones... aka Kang the Libs? And can I just do the same for the /LWP.apks?
Gracies-qüey.

Hello fellow xda members. I had a problem the other day. I installed sgs tools and tried downloading a different launcher. It loaded the launcher fine but I wasn't satisfied. I tried restoring it but it gives the error "folder not found." I was wondering if anybody knows how to reinstall the built in default tw launcher and if I can possibly restore the layout.

I'm sure you could find the apk with a search.
Are you running a custom rom?
No, I'm runnin default android 2.2 froyo. Rooted, but nand backup doesn't work either. A few months ago, I tried backing up with rom manager, but after rebooting, their still wasn't any backups availible to restore. When I boot into system recovery, it doesn't even open cyogenmod reovery.

CM revovery? Stock 2.2? I'm confused.
I tried. Google doesn't show any, only custom launchers and I don't want that.

Bump...
Did you manually check the sgs tools folder for the backup of your stock launcher?
I've been using the gingerbread launcher from the market and I really like it. Just putting it out there to think about it.
Sorry I meant clockwork recovery mod. THAT didn't work or I wouldn't be asking for a way to reinstall default tw launcher. Thanks for all the current ideas

If you still need it, I attached it for you. Just drop it in the system/app folder. Good luck.
Never mind.someone else got it.

The one from the market is super easy. And if you accidentally delete it, it's there to reinstall
This is the one from my phone. Dont know if it is what you are looking for as i am currently running Continuum, but good luck.
I think you might need the .odex file as well since I recall seeing that you are running stock 2.2. Did you delete that file?
I'm not sure. How do I check?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
You can use Root explorer or a similar app and navigate to system/app. See if there are .odex files for the corresponding apk's. If the one for the launcher is missing than that would cause the issue. What happens when you try to run the launcher? does it just force close?
edit: I was able to find the apk and .odex file from a stock 2.2 build. Just drop it in hopefully this works. Just unzip and extract the files manually.
I can't find it. All there is is the .odex for the tw launcher wallpaper

Does this add on to the existing or totally replace them?
It replaces only the ui sounds

Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app

Your updater script is deleting the existing folders and replacing them with the ones in this Zip. I don't want to remove the existing sounds. I am going to extract the Zip, and copy paste the files in to respective folders using root explorer. Will that work?

Hi everyone!
The thing is, I hate the stock android emoticons, so I made these myself which I think they look nice.
Two packs, one pack they have 36x36 pixels res, the other one 46x46, why? If you use the normal screen 240dpi, then use the 36x36 emoticons, if you use for example SlimBean rom at its default 182dpi, use the 46x46 pack, otherwise they will look too small.
Bellow you can see how they look using the 46x46 at 182dpi, using SlimBean rom.
I also made a lock screen unlock button with neXus X shape
I hope you like it.
ATTENTION: this aren't installation zip's, you must unpack and replace the png files in Mms.apk, Framework.apk and Talk.apk in any rom zip file and gapps, I use winrar to do this, I believe 7zip does the same. This is intended for rom developers and who likes to change things their own way, like I do
Keep getting installation aborted? Do I just put it on sd card and flash?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda app-developers app
Pretty sure the emoticons are part of the framework. This zip won't install them. You would need to add them into the framework yourself.

Yes, this zip's won't install anything, they are supposed to be unpacked and replace the correspondent ones in Mms.apk, Framework.apk and also Talk.apk inside of any gaaps package, if you want. I use winrar to do this, to customize rom graphics on my own way.

I was doing some looking around and i found the launcher and circle widget will work on my rooted droid 4 with the JB OTA.
i installed all 3 files in the zip with the Motorola Files program(CircleWidget3D.apk,Homescreen.apk,Weather.apk)
i did do this on stock rom in slot 1 to be safe
only problem i see is when you pick a widget to put on a home screen it will not put the one you picked there. It will pop up a list then you have to select the widget you want from there.
this is NOT a flashable zip.
it does not remove the stock launcher and the 3 files can be uninstalled.
if you want to give it a try you can download it here Link
As Always If You Break Your Phone It Is Not On Me
only thing i dont like is that it lags a slight bit when moving things/swiping through apps, but otherwise its pretty good. the widget choosing thing only adds 1 more second to my experience so it's not terrible
Will it work on an unrooted device?

I made a flashable version of these files for the easy way to install them

It should. seeing that its just apks. just use the file browser to install the apks and make sure unknown sources is enabled in your security settings
