Shut down Problem ! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hy guys! I have a problem. My phone is shutting down in my pocket . I used JVT with Semaphore . Now i returned to JVQ . I need to recalibrate my battery? I need an answer quickly ! thanks

No need to recalibrate battery. Probably a kernel problem - are you oc/uv?
Flash another kernel, use a kernel cleaning script - your issue should disappear.

Problem persist !
i realise that my phone is shutting down when i hit it accidentaly. it is normal? Can be an hardware problem? Even if i shake it fast it is shutting down .Sometimes i found it closed in my pocket. What can i do? . Thanks!

Are you using stock battery - is it loose?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium

Yes, is stock battery. It`s autonomy is 1 day, 1 day and a half

Sounds like a service centre job mate.

After i returned to JVQ my phone work perfectly...Is a week from than and my phone not closed. I think that Semaphore 1.8 kernel was to blame. Thanks for all! Have a nice day !

Didn't I suggest changing kernel in my first post?????
Anyways, at least it's sorted.

I guess the problem is "sleep of death". use "load monitor"app for the solution.

thank u i thought it was a problem since i heard some one say that he had some hardware replaced by the service cener due to this, howevere so u experience the same flickering when wifi is on miui ? and btw how is the battery life with mintberry miui, and thaks for the fast reply
Always flickers when I turn wifi on mate, always has.
I find battery to be good on mintberry, but it really depends on your kernel and modem.... Give it a try, i guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Mint berry bug ?

Hi ! Two months ago tried this rom and tried again last week.
Nice except when phone is powered off and when I charge it the phone wakes up and boots up by on its own ! So I could not close the phone and charge it overnight but instead was forced to keep it on !
Bit of a pain ! Anyone can answer as to why this happens ? Thanks !

It's a kernel issue, try different kernel.

Battery drain after restarting note on 4.0.4

My battery has been sluggish right after updating 4.0.4. Right after restarting my device, i left only 20% of battery instead of 90% before restarting. Im getting sick n tired of samsung. Thers always a problem after software update. Im wondering wether they ever tested their software before releasing it to consumer. LOUSY

Calibrate your battery.
Let it empty untill blackout. Take out battery for 2 min then put it back again, and charge it to full, do not push the on button while charging.
My suggestion is to install and SPYCPU podesiš processor clock so you would not spend the battery more than they need. We also have a large selection governo, naćićeš best balance of performance and battery life.
Thanks jonpaslim! i will try to do that and will update the results

The total of 1 week I was on both OS builds I had these issues that I identified to be the battery:
Facebook
GPSD
and then not going into deep sleep (the phone gets warm)
Badass Battery (now another name, but you can still search Badass battery) and BBS (Better Battery Stats) helped me.
Thanks zkye.
So far i hv been using pretty alot of apps. Been using carat, netqin and cpu spy. Well the batt is still i would say average.. Im wondering how to read this thing on cpu spy. Especially the deep sleep graph. Is it sufficient? Or am i doing the wrong thing or what?

You can check version in settings, then about phone in bottom Guess you are on stock. Be carefull wiping, factory resetting and deleting large files as kernel can trigger a bug in emmc chip, corrupting partitions.
good you started analysing root causes. Always best case.
now if you dont care for warrantee you can follow directions from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29139461 to get back to starting point of install. Or to install the awesome speedmod kernel.
Alteratively you can add apps one by one and together with battery usage analysed you can fin culprits. With tools like betterbatterystats, cpu spy and badassbattery monitor

did you try re-calibrating your battery?
Hi xfox,
Done with calibrating as in let it empty, take out the batt for a while then turn it on again. It seems okay for now. Is there any other way instead? Im sorry for asking this stupid question again and again. And thank to all of ya for replying my so called newby question. Lol.

Thanks baz,
How i wish i could use those speedmod kernel and so on. Well im quite afraid to root it cuz im not too sure that im gonna use this phone for a long time. As the phone value will decrease if i void the warranty. But thx for replying my post tho. As for now im still monitoring my batt behaviour.

this done it for my brothers Note
thanks
Galaxy Note problem
When I got my Galaxy Note, the battery used to last for 10 hrs on GB. After upgrading to ICS, that time dropped to 8 hrs. And after ICS updates, it went down to less than 4 hrs since it was discharging much fatser than charging, and it was the same whether I used the original power charger or direct USB cable.
The original charger is an adapter + USB cable.
Everything went fine when i changed the USB and used the one originally used to charge the Sony 3D glasses.
Now it's charging normally and the discharge rate is around 8% /hr with WIFI and mobile data ON.
Hope it will work for you.

Battery Life Problem (4-5 hours)

My phone was working fine and battery timing was 1.5 to 2 days but accediently i broke my phone's charger (when it was separate from phone). So
I charged my mobile from computer via original usb cable and my phone was heating up alot in these three days while charging, it did'nt happen before during charging. So I purchased a new charger and after 100% charging the battery got completely empty in 4-5 hours and this happens again and again. So I purchased original battery and it is also giving timing of 4-5 hours.
I reset my phone and nothing happend. Even I didn't install any application in my phone.
The OS version is 2.3.6.
Please tell me the solution if there is hardware or software problem.
Hmm... it seems it was your OS. Try flashing other ROM.
I don't think it is a soft problem, is a hardware one. Read the data from the original charger and try to found one exactly like it. (data=input/output/freq)

I have found the solution but it is temporary...... after full charge I put out the battery for 30 and then put in phone and it gave backup of 1.5 days but after discharge I charged it again and the problem again started...... So I again put out the battrey for 30 minutes and It again gave back up of 1.5 days........ I want to know is there any permanent solution of it..
Plz tell me what is the problem....
Maybe you should reflash your rom
emanoN v7

Take out the back panel , and see if the Battery is SWOLLEN.
