My battery has been sluggish right after updating 4.0.4. Right after restarting my device, i left only 20% of battery instead of 90% before restarting. Im getting sick n tired of samsung. Thers always a problem after software update. Im wondering wether they ever tested their software before releasing it to consumer. LOUSY

Calibrate your battery.
Let it empty untill blackout. Take out battery for 2 min then put it back again, and charge it to full, do not push the on button while charging.
My suggestion is to install and SPYCPU podesiš processor clock so you would not spend the battery more than they need. We also have a large selection governo, naćićeš best balance of performance and battery life.
Thanks jonpaslim! i will try to do that and will update the results

The total of 1 week I was on both OS builds I had these issues that I identified to be the battery:
Facebook
GPSD
and then not going into deep sleep (the phone gets warm)
Badass Battery (now another name, but you can still search Badass battery) and BBS (Better Battery Stats) helped me.
Thanks zkye.
So far i hv been using pretty alot of apps. Been using carat, netqin and cpu spy. Well the batt is still i would say average.. Im wondering how to read this thing on cpu spy. Especially the deep sleep graph. Is it sufficient? Or am i doing the wrong thing or what?

You can check version in settings, then about phone in bottom Guess you are on stock. Be carefull wiping, factory resetting and deleting large files as kernel can trigger a bug in emmc chip, corrupting partitions.
good you started analysing root causes. Always best case.
now if you dont care for warrantee you can follow directions from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29139461 to get back to starting point of install. Or to install the awesome speedmod kernel.
Alteratively you can add apps one by one and together with battery usage analysed you can fin culprits. With tools like betterbatterystats, cpu spy and badassbattery monitor

did you try re-calibrating your battery?
Hi xfox,
Done with calibrating as in let it empty, take out the batt for a while then turn it on again. It seems okay for now. Is there any other way instead? Im sorry for asking this stupid question again and again. And thank to all of ya for replying my so called newby question. Lol.

Thanks baz,
How i wish i could use those speedmod kernel and so on. Well im quite afraid to root it cuz im not too sure that im gonna use this phone for a long time. As the phone value will decrease if i void the warranty. But thx for replying my post tho. As for now im still monitoring my batt behaviour.

this done it for my brothers Note

Galaxy Note problem
When I got my Galaxy Note, the battery used to last for 10 hrs on GB. After upgrading to ICS, that time dropped to 8 hrs. And after ICS updates, it went down to less than 4 hrs since it was discharging much fatser than charging, and it was the same whether I used the original power charger or direct USB cable.
The original charger is an adapter + USB cable.
Everything went fine when i changed the USB and used the one originally used to charge the Sony 3D glasses.
Now it's charging normally and the discharge rate is around 8% /hr with WIFI and mobile data ON.
Hope it will work for you.
please help me, my battery is draining like HELL on my ace, i have just installed CM7 Apocalypse because on Stock it drained too much, but now is worst. It started dropping from 100 to 74 now its stopped at 74 but anyway help, i have used all kernels.

That doesn't help man.
Probably a battery calibration problem... Wait until ALL the battery has drained, when it reaches about 2-3% then screenshot. The battery's indicator in the ace is quite buggy. When it says 74% it probably means 90%

Also you can try juicie defender, search it on the playstore.
Just fully charge your phone. Not when it hits 100% in 30 minutes you gonna pull the charger.

If your ROM drains too much battery, try another, such as droidace, or maxiAce I'm using now, both of them are good at battery as well as the UI.

This is common in Cyanogenmod roms. So, Firstly, change your Battery Status Style to Icon.
The instant when battery says 100% or charged, actually it's not fully charged. You'll still see the spark in battery's icon. Keep it charging for extra 30-45 mins. Also, when the battery is fully charged, you'll not see that spark in battery's icon while the charger is plugged in.

Wipe baterry status should help, go to CWM recovery / adwanced / choose it: wipe baterry status and restart.

it could happen with any battery if quality is not good or diminished. I think so at least Check your battery, does it look out of shape?
You could try a friends battery, or an alternative rom could also be another issue.
You can also experiment with the power saving features to turn them of.
Uninstall if any, power saving apps/ screenfilter apps.

Doesn't the warranty on batteries last for 12 months ? Why not get Samsung to replace it if it fails withing that time frame.
Then again, For the price of one, Is it worth all the aggro of sending it to Samsung, Waiting, Waiting some more, Then having it sent back ?
They do go pretty cheap online, And the Anker 5000mah are worth considering (except the size increase)

As they're classed as consumables I believe warranty on batteries is only 6 months, but I think it would be great if we could somehow make samsung aware of how short the battery life is on these, maybe some sort of petition.

Hey guys I just got a miui ROM running on my ace and the battery goes from full to empty in about a hour and half is there a fix anywhere for this I did have a look just I didn't see it buts that's not to say I didn't miss it. Would be grate full of any help
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
This problem could be could be due to the rom that you are using, although it seems strange for it to be that bad.
One thing you could try is underclocking to save power, it wont make too much difference but it is a start.
A second solution is to simply buy a new battery as your current one may just be old.
there is also the obvious basics: low screen brightness, stopping any unwanted services and try to steer away from live wallpapers
hope this helps.
You should test another rom
Change your ROM brother !
I've tryed a few rom's since I posted this battery must be done in. It fully charges in less than 10 mins and runs out in just over an hour fed up charging my phone lol

yes, its probably best to get a new on then, be careful though a lot of the ones on sale are fake so make sure that you find a real one.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a Galaxy ExhibitG and it starts to shut down constantly everytime I open too many apps or run something too heavy. And it won't let me power on the phone and even if I can the bettery status went crazy (from 90% to 0% then 20%)
One solution to this is to plug my phone in the charger constantly, but I need to take it to work and school.
The problem actually started to happen after I flashed Linaro CM 10.1 romm by smartguy(for got the number)
Any idea why?
Thank you.
