I've been searching for the last two days...alas I can't find what I'm looking for. My EVO 4G will not connect to my Galaxy tab 8.9. When I had the wifi 2.8 it connected with no problem. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
I have a gsm based tab and i am running ssserpine's gsm alpha 2.5 hc port.
I also have an old linksys 2.4ghz with the latest firmware on it.
When i turn the wifi on the tab it cannot find my network. It finds my neighbours though. When i had froyo this didn't happen. However, when i put it on overcome 1.6.4 i couldn't find it as well. I used wifi analyzer and wifi manager qand they couldn't find it as well. Please help.
Thanks
Btw
It is 802.11g.
I'm trying to set the MTU of my Tab to 1472 to connect it to a Motorola Triumph via ad-hoc wifi (Barnacle). The Tab is rooted and I've replaced the wpa_supplicant file with one I found on the Net the has been modified to see ad-hoc WAPs with the Tab.
I'm running Barnacle on a Motorola Triumph that supposedly has an MTU of 1472.
I can connect my Win7 Dell Netbook to the Barnacle ad-hoc WAP and I have full web access (chg'd Dell MTU to 1472 to enable this).
When I connect the Tab to the Triumph Barnacle WAP, I can only connect to Google sites via the Tab's browsers (stock and Skyfire). Some info I saw on Howard Forums has blamed wifi connection problems with the Triumph on its non-standard MTU setting.
I'm a noob at this stuff, but I think maybe changing the Tab MTU to 1472 will help me connect.
Any thoughts?
Can anyone tell me how to change the Tab MTU?
Thanks!

Did you ever get help from another source on this or did you figure out how to change the MTU on your Galaxy Tab? I have a Galaxy Tab and I am thinking about buying a Moto Triumph and I would like to tether them if I can.
I never got any response on this post so I just gave up on it.
Yeah, I haven't been able to find anything either. I just put CM7 on it and WiFi tether works great.

Hello
Verizon Moto Droid one, rooted and running liquid gingerbread 3.2 rom. Tried OpenGarden, Barnacle and wifi tether still with no luck getting my Acer iconia tab a500 to see the wifi signal. Tab sees my home router and my buddy's AndroidTether from his phone. Am I missing a setting? Tried several roms, no wifi tether. Any suggestions?
Hi,
I am using JB CM10 and just wondering if there is any working solution for adhoc wifi?
Use connectify-me for pc to make a hotspot

Hi
Thanks for the hint but seems that my question was bit unclear.
As my tablet is wifi only, every now and then I would need to connect to adhoc wifi i.e. to a mobile.
So I am looking for solution how to connect to adhoc wifi. In mean while I did some searching and if I got it right CM10 does not support adhoc connection (yet). It works in CM9.
One solution woulb be to change my N9 to iphone as for some reason they establish wifi differently so tablet sees iphone wifi but not N9

Did you try 'Wi-Fi Direct' in the triple-dot menu in the WiFi area?
Hi,
Yes I have tried the direct wifi and also that does not find ac-hoc networks.
So most likely I just have to wait until CM10 supports adhoc connections...
I have read a lot of toturials about this, but none of them worked for me. I have a P1000 Tab (running CM10 JB4.1.2). It would be cool if somebody could tell me how could I connect my Tab to an Ad-Hoc network. I have a Nokia device (running Belle) and I want to share my internet connection through wi-fi using JoikuSpot.
