I tried it on a broken beats Rom - Joelz TwoPointThree 3.5.
It flashed, the boot initially took a little longer but I went to try it and no sound. Should I try a different player instead of stock or a different Rom? I was thinking of switching to ICS momentarily because Newts 3.5 has gone broken on me.

Just flashed this on a new flash of the official CM 7.1. I haven't had any trouble with music playing or clipping. Just pure sound. Albeit I did not do a comparison so I cannot say if I hear a difference in quality but I am happy with it and will continue to flash it.
What is really Beats by Dre? Sorry

well if the rom didnt have working sound before its not going to give it to it now. so i guess it needs to be cm7
Can someone else confirm that this works on another GB incredible build???
Why beats?

did you try it?
Can i get a link to the original post? I dont feel like making an account on another site just to get a file.
edit: nm with googles help i found the file, i can confirm it works on miui
Joelz new 3.5 had a broken beats file allowing it to not work. Now I switched to cm7, listened to the music first. Very shotty headphones (ifrogz) as my latest earphones died on me.
The sound was eh.. flashed this beats zip and came back to hear it, the clarity and quality increased so much. Should note there is a tolerable difference when not using headphones as your speaker phone may actually sound like bass. Well at least I can gear it, I will try it on Joelz 3.5 again. Cause there is no notification or anything say it works its difficult to pinpoint if it only works on stock players or various ones.
I am hopefully getting new earphones tonight, JVC Xtreme Explosives is what I'm looking at.

I've been using this mod since I saw it on the portal the other day. (or twitter. I can't remember)
It really does make quite a bit of a difference. For you guys trying it out, use nicer headphones. The difference is marginal on $15 skullcandy buds, but on high end speakers, it's really noticeable. Definitely worth the flash.

Here's the file, no need to register somewhere else....
Just flashed it, does this add a menu entry/some new setting to the interface or no?
Can anyone confirm this working (and making a difference) with Gingerbread-Inc-Deck?

May i send to my ladies phone, sir? I have tested side by side with same phone using same ROMs (CM7 newest nightly) using 115 by Treyarch (yes the Black Ops zombie song) and quite a noticeable difference. Also not sure, but I had tested started with volume at 50% and my phone with the zip was louder by 2 notches (decreased volume to regulate) and her phone at 100% was to mine at 80%. I do not use DSP manager as I get a weird noise from it after any sound from speaker ends. Anyone else experience similar volume performance?
I would like to know what is not working in the new "stable" release of CM 10.
Thanks!

I have the same question !
FM radio works for me with CM10+Semaphore kernel and Spirit FM app. I think it even works on stock CM10 if you use Spirit FM, but take care, it's on your own risk.

Just for clarification, some people have reported Spirit FM breaking their phone's speaker, very small percentage mind you, but enough to not risk it...
In short, don't use Spirit FM with your phone speaker and you'll be fine.

The FM radio drivers are closed source drivers from Samsung and thus very hard to port.
You may use Spirit FM but it can break your phones speakers so I wouldn't use it.

Nobody has ever explained why this is. Does it somehow magically force the speaker voltage to go ridiculously high or somehow bypass the maximum volume? Can any care to explain how an app can physically break your speaker

This is not a new subject, but I can't seem to find an answer for it. When using bluetooth for telephone calls, the phone makes a very loud sound when the calls ends. I am rooted, so I though if I could find the sound file it uses, I could edit the file to make it softer. Trouble is, I can't find the right file. Does anyone know the name of the file and where it is located?
Is the sound the same regardless if it is connected to a BT enabled car stereo, a BT headset, or a BT enabled computer?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Infinity TF700 running Android JB (rooted) via Tapatalk HD
Yes, in fact, it seems to be the same end of call sound you hear when it is not connected to bluetooth.

Could it be the one located in system/media/audio/alert?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Infinity TF700 running Android JB (rooted) via Tapatalk HD
I listened to that file but it seemed different because of a different tone at the very end. I decided to try anyway and I used Audacity to lower the volume of the file and then tried it. Still almost blows my eardrums out, so that's not the right one.

I was afraid of that - I'm now thinking it is a 'generated' tone that only applies to Bluetooth connections.
Let me look around a bit more.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Infinity TF700 running Android JB (rooted) via Tapatalk HD
Yea, that would seem to make sense. I looked through all of the folders under audio and couldn't find one that sounded right. Thought if might be in the UI folder, but no luck.
Thanks for your help.

Your headphones sound a little distord?? or with more treble?? if is true, is a impedance problem, try to test on a samsung device or an iphone and feel the difference. Other test can be press the button to answer call on the mic, and hear if the sound is better.
Sorry for my bad english

I used dsp & changed configuration to vocal boost, it's better but still lack of quality.

I have the same problem with all Nightly versions. On some, headphones and speaker work at the same time, on others the device is not recognizing the headphones and plays on speakers.
It is not the headphones as it works ok on other roms or stock. Also I am using original Sony-Ericsson MH-810 (3,5mm) handsfree or SonyEricsson headphones and the media buttons work just the sound won't switch to headphones only.

Take a guess.
Hint:
What came with the phone?
I know that the jack is an audio output for the earphones.
In some phones it can be used as an input. And in some notebooks too, for example.
