hi all,i m newbi in nexus one, after i flash my n1 to froyo...i cannot insatall app anymore, can some body help me..pls...thank you very much!
It would be helpful if you could tell us:
1) Which ROM you used to get to 2.2
2) What happens when you try to install an app? Step by step, the actions you take and the result
3) Any error messages, codes, or other details that might help
I also could not install apps
I had the same problem. Here are the details:
1. ROM n1-Sh0t with kernal and new keyboard
2. Applications that would not install:
a) Nitrodesk Touchdown
b) MyTracks
I cannot give you much detail. I tried to install from copies on my sd card and just got a message that the app would not install. I also downloaded from the web using market and got the same message. The apps would download but would not install.

I was flash yesterday with this rom
1.Step_One_Froyo_Radio_Update
2.RoDrIgUeZsTyLe_FroYo_MCR_R16_MOD_V1-6_ROM
after this, I did well all with this rom (included install app to ext)
but..this morning I was reboot my N1,all app I install to ext cannot read anymore (lost icon at all )
then I cannot install any app again...(messanges show installing now.....long time but cannot complete)
I have the same problem, I can't install any apps. Not from the market and not apk-files from a file browser. It just keep saying 'Installing...'
I was on [email protected] MCR Mod Rom V1.7 and everything worked fine.
Then I tried out Kang-o-rama Froyo and that's when the problem started. I did a complete wipe before installing. I did a recovery, but when I was back on my nandroid recovery I could still not install any apps.
Went back to a stock 2.1 I had on my memory card and then I could install apps. But when going to 2.2 again I still can't install any apps.
I was install RoDrIgUeZsTyLe_FroYo_MCR_R16_MOD_V1-7__FIX rom
also try "n1-sh0t" rom
and then I try to install another app...but I cannot complete install at all
then I click “Dev Tools" (in laucher) \ Development setting
I got this message =
The application Dev Tools (process com.android development)
has stopped unexpedly.Please try again.
what's wrong with this...
can any one help me up..thank you
(sorry about my poor english)
then I go back to 2.1 rom,it run very well
So I deleted the '.android_secure' folder on my sdcard and did a recovery, now I can install apps again.

External means that you're installing your apps on the sdcard. (They are installed in the '.android_secure' folder) If any widgets or apps that need root would be installed on the sdcard you should move them to the phone. You can do that by go in to 'settings' >> 'applications' >> 'manage aplications' and find that app, press it, and in its settings you can move it.
Anyways to your problem: The reason why you can't see some apps are because you're running LauncherPro as your home app. You can just kill it and press home so it will re-launch and then you should see your apps again. You might have to do that from time to time after you have rebooted your phone.
Froyo FRF83B stock
I having an issue, recently updated to FRF83B and have the latest radio 4.06 however having issues when I try to install an app from the Market (first it will download and then it will come to the installing part) the phone freezes and then restarts.
So I can not install any apps on the market, and I am searching far and wide for a solution, does anyone know what I can do to fix this up!?
Hi Everyone,
Looking for help for an issue, I installed the new android market and was messing around with Titanium Backup (forgot to backup the app, dumb me!) anyway I tried to uninstall the new market to go back to the old one but when I did this the market app is gone from the manage apps area. My phone is a N1, running 2.3.4 and rooted, this what I have tried:
- Install the old market manually from a downloaded vending.apk, not working crashes to .com.android.vending every time
- After this I went to look in the /system/app folder for vending.apk and the app is not there, neither I am unable to copy the app using Droid Explorer or Root explorer, it says it is coping the app but is not there
- Re-install gingerbread update again to see if it gets the app back, did not work, still not in system/app folder
Does anyone know why I am unable to copy the vending.apk to the system/app folder? the phone is rooted but still can-t
Thanks!
If you're having problems with root permissions, try using ROM Manager to fix permissions. Another possibility could be busybox, so I recommend installing the version with Titanium backup (under the Problems? section of the menu).
Updating the market can be tricky, but I always find wiping data from Google Services Framework and (use app manager) Market (easier to use Titanium), and rebooting helps. Make sure you reboot before trying to use the Market...
I didn-t know about the Fix Permissions feature of ROM manager, I tried it and it work, I can now place the file on the system/app folder.
Thanks a lot!
i use link2sd with external 2nd mount... most of my apps are linked to external mount..... using stock app, i deleted gtalk a while ago, i flashed via WCM gapps again and everything installed correclty, still tweetdeck and viber dissapeared (are the only ones i notice since i use them a lot) now whenever i try to install viber via google play, it says "error missing shared library" i think i has something to do with the linking in link2sd ... but i dont know how to solve it, anyone has info on this ???
TLDR: cant install apps, stock 2.3.6 ktm release, using link2sd....
issue: updating, downloading by playstore
ROM: cm7.2 nightly 16/9/2012
description: while updating or downloading apps, they are stuck on some point so that I have to kill the playstore the relaunch it to continue.
I have deleted Vending.apk marketupdater.apk
and /data/ com.andorid.vening
com.andorid.veningupdater
what to do?
This happened right after you flashed the rom? If so,reflash
If it was working fine before, then need more information
Insert witty sentence here
Maybe something wrong with download manager app, have you tried downloading anything else other than apps or updates?
the problem occurred because of Gemini App
I was running stock lollipop 5.0.1 on my note 4. I rooted my phone and supersu was installed during the process. I then installed Titanium backup and deleted all unwanted bloatware. Then i decided i wanted to unroot my phone( so i could be able to do normal software updates / and run stock rom with no bloatware). To flash back to stock i flashed N910TUVU1COD6_N910TTMB1COD6_N910TUVU1COD6 via odin. This however reinstalled all system bloatware that i removed with titanium backup. SO THEN, i re- rooted, re-installed titanium backup & re-deleted system bloatware, then went to supersu, and selected UNROOT from the apps options. This closed the app and restarted my phone. When it booted back up i went to the market to reinstall titanium backup i get this messege " Unknown error code during application install:-504"
My phone is currently stock rooted, with supersu installed, awaiting the fix so that i can install titanium backup.
PLEASE HELP; I am trying to install a custom rom, and need my apps backed up via titanium backup!!

Try clearing data from the play store app and Google play services then redownload ttb. If that doesn't work you could try wiping dalvik and cache in recovery but it'll take 20 minutes for your phone to boot after doing that and your phone will get hot in the process!
Thank you. I have done that about 3 times with no success. Even unrooted and re rooted. I'm really trying to avoid having to factory reset. And even if do, I don't know if it will fix what this problem is.
Sorry buddy. Start over. Odin to stock + factory reset.
You can then run stock rooted without the bloat.
Or custom rommed up.
We probably aren't getting any important updates soon.
My error 504 Fix - Sprint LG G4
Because I went through hell trying to fix this error while reinstalling Titanium Backup *Root* on my once rooted, then unrooted, then rerooted Sprint LG G4, I will explain what finally worked for me.
First off, the app was installed and working fine and was used to backup my entire phone to the TB cloud. So, when I rerooted my phone and expected to reinstall TB and then go get my stuff, so as to basically restore the phone to the way it was before unrooting, I was pissed that I kept getting that stupid error code. I tried all the suggestions for fixing; delete the cache & data for Google Play Store & Google Services Framework, remove gmail account and reboot, and delete data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup file. Nothing, by itself, worked. So here's what I did:
1. I downloaded a file managing app for root. I used File Explorer (for root).
2. Using File Explorer, I found the data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup file and deleted it.
3. I deleted the cache & data for Google Play & Google Services Framework.
4. I removed my Gmail account and rebooted the phone.
5. I opened Google Play Store. At this point the app will ask for your account info and when done, your Gmail account will be back.
6. I located the Titanium Backup *Root* app and installed it. It's important to note that if you have the Pro version of TB, I found you should install the free version 1st, then install the Pro version after that.
Presto! No Error Code 504! I had TB back on my phone, once again!!!
Hope this helps anyone having this same issue. I see no reason why this shouldn't work on any phone, but I can't say for sure.

I tried but it didn't work
I even tried to install the Titanium.apk directly ( copied from another phone) but I am receiving the error message:
application not installed.
Any help please?
Daniel
That's all that I did. Recently I had that problem once again. And it was fixed... Forgot the steps to get there. But you may try using cleaner apps or SDmaid to get rid of the corpses.
I just had the same problem and step two
2. Using File Explorer, I found the data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup file and deleted it.
did it for me.
Chris

THX!!!
I also had the same problem, did everything not helped.

Just this step fixed the problem, installed OK. Didnt have to do any of the other things.
