CM7 wipe/reset contacts etc

I just flashed cm7 after a full wipe. Now I put all programs that i wanted to keep on my SD card, but i did lose all contacts (i backed up so no prb). I intentionally did not install the gapps and was trying to only install the market apk so that i could install the gapps manually ensuring they will update later.
how should i handle this? i dont have titanium backup or something, does that work? because I DO want to execute a good full wipe, but obviously I want important data like, sms's; contacts etc to be saved and automatically imported after i flashed cm7
if i transfered a program, for example barcodescanner to SD-card via the manage menu from settings, is that enough to get it back after wiping/factory reset? so I just use the OI file explorer and install the apk... I assume all the apk's are findable, because I am now restoring, so I cannot check, but the whatsapp apk was there and installing worked.
when the above indeed works, does that automatically ensure market updates? or will the programs appear as not yet installed in the market? that will be nasty for some paid apps.
and once again. can I, after a full wipe and flashing cm7, install the market apk from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10527774&postcount=1993
and then just install the gapps from the market? i want that because i could never update google-apps
Hope someone can help me out with these questions, shouldnt be to hard i hope.
edit; I now see that the apk's are not there. I just tried installing whatsapp after flashing cm7 and the apk was there, but apparently that was just about the only program which had a apk in its folder.
one: a wipe deletes the apps on the sd card as well.. so you won't have apps from the old rom on a new one.... use titanium backup.. it DOES work..
two: gapps is better if you *flash* it with the rom.. and they sure get updated.. (if not then you could use rom manager and download the latest gapps update in a zip)
edit: you could even make an update.zip with titanium backup having all the necessary apps that way it would be easier and as you say - automatic..

Contacts are synced using Google cloud sync, built in Android. So is Gmail. So is Google calendar.
Everything else is erased, and kept nowhere. Moving apps to SD won't do a thing for you.
Use Titanium Backup for apps and their data, SMS Backup&restore for SMS, APN backup&restore for APN (if you had to enter one manually), Call backup & restore for call log.

[Q] criskelo rom v79 problem with apps

I have a problem with the criskelo rom v79.
i installed some apps from the android market.
after the first reboot some apps are lost.
the phone says "this app is not installed" when i trie to launch it.
an i lost some importend apps as
market
gmail
so i have no possibility to reinstall them.
any solution????
Thanks in advance for help
EDIT 1:
I extractred the complete instalation zip file and installed all lost apps from the .apk files
youtube works but lost agein after reboot
google maps works
gmail installed but does not start
market not found in apk
superuser works
root exlorer works, but lost again after reboot
so any ideas?

[Q] just flashed to ics, plenty of problems tho

i just flashed 4.0.4 ics to my A855 milestone, at first it seems that everything is working fine, but boy was i wrong
the phone feature won't work. so i assume text doesn't either. when i try to call it says "mobile network not available". in the stock froyo i remember on the lockscreen and notification pull down it would tell me my network at all times (telus canada), now there's nothing about it there.
and i tried to install the latest google apps which i found in rootzwiki, the download page was goo.im so that's legit right? i can't post the link to it because it won't let me..
all it installed was gmail, google talk, and google search. no play market. what are all the apps that come from the gapps zip?
anyways i tried to download apk installer from the browser play store, then get the play store apk file into my sd and install play store that way, but apk store just won't download for some reason, it says something like "this app will be downloaded to your device shortly" but nothing happens.
1. set Canada(Telus) baseband under Settings>Device>Advanced>Baseband selection and reboot
2. Use the gapps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445209
Regular gapps won't do any good to Milestone because of the limited space in /system. That's why I have to provide special gapps package for Milestone - most of it is installed to /data/vendor instead of /system (as mentioned in that post I linked).
Note that if you applied the gapps from goo.im, you will have to re-apply the CM9 update zip first, then install the gapps I mentioned above.

Play store doesn't installs apps anymore

Today started to have problems with updating apps from the store.
Seems I can install new app from the store, but not to update...
It says I haven't enough space, but I've 3gb on internal and 22gb on external.
I tried to wipe /data /cache and restore factory version of the store but the problem still happens.
Wiped /cache of google play services too..
Looking around, seems to be releated some odex files in /data/app or /data/app-lib (I'm not sure)
I've also read it's related to Download Manager disabled/freezed (is not my case)
Any ideas? (although I'll think the only solution - and most suggested - is the well known nandroid backup&restore)
Try using modded version of google play

Can't install it as it overwrites the store (which is considered as an installed/upgrading app).
In any case, I've reinstalled the recoveries (stopped to work, red lights a the boot, now works).
I'll do some security backup and then try install patched store.
If I can't use use the app installation method (not enough space), may I can use adb to push the store .apk?
I suggest you to reflash the same gapps package that you flashed when you flashed your ROM.
If you are going to use a new gapps package, pls wipe system, flash ROM and flash gapps again.

Download modded apk, rename to Phonesky.apk, move to /system/app and substitute the existent apk in there(remember to give right permission) and reboot phone
I reset phone in the end as it started to have problems to reading external sdcard (not mounted but in CWM worked) and has became too laggy.

Problem installing or updating apps on lollipop 5.0.2

I've installed lollipop using TWRP and recovering a backup, and everything seems to be fine, except for the fact that now I can't install apps, neither from apks, Google play, can't even update them. When I do from apk it simply says "application not installed" and from Google play it gives an error 504,which you usually fix deleting the apps data and cache, and Google services's too, but that doesn't work.
I was able to do it at first, after I made it 5.0.2,installed all my previous apps, updated the old ones, except Chrome that never allowed me to update it. But now I can't install or update any app. Any idea what could it be?
I thought it may be related to writing permissions but if that was the case I'd have had he problem right from the beginning.
Could it be a problem with the version of Android I installed itself? I mean I could flash apps in, but not install them in the usual ways.
