Has anyone tried or successfully paired a bluetooth mouse with their revolution? Does it work well when using a remote application such as Teamviewer?
I'd kind of be interested in this myself, but given that BT is having issues in GB with the current ROMs, I'm guessing it's not a priority ATM.
If Best Buy carried BT mice i would be able to tell you but my search for them thus far has been major failure.

You'd have to hit the pair button under the mouse, hit the scan then pair on the phone under bluetooth settings and if they could actually see each other, then it will prompt you for a password - something like 0000 or 1234 would be the correct answer.
Saying that, even if they can't see each other, all hope is not lost yet, as the latest version of Revolt is still having some issues in the BT arena.

mind pointing out that button?
Always discoverable, apparently... and it pairs but won't go near connecting. First attempt, settings force closed. Second attempt, connecting stayed grey for a while then went back to paired but not connected in stupid colored letters. Now long press connect doesn't do jack. Open to suggestions...
ill keep fiddling around and update with any new infos...
Additional thoughts; does it need to connect or just pair to use as a pointing device? And, what would the use of a bt mouse be on a touch device? J/w...

I had a similar experience. I finally found a BT mouse at NFM, Gearhead? The mouse will pair but never connects. I do not get the enter pairing key window on my phone. The mouse pairs perfectly with the Xoom when i enter 0000 as the passkey. Looks like we need some more BT drivers.
Also, im 100% stock except for root. I'm downloading GingerVolt as we speak and flashing to see if there's any difference.
GingerVolt made no difference. Any ideas to make it compatible?
It would be epic to find one that can use both mouse buttons and actually work for remoting. even tablet style.
i have never tried it, but it sounds cool
It is interesting because android phones aren't really designed for use with a mouse (they are all touchscreen) So even if you could connect, would it really controll an android phone? Has anybody ever tried a usb mouse on an android phone?

They have one at Verizon, called a media controller that basically acts as a Bluetooth mouse. They are perfect for using your phone in a multimedia dock hooked to a TV. No getting up off the couch. To answer the OPs question, I can pair them but they do not connect and have no functionality.

I read on a forum today that the Nokia N810 (and n800 with firmware up-date) internet tablets support Bluetooth SAP (Sim Access Profile) meaning that they can basically be used like a bluetooth car kit to make and receive calls and display caller I.D. from any host phone that supports SAP (The Athena and TyTn being two that I know of). The N800 and N810 also support Dial Up Networking over bluetooth and many other profiles.
N800s are available for 200 quid from www.cex.co.uk (and probably less on Ebay). I cannot confirm that they support SAP for sure but videos and documentation I've seen sure do indicate this. Integrated with a windows mobile device and Chainfire's WMWifirouter application the two devices could work very well together - particularly since the N800/n810s have a webcam and native Flash 9 support. The N800 probably isn't a GREAT DEAL smaller than the Athena, though the N800 sure is: It looks a bit like a slinky, brushed aluminium TyTn.
As far as I know there is no standalone Bluetooth SAP kit however. Just headsets and earpieces with support for number display.
I hope this is of some help.
Well, whoever make a neat bluetooth headset with a dialpad for things thing will get my bucks thats for sure... bluetooth earpeace just doesn't do it.
BTW how do I make the phone the default application when I turn the screen on? I know this must be a simple thing but after countless hours of searching, still no answer. and I tried all the utils from SPB already
Thanks
BT SAP (Sim Access Profile) Handset Client
I'm also looking for a bluetooth handset that could pair up with my HTC x7501 just like a car kit would. It would be nice to have the x7501 sit on my desk and use a separate handset to make calls with.
LG Style-I. Keypad, caller ID display. No SAP or vibrate alert. I thought about it, but since I want a hands-free headset for the car Im just sticking with my Jabra BT8010, which does have a vibrate feature.

I have found the ultimate bluetooth handset, it's £40 though but defo woth considering

Did you see my post above about the LG Style-I? Its what you are looking for.
Yes, well not quite like the LG Style-I... it has horrible reviews, everything from awkward buttons, poor design to hard to read screen, and so on. It does look cool, but it is not as functional. We live in such a technological revolution that the mere fact that this item does not exists is a step backwards ... The retro phone is much better then the Style-I

Just use it for 1 day, so far it is good. Receive call, making call sound is very clear and good. How about you guys? Any others good brand?

I use these... I work outside and wear glasses. These lg's have served me well... Decent stereo sound, and pairs well with my sprint tab and evo. All controls work and they are comfortable for all day use and don't have a behind the ear form factor that makes a lot of bluetooth headsets very uncomfortable for glasses wearers.

yes! I thought I was the only one, I use my bluetootg keyboard witg enulators, and other games? Love playing doom and prince of persia in ADOSBOX. I recomend trying this out, thinkgeek has a pretty nice keyboard case for it which I use for gaming and typing this post, it does require getting used to. (i really recomend trying adosbox, it is great for classics. all Ive been doing the past few day.)
I was starting to wonder if anyone else had any interest in the subject. Still waiting for the shipment. Will probably look into keyboards soon...I would love to try some descent on my tab.

I ordered an iControlPad too and waiting for it to arrive. After it does I'll post an update on how it is. I plan to use it with fpse, gameboid and n64oid. I have heard that not many android games support buttons via bluez-ime.
My iControlPad came in today. Watch for a post of my impressions this weekend, maybe a few pictures while I'm at it.

Sorry, no time to make a youtube video, but the steps are simple enough.
Once you have a control pad and the free BluezIME app that is available from the market, you basically just treat the ICP (iControlPad) as an extended set of hardware keys in the game/app that you would like to control with it. This means that the ICP is not actually recognized as an ICP, but in simple terms, as a set of 20 hardware keys. Once your pad is recognized and connected through the BluezIME app you just go into the custom button settings to assign what the function of each button is. I did this successfully with both FPse and snes9x EX, and I am certain that many of the emulation apps would be able to do this.
I was not able to get any applications that natively support the ICP to recognize it as such, which I am assuming is because of the restrictions/limitations that Samsung has built into the bluetooth protocols of their devices. EDIT: latest version of FPse did recognize the ICP without BluezIME! BUT, the fact that I was able to work around this with the BluezIME app and custom button settings in my apps of choice makes me very pleased with the purchase.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not much to say about the product itself. It seems well built and I noticed no delay in the controls or problems with gaming situations that require pressing multiple buttons at once. It is about the size of an old NES controller and has 20 programmable buttons when used with the BluezIME app.
My biggest gripe with playing emulators on my tab in the past was that button combinations were very difficult with on-screen controls, and your hands just get in the way of the experience. This device eliminates both of those glaring problems. If you are into emulation, skip the wiimote drama because this is what you are looking for. Personally, I feel that this little device adds a ton of value to my tab.
I got one too and its great. Also I can use it with other devices like laptops and desktop pcs.
Can anyone confirm if this works with the wifi only version (p1010)? I received mine yesterday, and can't get it to connect. I've tried blueZ as well as some of the other modes for the device. Maybe you guys could help?
Hello my fellow XDAers!
I have a blueray player that has an ethernet port. My question is besides using a hardwire. What is the simplest way to connect it to my wireless router?
I thought of several, like a ehternet bridge to my laptop, a wireless ehernet bridge, and the adapter that runs internet threw the powerwires.
Which way is the easiest, lasting and permenent solution (besides hardwire).?

They're all usable and good solutions, but I'd personally go for going through power lines. I don't have it myself but plan to get it very soon. A friend has it and he strongly recommends it. He gets speeds round his whole house that wifi simply could not compete with.

Its like an extension box
You plug it into a socket, and it converts the socket to a socket + Ethernet port
So for e.g.
You plug in one where you place your router, and connect it by a cable
Next, near your TV/DVD player, you connect another, and then connect the cable
And then just you need to do so more setup, cant remember now, a bit sleepy, will post tomorrow
From my fingers to your eyez
It sounds like lies, but it's true!
http://computer.howstuffworks.com/power-network.htm
My mate picked up 2 for a fiver in a charity shop, so he has one in a socket near his router and then can move the other one round the house as required.
I've been advised that there are 2 different types - 85Mbps and 200Mbps. As long as you get the same type then you can mix and match makes, but he got a real bargain. The cheapest I can find on ebay is £32 for 2 200Mbps ones. If you're not too fussed about the bandwidth then you can get them cheaper.

The range is supposed to degrade anything over 300m, so that's quite a lot. Yes, obviously security would be an issue if the communication wasn't encrypted, but it is. You can set the encryption keys yourself, so it's down to you if it's not secure.

So I got my plug's flipped around for the phone to work, and it fits in, lapdock recognizes it, it asked me what dock I wanted to use it as, I put in office, I think? Now I don't have a moise pointer on my screen, I keep swiping the touchpad area and nothing happens, how to I reset what it's suppose to recognize as docking to so I can get that back?
Or is me choosing the wrong dock type even the problem?

Thx I'll try this
Edit: Worked! USB connection just wasn't as good as the HDMI one was, it's a really fragile connection, I can't move the lapdock around like you could with the 4G OG version, not because it doesn't lay in landcape, the phone is very snug, but small wobbles keep disconnecting the usb...
Is this something I jus thave to deal with, or would maybe getting the new lapdock 400 or w/e be a good fix for this? I'm thinking maybe it's because my lapdock is super old, bought it sameday as phone at release. So is my lapdock showing it's age, or is this something we'll all experience?
