Hi everyone I recently update my HD7 and i found the good news in the settings, finally HTC added the internet sharing, enjoy everyone
Awesome!!!
This is awesome! Plugged in, update was there, WiFi sharing! Thanks for the heads up!
I sure hope Tmobile don't yank this!
That's fantastic !
Still nothing. Plugged my phone and Zune says its up to date :|
still nothing for me too. unbranded singapore version
Seems that not everybody is getting these notifications for the 7740.16 & HTC firmware updates. Has anybody have already received it in Spain?
My current setup
Unbranded HTC HD7 T9292
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision number: 2250.21.40502.401
Hardware revision number: 0002
Radio software version: 5.69.09.29a_22.50.50.21U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader version: 4.05.2250.0(129185)
Chip SOC versión: 2.2.5.0
Last night my mozart got the update of internet sharing but still nothing for my HD7..
Same here, our Mozarts have all got the update, our HD7s have not. All of them have had the HTC Euro unbranded rom installed.
I've had my HD7 since launch day in Oct 2010 and been happy so far but I'm getting fed up waiting for the internet tethering option now (unlocked HD7 using o2 sim).
I know it might be off topic but does the lumia have the tethering option enabled?
btw, I had a conversation with HTC asking them where the upgrade is and got this reply
"Thank you for your email. I understand your disappointment and I'm sorry for not having any more information on the matter, if and when HTC will release this update for unlocked and unbranded devices it will be announced on the HTC Facebook page. I would advise to check there for any upcoming news relating to the specific update you wish your device to be updated to. I hope that this information meets with your requirements, should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me again. If this response has resolved your query, and you have no further questions please close this ticket by following the link below. Upon closure of the ticket you will be invited to complete our Customer Satisfaction Survey which should take no more than 1 minute to complete"

Why dont you just update via the official cab thats posted on xda.. Rather than waiting. Look for the official 7740 update cab.
it has nothing to do with 7740, most of us already recieved the latest OS update...
Hi,
same here. Unbranded european HD7 and got the 7740 a few days ago but still no firmware update. I got a ticket opened with the HTC support and they told me that it may take up to 4 months (!) to get all phones updated. I think as soon as they deliver the update to microsoft for distribution to the customers they have no longer influence on when a certain phone gets the update. That's why they told me this rediculous time.
I prepare myself for waiting a bit longer now as MS is still busy delivering the OS update and I believe that they will deal with the manufacturer updates once thats done.
Cheers ... gooselk

there was a fix planned before the end of march wich gonna improve speed and ...
"New driver end of March"
A response from Peter Chou himself (CEO of HTC) has surfaced saying they hope to release a driver at the end of March. Examination of the e-mail and its SMTP headers verifies with very high certainty that this e-mail indeed originated at HTC Taiwan. Ofcourse we have also written our own e-mail to Peter Chou to ask for confirmation.

hmm, i think that elf isn't the same device like kaiser. correct me if i am wrong.
hey guys, anyone know where / when the 6.1 software will be available for the Tilt?
I was told in the month of July, however I have visited the htc site and no 6.1 update is available, any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Chris
I read this morning on another forum that someone had talked to an Att rep and its looking like mid August. Not sure of the validity of it though
there are alot of great 6.1 options here. look around you may find out that they are better than "official" roms.
dude official wm6.1 available since February 2008! check this out

All of the WM6.1 roms for AT&T are leaked/pre-released/testing version. AT&T hasn't released its Official WM6.1 as of yet. No one really seems to know for sure (AT&T included) as to when they will ship out their 6.1 rom. I've heard July (which has passed), August, and September, as well as the cynical "Never".
Your best way of knowing is that it'll most likely be a few months after everyone else has done it and moved on.
edit: Just to add some more hearsay, check out the AT&T forum here. Some say AT&T is preparing their support staff for 6.1 questions. If true, then it's a positive note. But once again, this is all hearsay till there's an official note from AT&T. And even then it's not set in stone.
Ok XDA, step up!
LOL...come on you guys, there are confirmed reports that the "official" at&t roms have been spotted in the tilt. You mean you guys haven't been able to find one
to hack into yet? LOL....
Just kidding. After the "official" tilt rom comes out, I'll think if I want that or one of the cooked ones. I don't know if I want to bother with a cooked one. If my phone goes down, I'm screwed. I use pocket word, outlook, excel, acrobat dozens of times a day. I go through screen protectors (I use the old style palm transcriber) about once a month or more.
Seriously...keep up the work you cookers!
Dont Know
I spoke to ATT CS regarding same last week. She told me that , Its available with ATT but she is not sure when we will get it. Other thing she told me was to check the windows update in the phone, whenever they wil make it official for upgrade we can get upgrade via windows update.
I dont know if any other reason is there, but hope to get it ASAP, and looking forward to explorer 6.1
Cheers!

Whats really funny about this is that my local ATT Store now has signs next to the Tilt saying "Now Loaded with WM 6.1" or something like that, listing the threaded texting and other benefits. I asked the rep what the deal was and he said it would be available shortly, so I asked why the sign was out now and he said because they were told to put them out.

To date MS has done nothing with the update function.
WM6.1 will require a complete ROM replacement and there is no way they can do this via an update downloaded to the phone. Like the other ROM update from earlier this year, when this is officially available it will be posted for download on HTC's site and will need to performed from a connected PC.

Yes, i have talked to the people from HTC, and when it is ready which 'should be soon' then go to www.htc.com -> pick your country -> support -> choose your phone -> updates
Its out on the UK O2 site, just found it. Now if I install it I will have to re install all my apps and stuff again wont I ?
Any way I can make a complete back up of my phone and the apps as is , so I can go back to my 'working ' set up if I come up with problems ?
Thanks

neither of these links go anywhere
I was at a blog this morning and it was stated there that the ROM was at the HTC.com site stated above. As everyone knows, it is not there now. Although one of the comments on the page states the following that I found interesting: "HTC had the ROM upgrade available breifly. Then they removed the upgrade but left the page declaring that 6.1 was available. Now the page that was declaring WM6.1 is gone and refers to the WM6.0 rom from February. A few people had success in getting the 6.1 ROM image." Whether or not this is true can not be determined, but at least it gives me hope that it may be released soon (although we have seen this happen many times in the past).
My source for this info: http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonlan/arch...-6-1-upgrade-for-at-t-tilt-now-available.aspx
if anyone downloaded it, I can't figure out why it hasn't made its way over here somewhere. From the looks of the post count on the at&t forum site, there are 2,352,465.5 people waiting for it LOL.
Try it now -

you mean this one....if you click download it shows wm6.0 rom 1.62.502.2 not the one listed.

Unfortunately I was told the same thing ("about a month or two") about 6 months ago.
HTC support is very disorganized, and even to get that out of them I had to go through about 5 different people, who all spoke very broken English.
I will not be buying another HTC product; ever.

frankly .ur reply made me sick.
do u mean u a going to buy another brand who hires good english speaking workers?
after all htc is the brand from taiwan. they speak chinese.
Depending on which departments he was at broken english might not be a good thing. Their offices in Taiwan yes broken english is understandable. But their main customer support line should have a few people if not everyone who can speak english decently. Europe and the North American region have a fair ammount of people purchasing their devices who speak english in one of its flavors.
I think that the language issue hit more upon that user due to the lack of informative people he kept getting transferred to time after time.
(At least I hope that's all it is )
any updates for now?
I'm looking for original S730 ROM.
I have WM6.1 by Alcaline but
-I can't synchronize ActiveSync (corp policy WM only)
-Internet shring don't work
-often freeze
I want rollback to original ROM but can't find it.

ur = you are? or did you mean you're? your perhaps?
If I spend a large sum of money on a cell phone, with a warranty, I expect the company to honour it. Being given the run around by people reading off screens with no follow-up is bad customer service. Them not being able to speak passable English is also annoying. Nothing sick or inappropriate about that one champ. If another brand offers me better support, and cares after the customers after the purchase, I will (and did) go that route.
Also, in Taiwan they speak both Chinese and Taiwanese. I visited almost a year ago with some of my co-workers. Just an FYI, bud.

Funny. I was given the exact same reply yesterday.
Only thing that bothers me is that the upgrade for the TyTNII has been released some time ago (correct me if I'm wrong) and the upgrade for the Touch Cruise has also been released several weeks ago. They don't mention the upgrade for the Touch Dual which has also recently seen daylight. So I hope they know what they are talking about. Anyway it gives some hope though.
I doubt it'll be any better than Alcaline's excellent version.
The cooked are crap only the SMS chat owns
Official new ROM out
So, the update file is finally posted on the HTC web site.
I installed, and it seems to run fine, but too early to give a final opinion. Memory management 'feels' better.
BTW: Where in the version numbers does one see it's really 6.1? And is there a list out there of improvements over 6.0?
Hi Hfrank,
version number: start -> settings -> about -> in top of screen.
Is there an sms-chat in the update?
"About" only shows: Windows Mobile 6 Standard
CE OS 5.2.1622 (Build 18128.0.4.4) - so not easy for someone like me to see the exact version (if I didn't know better I'd think OS 5.2 means WM 5.2, not 6.0 or 6.1 .
"Is there an sms-chat in the update?"
Haven't found one yet.
The more I think about it, it seems this is a bugfix update, but not update to 6.1...?
Hi
There isn't coming any 6.1 update for this phone. On the swedish site www.mobil.se there was a couple of weeks ago a chat with Christer Högström from HTC.
I asked him when the 6.1 update was to be released and the answer in swedish was:
"Det var planerat att uppgrader S730 till Wm6.1 men med den minnes kapasitet som finns på produkten blev det lite svårt att ge kunden en bra upplevelse. Där emot kommer vi med en Standard uppdatering till S730 om ca 2 veckor som förbättrar radio stabiliteten."
Quick translation: It was planed to upgrade s730 to WM 6.1 but with the memory capacity on the product it became hard to give the user a decent user experience. But we will come with a standard update that will improve radio stability.
Heres is the chat: http://www.mobil.se/ArticlePages/200810/28/20081028094638_MOB813/20081028094638_MOB813.dbp.asp
Sorry guys!
According to HTC, Gingerbread upgrade for Incredible S will be on June for Singapore.
"Dear Alexander,

That's pretty slow, my opinion.
Better late than never? LOL
June....I hoping we got the update in April. I guess June is about right. These next 2 months the phone should be out there more in one variation or another in the Canada, the States and some more places overseas.
In my opinion to HTC's reply is earliest is June.

True ....
If it will be as with the Hero, then the update will be released at Christmas time, at best
This has alreayd been posted before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014937
and I'll say what I said there again. Customer services just give a generic date, until HTC make an official announcement, they don't know anymore than we do. I have already seen a couple of leaks of the GB rom floating about (nothing that can be publicly released or flashed due to NDA's) but I can't see any reason for it not being sooner
When it launches as the droid incredible 2 here in the states it will have gingerbread pre-loaded, so there would be no excuse to not have the INCs on GB before that, verizon ad's a ton of crapware to the device and not to mention cdma vs. gsm, we should get gingerbread before the Dinc2, at least I hope so.
Hi guys .
ok so i have delved into the world of wp7 and after being an iphone 4 owner may have expected too much from the phone so am not really impressed with its features so far.
i have just a couple of problems and questions i hope sombody on here can clear up for me.
first the phone was bought from ebay stating it was open to any network which it is i am currently using it on vodafone but when it boots up i get the 02 splash screen.
is there anyway to de brand the phone to remove the 02 splash screen?
also in connection settings if i set it to vodafone payg it does not store it says setting sucessful etc but reverts back to vodafone contract when going back into the settings.
also i have read about some nodo update
as a new user to htc what exactly is nodo and what are the benifits
i am desperate to fall in love with this phone and not be stuck in the world of apple ios
any help much appreciated
p.s a big thankyou to all the forum mods etc and members for this forum its has some great reading and infomation .
NoDo is an update from Microsoft, not exclusive to HTC. Download and install the Zune software on your PC or Mac, and connect your phone. It should tell you there is an update. However, check your phones OS version first. Settings-->About
If you've got 7.0.7390, you have NoDo. Anything less and you do not. You can see what's been added here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/howto/wp7/basics/update-history.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0
Unfortunately as a Yank I cannot answer your other questions
You're going to have to look in the HTC hd7 development forum and ask there about rebranding
HD7 unlocked
thanks for the replys guys after more and mnore reading i have finally done the unbrand on my phone and have now got rid of the 02 boot screen
I followed the thread started by ansar and its really simple to do so if anyone else is in the same situation as me follow that thread
Also the unbranding has sorted out my problems with selecting vodafone payg settings in connection setup so now its time to sit back and learn the phone inside out
thanks !
gratz to your HD7. nice to see switching people from iOS to WP7.
i hope you enjoy it.
