4G

Does anyone no the date when at&t acctually gets 4G I'm tired of waiting I have a 4G phone but don't get 4G what the heck

I doubt it 'cept the corporate AT&T people. They seem to be rolling them out 3-4 cities a year. So who knows. In OKC, it might be 3 months from now or 20 years from now.

The Thrill is not a LTE phone. The Thrill will never get LTE speeds. The 4G for the Thrill is HSPA+. The reason people call it faux G is that its not that much better than 3G. Check the coverage map online, you may already be getting 4G speed (according to att), and not know it. I saw an increase from my captivate to the Thrill, about 50% increase, but not enough to actually notice on a daily basis.
Att announced today their first LTE phones, skyrocket and vivid.

how much download and upload speed do you get? it is posible he might get better speed than us he will not get lte speed but better H+ speed

I'm from SLC,UT where I get 5mb down on a good day in a good location. I went to Phoenix for business and got 7mb down on one occasion.

When you got the phone, did you just put the old sim card in from your old phone? That is what the at&t store did when I bought mine and I was not getting very good speeds. Went to the store around the corner from me and they replaced my old sim with one that said '4g' on it and the Rep said something about not getting hspa+ on the older Sims. Not sure about his reasoning, but I do get anywhere between 4-8mb down now. I can never seem to get over 1.08 up speeds though. It acts like there's a cap on it the way it is so consistent.

Does your sim actually say 4g on it? I have a 4g chip at least they said I do, but it doesn't say 4g.

Just pulled it out and checked it. Plain AT&T sim. The one initially put in here was from my LG eXpo and came from my Incite from 2009. The Rep said that it needed a '4g' sim to actually get the speed. So he put a new one in. Can't complain as it worked.

No 4G after Gingervolt

I was able to install Gingervolt yesterday (Yay! thanks Beamer9408). Everything was working well last night but I noticed this morning that I was not getting 4G.
Here in Atlanta the LTE coverage is quite good. I'm getting 3 bars on average and it is only showing 1X and sometimes 3G but not 4G.
I checked Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks>System Select>Network Mode and see that LTE/CDMA is selected.
Just trying to see if it is a software/hardware issue on my end and not a Verizon network issue.
Anyone else in the area having 3G/4G issues?

Cincinnati has no 4g right now either.

I had an issue last night with 3g/4g outage in kansas city too.

Appears to be down here in St Louis as well

It was down in Los Angeles too last night but it's back up now

Definitely a Verizon issue. I lost 4G at around 8pm Dec 20 EST, finally got it back around 16 hours later...

Verizon has had nationwide 4g outages twice in the last week. I think either Droid-Life or AndroidPolice posted articles about it.

I wasn't hit with that first one, this time it was annoying but I was home during most of the issue so it wasn't a big deal for me. Had a few issues when I got to work but it seemed to be fixed after a bit.

that was one of the things that drew me to this phone over the charge and thunderbolt, it supported VoLTE out of the box

all verizon has said is that it's supposed to launch nationwide in 2013, was supposed to launch this year. they've been testing it with the Revolution since last February.

It is the first phone you can actually Talk and surf the web at the same time.
VoLTE (Voice over LTE). You have to have 4G and you have to wait till next year. I love Verizon...
Like Kane it was one of the features that drew me to this phone but since Verizon has yet to put 4G in my area, I forgot about this feature. I bought this 4G phone because Verizon said it would be available in my area in October 2011... Here we are almost February 2012... No 4G. Now I am just shooting for before the end of the world in December...

This is available already if you are in a 4g area. I talk and surf when I'm on the phone with people a lot

In 4G areas voice uses cdma, data lte. Works great.

All the 4g phones on Verizon are able to talk and text. I believe they are talking about making it so your phone calls and text messages will be carried over 4g compared to how Verizon transfers your calls and texts currently. It'll probably lead to your phone calls being much clearer in the future since it will be carried over a better network than it is currently.

Not everyone lives in a 4G area... I live just north of LA and there is no 4G here which is odd as I can toss a rock and hit LA.

I can talk on the phone and tether at the same time, also text and all. For those of you that think VoLTE will be coming to the Revo, remember this phone has reached it's END OF LIFE. Whoever posted those articles the 2nd one was from last February. There are no more updates coming to this phone, there is no ICS until we get cm9. Someone would have to come up with a hack most likely to enable VoLTE on the Revo.

My brother from another mother. Where you at here in the Lou? I am at Westport.

heres the weird thing, my mom has an old blackberry 9900 and shes always been able to talk and surf.... dang blackberries

ZV8 issues.

Went to a Verizon store and they said that the reboot issue is still an issue for people. I've had 7 reboots since I updated the day the update came out.
I guess the messaging not working right, is an issue also but I don't have that issue.
Anyone having issues or am I the unlucky one lol??

They failed to fix the touchscreen going unresponsive at random. Back on GingerVolt2.. OC'd and loving it!!!!!

Seriously.. I have had this on 2 different revos ever since going to Gingerbread.
Back on GingerVolt2.. OC'd and loving it!!!!!

I only get the unresponsive screen here and there and that's on GV 2.0 gets quite annoying especially playing games.

Random reboots
I am willing to see if I get the random screen freezes vs the random reboots I was getting on my GV install.

I had the same issues and called Verizon yesterday to let them trouble shoot the phone and it went south quick. They had me try a few things and eventually done a factory wipe only to get to the language screen and once I selected next to start activation BAM! Reboot so they asked me what phone I wanted! Offered me a Nexus I told them no don't like them, and it was going to be a used one to boot!! So ended up letting them give me a Brand New Razor Maxx it will be here Friday!! Love the Revo only had it 3 months, but time to move on I guess keep up the good work guys you will eventually get these to work but I cant wait that long!!!

Just had my first random reboot, should probably call Verizon before my warranty runs out.

That's why. Give it a few more times and they'll switch it more than likely. They tried to get me a different phone but they said after multiple replacements they will send a different phone.

when you call in to verizon did you have it rooted and such? im on zv8 and i am having screen lock almost everytime i open my notification bar done nothing else to it besides root it in zv7 and roll over to zv8 wondering if i should unroot before i call them and hassle them about it

I did unroot before calling but it didn't matter, I mentioned the random reboots and threw in the unresponsive screen (even though it only happened once) The rep immediately offered to send a replacement. He first asked if I had done the usual troubleshooting (powercycle, factory reset, etc...) and I said yes.
But you would definitely want to unroot it before mailing it back
I only unrooted first due to the new remote access they have ... didn't know how much info they could get with it.

Weak lte signal

Does anyone else notice a weak lte antenna? Been stuck on 3G where I had full 4G with the EVO LTE. Otherwise I love this phone. I can just stare at the screen, it's a thing of beauty.

I've actually noticed this as well. Do u use a case? I'm wondering if it maybe has something to do with that. Gonna test when I get home from work.

I dont know if it has anything to do with it but i shut off The Sleep Mode in settings/power and it seems like my 4G is alot better. It could be my imagination but it sure as hell seems better! Lol

Found what I believe is a solution. When I changed my network mode from cdma/lte to automatic, my signal changed from 1x to 4g. Strange but true, makes a huge difference

Im really starting to notice as i drive all over Florida(im a driver) that it its not holding 4G as well as my Note II...In sensorly it gives you a good idea where LTE is available,hell i logged a bunch of what is seen in Florida and im noticing in light purple areas where I had 4G before i have to now be pretty stationary for the One to lock in to 4G..But the real kick in the sack that has been driving me crazy these passed 2 days is seeing 4G on the phone and start doing something which transmits data it drops 4G and goes back to 3G..Happened at least 7 times today

Quite honestly, I had this issue pretty much with all my Sprint LTE phones, and I had pretty much all of them. Of course some held LTE more than others, but I was still getting frequent drops. Until Sprint moves into the 800 frequency, Holding LTE is going to be a consistent problem.

At 1st I was ready to return the phone because of it but decided it's really not worth it..Central Florida is only at 28% so things should improve once LTE is a little more dense and not so much distance between each tower that has been upgraded..And if i get my panties in a twist I can always go back to the Note II untill more towers are lit up.
Sprint LTE is the Swiss Cheese of 4G...

Yea same here my signal doesn't stay connected switches frequently as compared to my S3 which held 4g constantly Im in Lawrence KS we got good lte signal here
