Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium

first thing after u flash the rom from cwm immediatedly flash the gapps
after that when the phone reboots u will be asked to sign in your google account
sign in and u are done

gapps
You can find gapps there in forum, download it on SD card, then in Odin, u must have lastest version 4.38, , download clock-word-mode, and flash it, in CWM install zip file from SD card, install gapps, Cache wipe data, cahce partition, and reboot phone, u r done

so you need to flash and then add a new google phone to work fully, eg calendar, etc.

you need to flash your ROM and GAPPS at the same time
If i helped you be sure to click
that THANKS button

it is not necessary to flash both package at the same time just do this extract the gapps package select all the apk files and copy them to /system/app folder they will get installed
to copy them download es file explorer
go to setting in es file explorer app and select both root option
give it root access and mount system rewritable(2nd option)

You need to mount /system and /data in CWM recovery before they actually work. Find the complete tutorial http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com

That's fine, you're supposed to do that
1. wipe
2. install zip (rom)
3. Install zip (gapps)
4. reboot
Most of the gapps will be there. Play store will be there so whatever is not installed, download from there.

[Q] galaxy note cant install from sd card

hi there, i am using cwmr touch 6.0.1.4-Philz on my galaxy note. every time i try to install a zip file, i don't get an error. it says install from sd card complete. but when i reboot my device, there are no changes. i tried different zip files, and not one did anything.
Has anyone had this problem before? I have official 4.1.1 on speedmod kernel. Thanks in advance!
Just a suggestion before installing any zip manually mount the system
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
excuse me for my noob question, but what does "mount the system" mean?
thanks for your reply!
When you are in cwm recovery there is a option named mount & storage. Inside it there is a option to mount the system select it and then try installing any zip

Latest version is 4.63. You can check your version by booting into recovery and philz settings, about.
Launcher? After installing the launcher, when you press the home key, does it not give option to choose launcher?
I have 6.0.1.4 cwmr philz touch. And normally it should pop up xperia home, but i only get my touchwiz launcher and the apex launcher. I also tried to install an other zip file, something that would change my statusbar, and it didn't..
Latest us 6.0.2.8.. Try to change kernel. Also try fix permission in recovery.

I guess the xperia z launcher zip is broken. Maunally paste the app into system/app or maybe you don't have enough space left on the system that's why your zips are not installing. Delete some samsung bloatware apps using tb

Cannot install google apps

I downloaded google apps for CM 10.1 from wiki.cyanogenmod.org , I have installed android 4.2.2 and when I put gapps.zip on phone storage CWM does not see this file, other zip's like cyanogenmod.zip is visible on files to install, i tried a lot of versions and I dont know what to do.
Maybe I should install CM rom with google apps, but on cyanogen mod official page I dont see rom like that?

You can't get a CM ROM with gApps built-in. Also, this should be in the Q&A forum, not in here.
I solved it partially, I have something wrong in directories structure.
If i put device into MTP mode and copy zip's on strorage everything goes to /sdcard/0 and if I open it in CWM I can see files that I uploaded.
It would be ok, but for example when I'm installing go backup the application files are going to /sdcard/GOBackup and if I want to restore data I must move /sdcard/0/GOBackup to /sdcard/GOBackup .
How I can repartition my device, or which app I should use to get state before it was broken (it was after installing miui).
EDIT. I readed that is feature of android 4.2 connected with multi user structure, I am first user of this device so i have directory 0, but I didn't found answer what I should do to connect mtp to /sdcard not sdcard/0

System App Update

Hi
i'm using an AOKP ROM and i have a problem, but i had this problem also with many other (cyanogenmod, miui ...) ROMs...
I installed an update for an system app (playstore)... no problems... if i reboot the app is still updated, but if i shutdown the phone an turn on, the app is "downgraded" to old version!
I used Link2SD: integrate update in rom... this works and android update the system after reboot, but the problem persists
a wipe after convert app to system does not help -.-
now i have the followig questions:
1: how to fix this (without wipe the system)
2: how to modify an ROM.zip to integrate some updates?
thanks in advance

Try this..
1. download latest playstore (v 4.3.11) on your pc
2. transfer it into your phone
3. rename the file to Vending.apk
4. go to system/app and delete the old playstore file
5. now place the dowloaded file in system/app and set permissions rw-r--r--
6. reboot.
now it wont be downgraded..:good:

[Q] Cyanogenmod 10.2 Problem.

Hey guys,
I'm very sorry if i posted this in the wrong area and please tell me if i need to post this in another area..
Here's the problem:
I just updated my ace to cyanogenmod 10.2 (Android 4.3), and the google play store is gone. normally that would be fine and i would just download an apk for that on the internet. The problem is that my sd card isn't recognized anymore. Any way to make it recognized again?
Thanks in advance,
P.S.
I backed up everything but my backup program is gone too, anyway to fix that
Don't worry I also panicked when i installed CM 10.2 but there is no real problem.
Download gapps from Cyanogenmod 10.2 thread.
Put it in your internal sd.
Reboot the phone in recovery,
CWM recovery will show up.
Select install update.
Navigate where you have put the gapps.zip.
Install it.
Select reboot.
Google play will be there.
Now for browsing your SD
Open cyanogenmod built in file explorer.
Go to settings - General Settings - Access Mode and give root access(always).
Your SD wil be accessible now.

When i select install update it says there's no such file, and i've installed the gapps zip via install zip from sd card again, but google play is not there..
So could you give me the rom you installed and your version of gapps? ill try it with those.
