I just upgraded from Froyo 1.0 to GingerCruzt 8.2 today since I been wanting to have the 4 corner home screen.
My question is how do I turn the 4 corner home screen on or something? I have been searching here for a while now.
GC8.2 dont have 4 corner launcher because it have arc launcher.....here you go 4 corner launcher..install it like ordinary app
Thanks! But for some reason when I reboot it suddenly return to the old style.
The LED Notification is buggy, it seems it only flashes when the screen if turn off but I like the ROM so I guess i'll just wait for another update.
Just press middle home button a choose your launcher and set it as default. Led works only when scren is off on all roms even on stock

A quick and maybe dumb question: Is there a way to arrange icons in the homescreen just by sliding one on top of the other, like the iPhone?
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Thats exactly what you do.
Press and hold the icon the drag it round to where you want it then let go.
Drag it down to the bin icon to remove it.
To place an icon on the home screen, go to the apps screen and press and hold the icon you want on the home screen. Only let go when you see the home screen appear.

Sorry if I haven't made myself clear, what I mean is if it's possible to drag an icon on top of another so they switch places.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
as far as I know it is only possible in the TouchWiz App Launcher (when you are in the edit mode),
but you can't change places on the homescreen like on the iPhone. (not with standart launcher)
This was something I was surprised by as well... it's like having one of those puzzle sliders at times to get everything where I want it!

Indeed
Even more annoying to me is the fact, that folders don't close when the home button is pressed / an app is launched. I think that's quite irritating...Oo

What do you mean by the "menu bar"?
I guess he's talking about the bar at the bottom.
Yes, it's possible!
Press the Applications icon at the bottom, then press the menu button, press on edit, and you are now able to drag new icons to the bottom bar.
Thank you!
I gotta say... I REALLY, REALLY LOVE THIS PHONE!
After discovering this, I'm not gonna change my launcher yet, I got a paid version of LauncherPro, but i like the horizontal scrolling in the appdrawer.

You can set the appdrawer horizontal or vertical with launcherpro so you can still use it

Seriously, you can hide the dock bar, then get one of those widgets that do all you want, be creative...
spark from hiplogic inc is rather different
I have to express my amazement with how good the skin\launcher is compared to touchwiz it really feels more professional and elegant rather than a theme for a childs toy.
Anyone else feels the same?

Me too, the only thing I miss from TouchWiz is the alphabetic list in the apps drawer as it is much easier to navigate than pages of apps in all other launchers!

If you hit the button on the top right of the app drawer, there's options for organisation. Got mine on alphabetical, there's a few others too.

that's not what hes talking about.. know the s3 launcher? you can organize your apps to be a alphabetical LIST to scroll up and down, not pages to scroll right and left.
For me the Timescape skin is mostly why I went for a Sony phone over a Samsung because of the dark, elegant interface. It is a perfect business phone. Also I might be the only one here to arrange my apps in order of most used.

Hey everybody. If you hate BlinkFeed like I do, here's how you can get it out of your way, this info came straight from HTC.
To turn BlinkFeed off on your HTC One M8, check this out: http://s.htc.com/1lrBnbX. To turn it off on your One M8, slide two fingers together while on the feed and tap BlinkFeed On to toggle it off.

You can also go in to settings/personlize/manage home screen pages and remove it completely or touch and hold to add widgets and turn it off there in the top left corner you will see a little blue square that lets you toggle it on or off. I think this is a NEW feature in KitKat . Because I am running the stock rom ust bootloader unlocked and rooted is all I have done so far.
I use the Google Now Launcher, so no issues for me.

How did you get the Google now launcher to work?
Sent from my 831C using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I followed the instructions on the first link when googling "Google Now Launcher digital trends" Sorry, about not linking. I'm a new user here so I can't post link.
the PrebuiltGmsCore.apk and Velvet.apk seemed to fail install, but the GoogleHome.apk did install and everything seems to work. All in all, I've been enjoying it. I liked the Themer launcher too, but the Google Now Launchers always listening "OK Google" feature has been too nice to give up. I'm not positive but I think the Google Now Launcher is burning through a little more battery life.

You'll have to do a Google search for it, it will be an .apk file.

Thanks! I keep getting parsing errors so I downloaded the apk to my computer and transferred it over. Works great!

not seeing a blue box, just the edit box which merely removes the page

I highly recommend Google Now Launcher for which you need to download the apk and side load it, as well as Xposed GELS to completely customize your screen.
