Downloads shortcut - Motorola Droid 3

Anyone know how to change the default draw shortcuts location for downloads? Or what it is? Opera mobiles is downloads I believe and nothing shows in the downloads area. Something that's been bugging me a while, lol.

Browser woes in froyo

In eclair double tapping to zoom seemed to work in the browser. It would even reformat the text so that it all fit in the window. I can't seem to replicate that behavior in froyo. It zooms in a little but doesn't change the text.
Also, YouTube videos don't seem to open in the YouTube app anymore. They open in the browser video player(I'm guessing) which has fewer features (no soft menu w/ sharing options)
I know its leaked software but is that just how 2.2 operates? Anyone else able to replicate these minor annoyances I'm having?

Yes I am also running froyo and it seems the zoom is off.

So I was poking around through the settings and there's a check box that must have been checked by default in 2.1. Its called "auto-fit pages" check that and the zoom of old works

HTC navigation software

Hi I recently had to factory reset my desire hd. Today I opened the car panel and the navigation button is greyed out, and I cannot find the application in the app draw. Does anyone know a way to get hold of the .apk or can anyone post it up. I still have the map files on my SD card.
Thanks.

Try adding the Footprints widget to see if it gives you the option to redownload locations, I had a similar problem and that did it for me,

I don't have a footprint widget in my list of widgets...

Well I put the locations widget on the home screen and got into the navigation, and activated my free trial (something I didn't do before, or have to do) and the icon is no longer blanked out. However I'm sure there was a direct link to the map application without having to go through the car panel.
Thanks for the help, looks like footprints has been combined with locations etc.

Sweet so the app is there, are you still missing the locations app in your app list?
try going to: settings -> location -> reinstall (under location service)
this reinstalls the htc locations app
I reinstalled it for a second time and it is now functioning and the icon has been restored, thanks for all the help guys.

[Q] How do I disable Google search?

When I open the browser, a Google search page is displayed instead of the specified home page (about:blank). How can I keep the browser from going to Google search?
I'm using the standard browser with Serendipity 6.3.
I get the same results when I use Firefox Mobile 4.0 browser.
From Google home page, go to menu/more/settings/set homepage. Put your desired hompage url in there.

That's exactly what I did without success. As I posted, the homepage is set to about:blank.
Hmmm...maybe try reset to default and try again?

No change. I even rebooted. The home screen setting shows about:blank but the browser still goes to Google.
I'm on Serendipity 6.3 too. Just changed my homepage url successfully...but had to close the browser in task manager for the new url to "take." You may have some other issue.

I tried that as well. No joy. Oh well, I'll keep digging. Thanks for your suggestions.

Links don't open

I was wondering if anyone has an issue where links don't open. As in clicking on directions in yelp doesn't open google maps or Waze.
Nor do click on apps from the Notifaction bar either.
I probably did something and don't remember.

I haven't had any issues clicking on links from Chrome Canary or,from apps such as XDA Labs/AndroidPolice/Droid Life & even the Wells Fargo app (from Amazon AppStore).
Might need to check permissions,I haven't got the usual prompts on everything, been hit or miss.

I had to set the app as a default for it to open instead of being able to choose which app I want to open
