Hi, just got a hd7, it has the 5.10 spl. Though the phone is nearly a year old. Its from o2 UK.
Is there anyway of upgrading to a custom rom? Or even unlock it so I can deploy xaps? Would the chevron unlock work?
Thanks for any help in advance

NO_DO Backup via zune needed
u have to restore you phone to no do update.
Update Via zune again, Several updates will come and u have to stop after the Mango update is finished via zune.
SPL will downgrade to 4.X with Mango update.
Hope it makes sense

I can give you one, but need all the Details of ur phone (Settings:--> About). and where it was baught.
You might have to buy some hardware, but a gold card would probably allow a downgrade.

Hi
I'm using tmobile hd7 and successfully flashed a Telstra nodo rom, however I am missing my custom ringtones notificatons and homebrew apps, has anyone been able to unlock after nodo?
MS made it clear that NoDo will patch the security flaw that was exploited by the chevron team. So for now there is no hack after NoDo. But its all a matter of time before a hack comes from someone. Hopefuuly its sooner than later as i do miss the custom ringtones and registry hacks.
Microsoft should just allow free XAP files to be put on phones...
just put security checks in to safeguard files that are paid for on the market place should be nothing too hard for Microsoft to do...
But Im loving NoDo and my hacks that I done before are still there just cant edit them after now...
Like the **it Yahoo search page on IE and some custom colours
There is a way to have NoDo and still have your phone unlocked. But you have to unlock it at pre-Nodo (7004 or 7008) and then wait for your official update throught Zune. Here is the thread:

how can i sure that my HD7 is unlock???
I have two HD7 both were unlocked with Chevron, I flashed one with the Telstra rom and the unlock with all my apps were gone. But the other one with official nodo from t-mobile kept the apps and the unlock. So I can confirm that you need to unlock before nodo to keep the unlock.

The phone were unlocked before pre-nodo, don't know if that makes a different.

+1, unlocked and nodo, working perfectly.
You must reflash your phone with a old Shopping Rom without nodo, now patch with nodo and use nodo patch from Forum. Now you can make update with zune and you will not lose your patched phone pn ME tomorrow and will give you needed Files when you not found that

ive searched the net for the tmous rom by ansar but unfortunately the links are dead.. can anybody pm me and email me a copy of the tmous rom.. please.. m stuck at 7392.. T_T
i upgraded from a G1 to a HD7 and wondering what are the pros and cons of jailbreaking or what ever it is call for this phone (im used to rooting) and if there a link on how to do it would be great
Personally, I couldn't wait to root and rom the hell out of my HD2, it was such a crappy out-of-box experience. That's how I found XDA.
IMO, the HD7 and WP OS are pretty flawless, and I have no wants or desires to jailbreak it. I'm not looking to hop carriers or sideload apps, so I personally see no need for it.
That said, the list of why you might want to is just about the same for rooting/jailbreaking any phone.
To load custom phone, text, and alarm ringers, make custom settings as to how u want your phone to behave, tethering.... the usual
thank you ^_^ but can some one give me a link on how to do it since i want to read more into it but cant find out how

If you have phone that was shipped with NoDo (7.0.7390 afaik) you are out of luck, since we can't unlock them yet. (there may be some possibilities involving flashing but I#m not sure)
If you have one of the old ones you can use the "Chevron" tool (after an eventual downgrade) and then update, it will stay unlocked.
The "legal" way would be to buy an $99/year developer account and officially unlock your phone. (Or if you are a student you will get one for free)
However I would wait and stay tuned, since MS seems to introduce an official free way of side loading apps fore those who do not need a complete dev account.

what is about RSPL / HSPL?
I think that the links you posted are for the ones who have NoDo or below but I already have the mango final
easiest way to 'jailbreak' your WP7 device is with a Custom ROM.
check out the tutorial in my signature.
i already tried it but when I get to the step where I have to use task 00 I get an error..
but an another question is whether it is possible to flash original nodo over original Mango and if yes how do I do that?
I had Official Mango too. Used the same signature links last week and everything works. Win7 x64, HTC HD7

Well thank you for your reply!
I am absolutely confused!
I just want to upgrade to your's intrinsic 4.0.1 T-Mobile US edition.
So... following the instructions under your signature, first i am trying to downgrade to a different radio with HD7_RUUWrapper_00 (Ex. 1.20.531.01 or 1.54.531.02 or 3.01.531.02) but the bar on my phone stucks at 0.00% and then i have the error 262. tried different pcs and different radios.
Is it necessary to change the radio before doing that upgrade?
And is it possible to make that update via zune? (i mean to copy your's intrinsic 4.0.1 T-Mobile US edition files at some specific zune's folder and complete then the procedure some-how?
Thank you once again!

if you have Bootloader 1.54, you don't need to downgrade OSPL first with SPL_Signed.nbh
though, you'll need to XSPL before you can flash a Custom ROM or Unsigned Radios.
i do not believe it is possible to do that via Zune.
You bring up the configuration of your phone
Now I wanted to know...
A. How to firstly unlock the phone KEEPING the same ROM. (I don't want to flash any ROM)
B. What are the possibilities once I unlock it? What are the things I can do with this phone...
Primary reason to unlock is games...I want to play lots of games...
(In fact, am almost on the verge of selling it for it being so locked down.)
Any help...

you have the Asia WWE HD7.
ansar's SLSPL won't be able to be used, unfortunately.
only way for you to downgrade SPL, aka Bootloader, is to Zune pre-Mango (i.e. NoDo) restore, here or this here.
i don't know how to explain further, sorry.

as far as i know, (have been out of the game for a bit) with OSPL (aka Original Bootloader) 5.xx can't be downgraded while retaining the current OS. but it can be returned to a stock Shipped ROM, instead of a Custom ROM.

This is a bricked bootloader, the only way to fix this is a RIFF box, you must pay for that...
you have no bootloader at all, the phone can boot but you can't install any rom, maybe you can try the official zune update, one update at the time and see if that fix the bootloader... I've read in other post that zune updates can fix that instead of the RIFF box...
once the bootloader is fixed you can downgrade the rom/bootloader with the goldcard method.
