I am very happy with my OB performance with Cyanogenmod, since MIUI has official support for only about seven devices, I have no illusions of having it...

I voted since selfkang released, and one of their dev post in miuiandroid forum telling the plan of 4 new devices port including p970; and also said your device can have the port only if it has cyanogen and hdpi, p970 is one of them, but till now no sign of our port.

Not sure if Virtuous team will do the same for IncS since HTC has to release kernel source sooner or later.

haha i know dude i was being sarcastic
if I remember right, l0st.prophet already developed a kernel some time ago. so i guess he has the knowledge.
but i am pretty sure that htc releases the kernel sources when the desire s OTA update is finished. then all updates are done (the bad DHD news were not bad news in this case so far)
The DHD news is bad I think, because we are only marginally better specced/newer than them, so does that mean we only just scarped in the requirements for ICS and therefore may possibly be overlooked for JB? Not saying we WILL be, just that our phone will be the same age as the DHD is now when they start rolling out the JB OTA to phones like Sensation and One phones

Personally I don't think HTC will give us JB. So we're probably on our own this time. But if the rumor that "JB is not so much different from ICS" is true, then we're likely to get a port, at least AOSP/AOKP.

Thats what I honestly thought with ICS, so we shouldn't start making assumptions I think
Yeah, the Ice Cold rom was made stable and nearly perfect before the ICS OTA was released
BUT, this time, Lord Clockan, the dev of Ice Cold, might not be with us, because unfortunately for us he sold his DHD when he bought his HOX

Does anyone know if Nik has asked the CM devs from Desire S Nexxx and NK111, some of the other devs? IIRC it was superkid or nk111 who fixed the audio flinger
There isn't a lot of point to this for devices that officially have Android 4.0 (saga, vivo e.t.c) as HTC will have to release kernel sources to comply with GPL. The vision and ace will not be getting an official 3.0 kernel, therefore no source, therefore the need for a port.
As far as Nik's JB port he is having an issue which others seem to have encountered but we are unable to get any information on how it was fixed, appears to be a scheduler issue.
This post belongs in general.

Well most of the developer tried the same for us, but it's stuck at boot animation, I mean causing boot loop.
Problem must be with ramdisk and audio flinger.
Desire s has about 3 cm developers, working with their phone
We don't have any cm developers, apart from a few trying

There are several of us trying, but you know what is really helpful? Once a week, someone opening a new thread telling us we don't have it working yet.

From what I can tell (not being a dev myself) there are some problems unsolved so far:
- cam's not working (HTC didn't release sources so far)
- some hardware not working (HTC didn't release sources so far)
- there are too few cyanogen devs for our phone
Oh - did I mention HTC didn't release sources so far???

When?
HTC will probably push the time frame until ICS release worldwide is complete. That probably won't be until the end of August. ICS on BM hasn't been released as of yet.
Sick. Next phone = only Nexus.

Other phone makers have improved their release times but HTC doesn't seem to think the rules apply to them.

Who is in? I'm willing to donate up 20-30 dollars.
Is it really worth taking the chance? X amount of people might donate up to $300 and they still might not give us CM10, after all they are not obliged to as its a donation. Where as new devices are getting CM10, so a port would be a more viable option?
Just my opinion.

We dont have a working custom JB kernel yet, but when we do the majority of bigs in JB roms will be fixed. People are working on these kernels as well, so its only a matter of time.

Accidentally posted this under development. Wanted to post it under general. I was more like we will donate IF you promise to provide. But I should make that donation in any case since I've been using CM7 for a year now.
I believe instead of paying them, if we pay our local or forum developers we could get some more and amazing ROM as compare to CM10.

No. I like a smooth ROM with good battery life. I have tried several others, but sooner or later I have turned back to CM.
I would love CM10 on more HTC devices... we didn't even get a CM9, not did the Desire HD... both capable devices. Hopefully using HTC's source code the team can make something happen. They're doing a fantastic service.

No Vivo isn't in the "Stable" list, last official CM version for Vivo is 7. something...
So yeah the reason i posted is for someone to try and use maybe HTC One's rom and see if it could be reworked for Inc S.
We already have CM10 build with us. But we have one huge roadblock, we don't have asop kernel to run this ROM.
I think this post should have been in general section and not in development section.

I'd say most likely that is the case. You will have to be happy with what we have at moment with possibility of some improvements of currents roms and maybe 1-2 more new roms but I doubt any stable cm9 or 10 will be available.

Yup, looks like the last dying moments of our phone..... finally age has caught up with our phone ... (RIP)
Today one of my colleague brought his newly bought Samsung note 2..... my phone looks like so puny and outdated in front of his phone
After that I realized, whatever update we may get, it will not be very smooth as new phones in market are.....
Anyways whatever may happen,I still love my phone and would keep it with me whether we would get CM 9/10 , JB etc or not....

Well seem people are loosing interest in miui as the willingness to flash a miui rom and make it a daily driver never succeed and moreover they concentrate on fixing bugs for mi3 and 4 so all end up sticking to the aosp or cm rom out here where dev are doing excellent job.
Maybe it will be great when someday they release the source as promised and people out here could do the magic

Looking at the poll I agree. I can see why G2 users are dying to have MIUI; they barely have any good custom roms comparing it to Nexus 5.
