Micro usb slots are the same. Car charger and power supply 230v will be compatible between Nokia and HTC?

I reply
Can use, but have hidden trouble

Hi,
I just bought a used HD2 without a charger. Seller told me the charger was not working and gave me only the USB cable. I am wondering if I can use my HD charger to charge the HD2. Of course, by swapping the cable.....
Anyone with a HD2 please post the part number/model number of their original HTC HD2 Charger so that I can check whether it is the same thing? Thanks all.....
Oh....Just downloaded a copy of the usual manual for HD2. It stated the original adaptor for HD2 is TC-P300 which is exactly the same as my HD's adaptor. So they are interchangable by swapping the USB cables!
its also the same as my brothers diamond charger
normally, you can use every usb charger.
if it doesnt work with your leo, it won't charge, but nothing should happen to your device.

Yup, it is exactly the same charger. (5 Volt 1Amp )
Same situation, changed from an HD to a HD2.
That's good! That mean any of those car cigarette lighter plug with USB output can be used with the appropriate USB cable to charge our HTC phone in the car? Don't need to buy the original car charger from HTC?
you can also charge your ipod with your hd2 chargers adapter.just connect the ipods' usb cable to the charger and plug in

i would say about 99,9% does it. maybe there are 1 or 2 out there, which dont work. but normally, all of them should work.

Yup, but check Tbattery. I have this tool in NRG rom and it shows you how much current goes, or comes, from your battery.
From what I believe is that there are 2 states and 2 modes.
The mode is actually the source to where your HD2 is connected to. This is either a standard USB port on your laptop or the other one a charger.
If it is connected to the standard USB port it will draw a max of 500mA which is the max a USB should be able to deliver.
The charger can provide 1 Amp which is 1000mA, which means half the charge time till full.
You have to know that there are actually 4 conductors on the 'big' USB connector. Ground, 5 Volt and D+ and D- (the actual data).
The HD2 knows that it is connected to the charger when D+ and D- are connected to eachother. (no harm done btw)
Now some carchargers can deliver 1 Amp but they don't have the D's shorted and the HD2 only pulls 500mA from it since it doesn't see it as a 'HTC' charger.
The state is determined on the batt's %
If it is below 90% I believe it charges at full Amps (depending on the mode) above it goes in slow charge.
Looks like nowaday, we just need an adaptor with a USB output and various USB cables to charge different phones. Not too long ago, we need to carry one charger for each phone. haha....
Thanks for all those who replied!
I use a Nokia N97 car charger and it works very well. I'm guessing a normal N97 power adapter could work as well to charge your HD2.
info & caution.
Any USB port should be able to charge your HD2 & micro USB is the new standard charging specification, so it should become really common over time.
However, be careful what else you plug in! I bought a 3.2mm to micro USB adapter. It was fine on a standard Nokia charger (which delivered about 4.5 volts), but another one which put out about 7 volts, blew my poor HD2 up :-(
I got it repaired though. They replaced the main board = new IMEI etc, which would have been expensive out of warranty! Lucky me, but being without my HD2 was kinda hell!
I have checked the voltage out of that car charger. A friend of mine tested it before too on his HD2. N97 has a bigger voltage battery (1500 mA). He had problems finding a decent car charger for his HD2. He eventually bought 2 non-original chargers for an N97 and HD2. He took the connector from the non-original HD2 car charger, he cut off the connector for the N97 and he put the HD2 connector (he is an electrician, do not try this if you don't know what you are doing). He advised me to buy an original N97 charger that should work. I did buy one original car charger and I am satisfied with it. My HD2 is still in one piece without any service calls. I am saying that a N97 car charger should work just fine on an HD2.

This might have happened to me? It would not charge with my 500 ma USB supplies (computer nor the AC USB power adapter. Nor would it charge with my AC USB power adapter of 1 amp.
So I used my HTC HD2 car charger, plugged into my AC-12 volt car charger outlet, and it charged ok.
Two weeks later, nothing. So waiting for an external HTC HD2 battery charger from an eBay supplier. Tried different HTC HD2 batteries & HTC HD2 USB cables. No luck yet.
Hello,
I´m looking for an additional adapter (to the HTC stock one).
I would like to ask if you had any experiences on using one of the latest Apple USB power adapters? They seem very thin (the EU versions for example).
The original HTC power adapter is OK, but I am looking for something more compact, like the Apple USB power adapter.
I have read the post about "Using HD charger to charge HD2?", but like to hear experiences especially about the Apple power adapter compatibility (specifications) with HTC HD2.
Thank you in advance!
my partners iphone 3gs charger, the one that looks like just a uk plug works just fine on my hd2
way overpriced to buy on their own though
any usb charger device should work with the hd2, least at the standard charge rate

I have tried this and it does charge but the charging rate is quite slow. The HTC charger charges my HD2 much faster...
DAVE©
Blackberry curve and Bold both work well as does my old Nokia 6500c and the newer Samsung's also work well

HD2 doesn't recognize iPhone charger as a AC charger (wall charger).
Just need to modify the cable I made special cable and has no problems with the Iphone or other chargers. Just need to shorten data pins/wires on the cable.
Thank you all
Thank you all for the feedback!
As I understand, the original HTC data cable in combination with an Apple power adapter may charge at native speeds ...
Best regards
Anyone has the Nexus 7 in EU? How do you charge it?
Mine was brought from AU and it came with AU plug so I cannot use the charger, so I recharge my Nexus 7 through PC USB but it takes VERY long to recharge (like 20 hours). I also tried recharging it using my Sensation XE adapter, it charges it a bit faster but it still takes like 10 hours, not that fast.
Any idea?
I've no idea what the shopping situation is like in Macedonia but if you can, try to find a charger for something like the Samsung Galaxy Tab or another non iPad tablet device, it should work for you.
Go to your local computer store and just buy a plug adapter, the tablet charger is capable of supporting 110-250V I believe.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
I was going to look for a plug adapter but I think that will make the charger much bulkier then it is currently :/
EDIT: I found one old plug adapter which did the trick and guess what... WOW! Almost every one minute the battery charges by one percent!
Now I only wish I could find original EU plug for this original adapter...

Or you can go to any hardware store and buy the same

the HP international power charger for the HP touchpad is more or less the same. just bought one for my nexus 7, charges at 2.0A, and comes with adapters for most countries.

Yes m8, that's it.
Universal power adaptor
Why dont you use the 'universal power adaptors'? They are pretty cheap.
If you check the Assus specs, the charger supports all voltages from 110v to 240v AC.
Australia as well as EU both have 240v power supply.
Note: I got mine from US (110v) to India (240v) and use a universal power adaptor in front. It works!!

Much to my amazement I discovered that the charger for my new Sony RX100 pocket camera also charges the Nexus 7!
I don't know about you, but the assortment of connections, adapters, power cables and chargers can be intimidating to keep straight.
Maybe there are others that would work too, but the accident of plugging in the wrong charger amazed me.
Nexus 7 just uses a standard microUSB cable so any cable from a modern device made by a company that isn't obsessed with proprietary chargers should work.
You're right on, I agree
Pawnty -
It's not that simple. While MicroUSB is indeed standard, not all cables will work on all devices. A friend of mine has a Nexus 7, and it is very picky about what cables and power sources it will charge from. I just got a Sony HX20V and am running into the same problem. It will not charge if I use the iGo AC charger that I have been using for my phones for the last 2 years, my retractable USB-MicroUSB cable, or my AT&T-branded car charger. So far, it has only charged with the cables that came with my Captivate and Galaxy Nexus, plugged into a computer or their corresponding AC adaptor.
Hi all,
I thought I'd share what I've found working as a USB charger for the Nook HD+.
1) USB 3.0 ports on a computer (slower charge at 900mA)
2) Powered USB 3.0 hub (slower charge at 900mA)
3) Philips SPS8038B Relocatable Power Tap (http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Office-Desktop-Charging-Station/dp/B00865TV2Y)
4) SPRINT CTC-2USB-5V2A car/home charger (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA20211P5919)
Please add if you have any other USB chargers that work!
Lenovo Miix 2 8 charger. Lenovo P/N 36200540, Model AD897F23 provides 5.2V/2.0A
Any USB charger with short-circuited D+/D- pins should work (standard now, except for Apple and maybe a few others). That's how the Nook HD+ recognizes a dedicated charger vs. a USB data connection. Only if the data pins are shorted will it go into fast charge mode (up to 2000 mA), otherwise it'll limit its current intake to 500 mA.

I got 2 usb chargers from Amazon with multiple ports & does work on the Nook HD+ for me.
1) iXCC ® Dual USB 4.2 Amp (20 Watt) SMART High Capacity [High Power] AC Travel Wall Charger - ChargeWise (tm) Technology [High Speed] FAST Charging for Apple iPhone 5s 5c 5; ipad air; iPad Air mini (Retina Display); iPad 4; ipad2; Samsung Galaxy S5 S4 S3; Note 2 and Note 3; the new HTC One (M8); Google Nexus and More [Black]. I got the Blue model.
2) Anker® 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger with PowerIQ™ Technology for iPhone 5s 5c 5; iPad Air mini; Galaxy S5 S4; Note 3 2; the new HTC One (M8); Nexus and More (White) May be overkill for some.
Found that the SIIg usb 2 amp charger won't work or get recognized by the Nook HD+; it's marketed as for the crapple's ipod/ipad. A signal of incompatibility is if it says for Apple products.
I had a Nook Color charger left after I moved up to an HD+ (a friend gave it to me with no charger), works great!
Charger for Samsung galaxy tab 3 t217a does work perfectly
And any lg charger (5.1V) works as well
The EasyAcc 5 port chargers work as well. The different ports each have different labels and specs. The 2x iPad and 1x iPhone ports won't charge the Nook HD. The Samsung Tab port charges the Nook HD at full speed (I have the 7 inch Nook HD). edit: I think the Android labelled port might charge full speed as well.

How to (maybe) get it cheaper: EasyAcc has a UK/Europe ebay store. On ebay UK I put in a bid at about 80% of the normal retail price. I didn't win but when the auction ended EasyAcc contacted me (I think they contacted the five highest bidders who didn't win) and offered me the product at the price I bid.
