HI,
after 2 months of trying..i still cant force the mango update and are yet to recieve any notification through zune..
ive tried absolutely everything but to no avail..
please help
htc hd7 branded to o2uk but unlocked to orangeuk
Why are you trying to force it?
Had you installed a different Rom ?
I have an O2 Uk unlocked and using giffgaff and mine updated to Mango long ago although I had installed NODO by the quick method before.
i a using an unloched SEA set from singapore, forced NODO and loaded the SEA RTM rom found on XDA... and i got 2 updates from HTC after that, inernet sharing is one of them...
you dont have to force, just load the offical rom for your part of the world will do...
Try to disconnect from Wi-Fi after you clicked onto "search for update" in Zune. I did that w/ my Mac and Windows Phone Connector, works like a charm!

have u seen anyone updated there ROM here yet, NO...
there are no ROM updates or upgrades yet... there are group of ppl trying to load WP7 on HD2...
i dont think u can change to european languages yet... not until HTC comes out with a ROM upgrade...
Nut there are room released indeed (check windows phone 7 development forum) and problem is my pc simple cannot see phone when updating...
Both my pcs, and also connecting after booting phone with on + photo button on...
thx anyway, regards
Ok, I did it, or at least I updated rom: powering on the phone pushing volume - takes to boot mode, and then I was able to flash with new ASIA rom, but not with new Euro rom: in this case i get an error 294 invalid vendor...
I suppose it needs the phone to be unlocked and this has not be done (yet ) but my question is... Why un unlocked asian phone is locked against euro roms? HTC should let customers free to change the language of the phone....

It doesnt have anything to do with being unlocked or not.
Its because of the SPL. you will need Hard SPL to be able to flash ROMs from another region, otherwise, you can't.
There is no HSPL for HD7 yet, and the bad news is, no one seems to be working on it
Ok, we'll wait with patience
thx
First post after such a long time on this site but I thought it would be worth posting this. The NoDo update for the HTC HD7 from O2 is now available. Plugged into Zune this evening and there it was... I'm still in the process of updating as I type this but its finally here!!!
I can confirm this... yippee
Thank god, its like I have been waiting ages and like we are the last to get it
I used Chevron to update it yesterday - but it still has given me an update notification just now when I plugged into Zune - so must be some HD7 specific updates in it too! Battery is too dead to do it now though so it's on charge!
Confirmed; updating now. Good to know you can still get the HTC Specific updates even if you used Chevron. That's what put me off using it, but I'll use it in future!

Same here. After update it still says the same build as before (7390). Not sure, if the firmware, radio or bootloader is the same, i did not noted the previous version number...
EDITED: It looks, that Chevron update was only for OS, but the update from O2 also included HTC stuff... I just checked the version numbers from the ansars new O2 DE nodo ROM files and it seems the same...
Indeed. I previously had on:
RUU_Schubert_O2_UK_1.68.206.03_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a _22.36.50.15
Version is now 1.69.206.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U
Firmware is newer but Radio version is less. But from what I gather from XDA, lower radio version does not mean newer? Different versions work better in different parts of the world?
I used Chevron Updater, but got the HTC Update this morning, and it has the gradient but that is described here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12690055#post12690055
Hopefully HTC will fix it soon
Just got the NoDo update today via Zune, Unlocked HTC HD7 (O2 UK), even though I didn't receive an update notification on my phone.
At first the intended update showed an error!!!
I had to turn on the System Event Notification Service in Windows 7, it was disabled, got advice from here. (scroll down to last question on the page)

I ended up going to EU unbranded just to make sure I get all the updates right away from now on. Glad 02 finally released it

I have heard about the tool that Microsoft has just pulled out to fix the Walshed Device. You can search it on Bing on Google. Good Luck.
PS: I don't use Walsh's menthod to update so i am not worry about it. If you don't want to use the Microsoft Tools, just simply Re-flash your HD7 with Ansar 7004 ROM, Unlock and then get the Official Update through Zune.
Microsoft said that the Walshed Device will not get the future updates, and i think they are kinda serious about it.
Has anyone got the factory o2 mango rom for the HTC hd7? Does it enable internet sharing as i have the rtm version and does not have it. If the stock o2 rom has internet sharing is anyone able to upload and give manuals on how to flash back to o2
many thanks
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
The latest o2 Mango ROM can be found HERE
Flashed it myself a few days back and my phones been MUCH more stable, with a much better battery life and signal. I too was on unbranded Mango RTM before that.
I simply flashed that ROM straight away (download, unrar, Put phone in Bootloader, connect cable, run ROMUpdateUtility). No need to do anything else (R/HSPL, etc). Easy.
I haven't tested internet sharing but i'd advise you to flash that ROM anyway as like i said it's been a hell of a lot more stable and the Radio that's with it has massively improved my Signal and Battery life compared to whatever i was using with the Mango RTM.
You should get the update anyway if you are on RTM. If you use the above method you will wipe your device.
My wife had the RTM and she go a Firmware update pushed to her which has made her phone work flawlessly. All the HTC apps now work etc. Mine on the other hand is still waiting.....
I think it not drive missing
It does not work, because the mango version of the registry policy in htc.
We can not edit it, access restrictions!
I just got an HD7 to replace my broken HD2 and I wanted to update it before using it so I did the zune updates and then attempted to use seveneighter to update form 7.5 to 7.8. The updating was fine but then many features did not work email ,wifi, messaging plus more. So I restored the phone with zune but no joy this stuff still does not work. I hard reset and still no luck. So I would like to start over and load the original rom but have not been able to find a download. I am not sure if this will fix my problem thus I am asking for advice is this just a paperweight now. Can I reload the stock rom and start over , if so where could I get a copy pf the rom?
Many many thanks
More inforamtion
I have tried several times to run seveneighter again and and I get error 80180048. So it looks like the phone is missing some language packs. I have checked all packs available but this phone is a US at&t phone and it has many more packs listed than I can find available 50-60 different ones are listed on the phone. I looked at the manual cab installation thread and only 22 packs are available. I also tried the windows phone support tool and after running it the tool states cannot be recovered please contact technical support. I also tried the disconnect method on zune to force update the phone without result.
Just install Deepshining V8 or Dynamics V2.0, and you'll be fine, just be sure to downgrade the boot loader first.
PS: Don't ask me "how to downgrade" you can use the "SEARCH" function...
Look my signature, mine it's an AT&T too.
