hi i tried different roms they are:
gingerxperiav11
gingerxperiav12
gingerxperiav10
Minicm7.2.0.7I
I just downloaded XGin_5.0 and extracted the zip then XGin_5.0 comes and put it in the xrecovery>backup in my sd card and it works! but its a bit glitchy
I want to know why those zip roms with [data,META-INF,system] inside the zip cant install on my phone?

X8 custom roms mainly for E15i or E15a.......
But yours is E16i......
No idea at all....
Just wait may be someone can help out ....

Both E15 and E16 have the same configuration,(It seems to me as my friend has one)
So it should work, you might be making some mistake.
review your steps, try gingerdx or xgin 6.1,
copy the zip files on the sdcard root,
use cwm to flash.

All X8 ROMs and kernels works with W8.Use latest versions without Baseband checking.Try GCR8.4.You can edit ROM\META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script in notepad for disable baseband checking.you cap unpack zip ,edit and then repack. Hope this helps.Perform a full wipe with recovery to avoiding boot loops

all roms for x8 are working on w8
bcoz same specs

how ican disable baseband checkin

I have an answer for the thread .
W8 has a different kernel or loader then x8, and this creates problem.
Initially i also had this problem, but now ma bootloader is unlocked and i only have x8 E15i kernel, because Stock E16i kernel isn't available. Thus there might be no problem installing the above stated roms after flashing E15i kernel.
Although i uses custom Kernel from our beloved devs ALFSAMSUNG and nAa.
To Original poster:
Why you aren't unlocking bootloader?
Is your phone 11W29+ ?

Just open the ROM(.zip) file using WinRAR and delete validate file then try to install the ROM agin

All u need to do is flash baseband again.... download the latest baseband (that ends with 015) and flash it using flashtool. I also own w8 and had the same problem. But now its solved and m using XGin 6.2

it doesnt works

[Q] Error while installing custom roms

On my Sony Ericsson W8 I can't install kyuaDroid, GingerXperia, MiniCM and etc. I can only install GingerDX and FroyoBread. When I try to install the roms which I mentioned above all (except GingerDX and FroyoBread) are giving error like this " This rom is not compactable with your baseband. Update first to M7XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015".
But I have the SAME baseband.
How to solve it ?
My W8 is rooted and has Unlocked bootloader. What should. I do ? I should change kernel ? Or something?
As I'm a noob I don't know How to solve this.. So please help me as soon as possible.
Wow, no one replied? I'm having the same problem mate...

Kernel nAa is for MiniCM7 ROMs (and based-on ROMs). So You can choose between f.eg. original MiniCM7 2.1.9, iROM v005, GingerXperiaRay.
The ROM You mentioned is for ALFS kernel
If You unlocked Your bootloader it will be unlocked, even if You flash stock ROM. But if You do so You will have to change kernel and root Your phone again, cause stock ROM works only on stock kernel

No 3g signal after successful unlock GDX | alfs | 015

Hey guys. Sorry if this is the wrong section.
I have an e15a xperia x8 11v14 (perfectly unlockable)
The thing is that i wanted to update to gingerdx v28 from scratch so i went back to stock settings ( rom 2.1, no addons, original baseband, etc).
I followed all the steps to do a clean install
Installed e15a 015 baseband
Unlocked the phone with s1tool and msm7227_semc (before doing this it still showed e15a model, after this it started showing e15i)
Installed alfs kernel
Installed rom Gingerdx
Installed addons
blah blah
Pretty straight forward :good:
Now the thing is that i dont have 3g signal at all, so i went to check the baseband and it was half correct, like i said before it ended in 015 but my model said it was an e15i. Correct me if i'm wrong but i think e15i are models from europe so that would explain why 3g would't work (i'm from south america).
I tried to restore the phone using seus or pcc, with no luck (it kept saying that my phone was updated ).
I got all stock kernels, roms, basebands from stickies in XDA so i don't think that could be the problem.
Somehow AFTER i unlocked the phone the model changed and i cant change it back (tried rooting, flashtool, relock and so on)
Everything else works like a charm, very smooth, very fast, no complaints.
Any ideas about how change with another method cuz now i can't go back to my original e15a model.
PS: apn settings are OK too
Well i dunno if somehow this will be useful to anyone but i SOLVED the problem.
These are the steps i followed (IN THIS EXACT ORDER)
Before unlocking it root it with flashtool
Verify with s1tool it's locked (here's the post i used to do the unlocking http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957)
If everything is cool proceed to this:
install baseband 015 (for e15a model in my case)
install alfs kernel (latest for GDX)
install rom (latest GDX)
install alfs addon
full wipe
wipe davilk cache
wipe battery cache
enjoy
Anyway thanks to all for reading this post, hope it helps to people with my same problem.
PROBLEM SOLVED

Hey pal !
If you bricked your phone you should check this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011071
About the baseband, first u should check which baseband is correct for you. Phones in America use different frequency ranges than phones in Europe so, to begin with i'd need u to tell me where the phones was sold...anyway, most cooked roms need 015 baseband to be flashed instead of the 006. Check in your phone settings if your device model is E15a (a is for America) or E15i (i is for International, but mostly Europe).
For example: if your phone is E15a you should flash E15a_X8a_2.1.1.A.0.6_Baseband_015 in order to install any cooked rom.
You can find almost everything you'll need here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425240
BTW just in case check this thread to avoid hard bricking http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481630
Good luck !

Hey buddy
I strongly recommend gingerdx, it's the most stable rom i've tested and you have the choice to use a stock kernel or a modded one (like alfs or naa), plus there's a great guide to install it. [Q] How To for the Galaxy Note GT-N7000

Hello,
I am new to the XDAdevelopers forum and don't have much knowledge of rooting or installing customs roms to Android phones.
I currently own the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 and just looking around some videos I would love to have some customs rom installed on my phone, such as the new Jelly Bean roms that are out now.
I would love to know on how to root my Galaxy Note if there is a Noob Tutorial for rooting the galaxy note and maybe a Noob Tutorial on how to install Jelly Bean rom that is currently out (any suggestion on which rom would be great)
As I said I am a noob and don't have much knowledge on how to mod your android phones and any help would be greatly appreciated
FYI: Looked around the forums for the while, I couldn't find anything simple enough, I bet there is somewhere in the forum, not sure if I was looking correctly >.<

As long as you are on any safe kernel you can flash any JB rom, no matter if you are on any TW ICS, GB or CM9/10 roms. I am on CM10 right now and flashed it directly on stock LRQ ICS with Speedmod kernel.
