I don't know why, I'm in mass storage mode and I expected to just be able to copy and paste files like in Samsung Wave (or any other phones) but I cannot do it in Galaxy S.
Never liked mass storage mode. Enable USB debugging mode instead. Go to menu ->settings ->Applications -> Development -> USB debugging. Once connected to the PC, pull down the notification menu and select connect.
Thank you. Tried it but it doesn't work too. The micro sd partitions do not appear even if usb mode (debugging) is connected already.
Am I the only one experiencing this?
did you pull the notification bar and choose to connect to ur comp? if ur on froyo, once you click " mass storage " you should then see a green android on the screen with the option to connect to the computer. if you dont see the notification, unplug the usb and try again.
SOLVED after updating my firmware to JPU. Thank you for the help guys! It was as I suspected. For some reason, my phone owned the external microsd's filesystem after formatting (I was using JP2 firmware). I formatted it again after flashing to JPU and voila, all problems fixed.
aiutooo I can not see the internal memory can not understand what happened
I installed a new room and from that moment I can connect more with the pc x and even see the folders inside the tab, only connect with a download odin x, tried again to put a stock, but nothing to make the TEB is fine but I see more folders inside and I connect more with the PC
WHO CAN GIVE ME A HAND X SOLVE THE PROBLEM??
Many of the custom firmwares do not support Kies. So if you're trying to access the tablet via Kies, this is likely the problem.
When you plug in the tablet does an option on the tablet show up to mount as a USB storage device?

Hi all,
I've flashed rusty's CWM, temasek's kang and vadonka's kernel all in a row... unfortunately now when I plug my O2X to my PC it's not recognized It appears in device manager with the yellow exclamation marks and I can't seem to get rid of that.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
EDIT: Ok, reinstalled all drivers and everything, now it's all pretty, but I still can't get usb storage to work. In cyanogenmod application settings if I have internal storage ticked it asks me to turn on usb storage but then nothing shows up in my pc. If it is unticked nothing shows up to turn on usb storage... Also, no matter if it is ticked or not I can't get the camera to work...
Tick and untick usb debugging while usb is plugged in and then in device manager, click on scan for hardware changes and whatever comes there with yellow mark, click on update sftware>update automatically and it should automatically load drivers

Nevr forget the thanX button
Thanks for your reply.
I've reinstalled everything and now it's detected ok, but I still can't use usb storage. And I can't get the camera to work. I edited the first post.
Well... had to use an actual external card... put in the new temasek's kang and the new vadonka's kernel LOC 48 DS, factory reset, flash ROM, another factory reset, flash kernel, and voila.
Now it's working again. Let's hope it stays that way
I have installed the latest nightly for my galaxy note and I can't mount properly my storage. The USB prompt doesnt come up on the notification drawer.. Any ideas?
When plugging in your phone into usb, just go to settings-->Applications-->Development and check the USB debugging .If you can't mount SD Card and your pc doesn't recognise it then Your USB is bricked .. There is a tutorial on the forums that will help you with that : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691187
That's a known issue with CM, unfortunately. There are apps on the market that allow you to mount storage, although I use Airdroid.
Since using this I don't even care about the issue

Argh.. Are the devs aware of this? They need to fix it Also the phone randomly shuts off when the performance option is selected in the performance options..
Go to, setting> developer options and tick the usb debugging
Now go to settings> storage and press the menu key and choose the usb computer connection and tick the mass storage
Now you have the option of usb debugging in your notification when you connect your device to computer

Thanks for your advise, but it does not work at all... :crying:
The funny thing is that is used to work after installation of the nightley build 2 days ago. But suddendly it stopped working...
Even a re-install of the the older (or newer build) does not bring it back... :-(
Any other ideas?
With kind regards
Joe

Hmmm, the recent comments from users in Google Play (on the ad-version and the paid one) are very negative, and explicitly say that it does not work (anymore?) on CM9...
But I will give it a try today evening...
With kind regards
Joe

So I've installed Mackay ROM 2.91 of kasper_h. It works like a bliss ( i'm new so I cannot post in development section ) till some time.
When I plugged in usb cable to my mobile and pc it showed on P970 to mountSDcard and then it popped in on my pc BUT later on it failed to do so. Now I can only mount my SDcard via card adapter or in recovery mode it shows removable disk but do not open it but if I press mount USB mass storage device it open my sdCard on my pc))
SO WHAT THE HELL, why isn't it mounting while using my phone in normal way, connected to PC? but only in recovery lol...
Anyone got the very same issue?
I've found androidforums. com /desire-tips-tricks/365476-guide-usb-brick-fix. html but do not know if it is good solution for it and even if I do not understand it at all>.>.
Go to settings/storage, press menu and select USB connection. There are 3 diferent types, mtp, camera and mass storage. Try the others.
