[Q] I need to choose a kernel for my E15a

Hi, I have recently unlocked my bootloader because I want the benefits of a custom kernel but I don't know how to choose the new one, I'm using GingerDX V020 and I know the best kernel for this ROM is LinuxDX, but I wanna know if this kernel works well in other ROMs in case I desire to use another one, please help me and thanks in advance!
I don't completely understand your post.
Do you want to have another Kernel along with GingerDX or another ROM compatible with the LinuxDX kernel?
U can try by your self..
it same like Custom room (some people like this and other people like that)
Just try one by one
what I know is:-
-Alfs kernel
with nice FXP boot logo (replacing SE white logo)
-LinuxDX
using GingerDX orrange logo (replacing SE white logo)
no OC but you can feel it scrool very smooth
-nAa kernel
using very nice logo (replacing SE white logo)
you can OC to 829
u can simply flash onother one if u feel have to do..
Hi =D

I wasnt making a rom or anything i just needed a tested if the Cypress works!
Nice work...keep it up...i have tested your ROM
Kernel E15_nAa-06b_2.6.29.6-nAa-06b cypress not working
Kernel E15_nAa-06_2.6.29.6-nAa-06 cypress not working
Kernel X8_03-rc1_Alfs cypress still not working
Kernel X8_04.7-with_chargemon_Alfs cypress still not working
Kernel X8_05-with_chargemon-no_fps_cap_Alfs cypress still not working
Kernel x8_028_FXP cypress still not working
Kernel x8_030_FXP cypress still not working
Kernel FXP043_wifi_X8_CUSTOM cypress still not working
Kernel X8_update5_X8_update5 cypress still not working
Kernel x8_CM71 cypress still not working
BUT using stock Kernel i can touch and play with white circle same like visualkei post..
sorry for my bad english : (
I use Cypress and the touch isnt working. I guess you neeed to find the correct driver and make it function with the ROM itself. I can wait for a year it doesnt matter
well then whose rom is it....

i am ready to test again , if rom can running in stock kernel i think it will works on cypress
Can all the testing take place on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363903&page=1 Thank you all. I makes it easier to identify fixes what work, and which ones don't.
Cypress user fix this rom using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20035688&postcount=1191 and flash this rom using recovery + flash back your kernel to stock kernel.. its working for cypress..

-- all i know is stock kernel has no swap, and most custom kernel has swap and many other features which u can read on each kernel page
And can someone suggest which kernals is best and which is suitable rom for that kernal ?
-- u can read too on each kernel page for what rom
and is there any way to change the kernal startup screen ?
if that is your own kernel you can do it, but it's someone's hard work and they gave u (us) for free it wouldn't hurt you to leave the startup screen as it is.
just my 2 cents
i think... stock kernel can reboot to xrecovery n custom cant. but custom have big feature... i like
alfs+gdx
naa+gc
naa+gxperia
naa+gdx wifi not work..
sorry i'm new user..

[Q] help for linuxdx!

can anybody recompile linuxdx with the cypress nonsensitive fix? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364045 this is what i mean, can anybody help? coz i wanted to try linuxdx but without the fix, its keeping me away from it. and im trying to overclock higher as in alfs kernel its limited to 787mhz, or is there a way to work this out so i can achieve higher clock in alfs kernel?

[Q] Kernel

Hi there. For first sorry for my english, 'cause it sucks.. I have installed GingedDX on my Xperia x8 and I have a question about kernel. Do I can install custom kernel? Or do I need it? If yes, what is the best kernel in your opinion? Thanks for reply.
GingerDX supports 3 kernels: SE stock, LinuxDX and Alfs for GingerDX. 1st and 2nd won't allow You to OC Your CPU. Only Alfs has this feature. On the other hand - if You're not OC fan, than You should try LinuxDX, cause it was created by doixanh [He creates GingerDX as well].
But all of Your doubts may go away if U won't be able to unlock Your bootloader. If this happen - You will be able to use only stock SE kernel
Ok, my phone can have custom kernel. But is it worth it? I think that Alfs for GingerDX + GingerDX should work great. I want OC a bit my phone's processor, because my phone lags very often.. Should it work better than now?
I tried a combination of stock kernel + GingerDX and Alfs + GingerDx. For me the 2nd one gave a boost to my x8, so in Your case it would be probably the same
Stock kernel + GingerDX and Alfs + GingerDx? You mean 2 kernels? And sorry I can't understand this: For me the 2nd one gave a boost to my x8.
My english is weak, sorry Did you mean "jeden z dwóch"?
I tried both combinations - GingerDx + stock kernel, then I flashed ALFS and was using it with GingerDX
Polish: Próbowałem obu kombinacji - GingerDx + stock oraz ALFS + GingerDX. Jak dla mnie drugie połączenie przyspiesza działanie telefonu
Ah, okay, now I understand Okay, thanks then. I will try
@EDIT
My phone is dead now :/ I have unlocked bootloader, I've got message that everything is done. Reboot and phone doesn't work.. Crap :/
dude.. English doesnt Suck.. probably your grammer might . And there are custom kernels like Alfs and nAa, which you can install at your own risk.. Search the forums for further info...

You can't overlock your CPU on stock? So how am I doing it then?
Sent from my XPERIA X8 using xda premium
On ALFS kernel this feature is built-in. On LinuxDX or stock U have to use modules or other stuff.
linuxDx neither with modules..only stock kernel with modules and alfs with built in, you can overclock..flash alfs if you like or dislike oc..if you don't like you don't need to use the oc..so, the best kernel for gingerDx is ALFS KERNEL
sorry my bad english
stock kernel can oc too, use module.
