can anybody recompile linuxdx with the cypress nonsensitive fix? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364045 this is what i mean, can anybody help? coz i wanted to try linuxdx but without the fix, its keeping me away from it. and im trying to overclock higher as in alfs kernel its limited to 787mhz, or is there a way to work this out so i can achieve higher clock in alfs kernel?

Hi guys, im using gingerdx and i noticed that overclock doesn't work anymore..it used to work with froyobread. Is this temporary or do i have to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom kernel..cuz that seems kind of difficult to me.

Did you flash new Kernel? I believe OC module is now within the Kernel, and not in the ROM. Now that the Kernel is different, then (if you still have the module), it might be referencing a different Kernel...
Dig deeper.
In the meantime, you can flash a new ROM (MiniCM7) which is not dependant on the Kernel to use OC module.
GingerXperia it's a good rom where you can OC the procesor and Floyo by ratch it's a good option too
Ohh i got you... i wondered why it didnt work because before gingerdx i used floyo and it workd! Cheers mate!

nah i wont install a new rom...maybe dx will place an overclock module too...i hope!
nevermind i retought my decisions and ive decided to go with gingerxperia..overall is it faster than gingerdx?
overclock will drain your battery more faster
i will only overclock it by 33mhz..it makes a bit of difference and it doesnt affect the battery that much...
i you want over-clock only from 600MHz to 633 then you will have only a litte more points i processor score in quadrant but 2d and 3d scores will be suck.
i you want to over-clock then min must be 691MHz because the 2d and 3d scores will near the same at the 600MHz without module enabled.
Read that from 447th post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020313&page=45
overclocked it to 651mhz and im getting better quality in fps too! plus theres 200 points difference in the final score!
overclock works on gingerdx without kernel change
didnt work on mine :s..but anyways i installed gingerxperia and its MUCH faster than gingerdx...im not hating or anything but its the truth!
what do you mean what is your quadrant total score and 3d 2d ones?
i forgot lol..but i did a benchmark without overclock and then with the overclock and i got a better2d and 3d score..but not by much.
ok thanks but can you see improvment in the fps in games from gingerdx to gingerxperia
can someone tell me how to overclock xperia x8 while using gingerDX v012 without changing the kernel?thanks
yes i actually can see quite a difference actually!
Does any one know how to remove the multitouch from a kernel?
as far as i know u cannot remove modules from kernel (untill unless u are a dev).....i may wrong..
in alfs kernel the max cpu clock is 787, i wanted to go to 806mhz.
coz ive been stable on 806mhz on STOCK kernel and now ive flashed alfs kernel but its limiting me at 787mhz -.-? help? or could i just load the module like i did with stock kernel? would it work?
my phone heated up like hell in just 15 min when i flashed 815Mhz...i used gc 8.4 then...stable at 710 Mhz....
ahhahaahhaah ..you noob : )
pls answer my question guys,
u're going off topic ==!

haha...the ics port was supergood...but im still a noob and thats a fact...so step by step learning and i learned about modules... today ive been playing with nexus rom ported to x8.....
and to the thread: by the way the alfs kernel was supergood for gdx...i havent used that rom...will xperiment this night with gdx...which rom are u using anyway???
im on gdx v20 with alfs v5.
its just that i cant seem to see the option to go above 787mhz.
is it ok to just load X8overclock by doixanh module in the rom as i already have alfs kernel that enables overclocking?

Flash miniCM and nAa kernel.best rom and kernel, and in overclock you can go upto 825 mhz.

Alfs kernel have OC module inside. No matter what rom you put on it max will be 787.
Also if you NOT delete oc/uv module from rom it will cause instability when OC.
806 Mhz .. with alfs kernel it imposibble.. why did u need higher freq, even if the 787 Mhz is pretty stable..
*Sorry for my bad english
Hi there. For first sorry for my english, 'cause it sucks.. I have installed GingedDX on my Xperia x8 and I have a question about kernel. Do I can install custom kernel? Or do I need it? If yes, what is the best kernel in your opinion? Thanks for reply.
GingerDX supports 3 kernels: SE stock, LinuxDX and Alfs for GingerDX. 1st and 2nd won't allow You to OC Your CPU. Only Alfs has this feature. On the other hand - if You're not OC fan, than You should try LinuxDX, cause it was created by doixanh [He creates GingerDX as well].
But all of Your doubts may go away if U won't be able to unlock Your bootloader. If this happen - You will be able to use only stock SE kernel
Ok, my phone can have custom kernel. But is it worth it? I think that Alfs for GingerDX + GingerDX should work great. I want OC a bit my phone's processor, because my phone lags very often.. Should it work better than now?
I tried a combination of stock kernel + GingerDX and Alfs + GingerDx. For me the 2nd one gave a boost to my x8, so in Your case it would be probably the same
Stock kernel + GingerDX and Alfs + GingerDx? You mean 2 kernels? And sorry I can't understand this: For me the 2nd one gave a boost to my x8.
My english is weak, sorry Did you mean "jeden z dwóch"?
I tried both combinations - GingerDx + stock kernel, then I flashed ALFS and was using it with GingerDX
Polish: Próbowałem obu kombinacji - GingerDx + stock oraz ALFS + GingerDX. Jak dla mnie drugie połączenie przyspiesza działanie telefonu
Ah, okay, now I understand Okay, thanks then. I will try
@EDIT
My phone is dead now :/ I have unlocked bootloader, I've got message that everything is done. Reboot and phone doesn't work.. Crap :/
dude.. English doesnt Suck.. probably your grammer might . And there are custom kernels like Alfs and nAa, which you can install at your own risk.. Search the forums for further info...

You can't overlock your CPU on stock? So how am I doing it then?
Sent from my XPERIA X8 using xda premium
On ALFS kernel this feature is built-in. On LinuxDX or stock U have to use modules or other stuff.
linuxDx neither with modules..only stock kernel with modules and alfs with built in, you can overclock..flash alfs if you like or dislike oc..if you don't like you don't need to use the oc..so, the best kernel for gingerDx is ALFS KERNEL
sorry my bad english
stock kernel can oc too, use module.
I want to install gingerdx on my x8. I want to use Alfs kernel but i don't know what kernel use? X8_08a-GDX-no_fps_cap_Alfs&Djnilse Or X8_08a-GDX_Alfs&Djnilse? Or ... ?
Thanks for help.

Read the Alfs thread.....
The one with the label (no fps cap) means that it has had the 60fps cap on the X8 disabled whereas the one without the "no fps cap" label still has the 60pfs cap.
I recommend the fps-capped version because it has better battery life, V-sync (which prevents screen tearing), and relatively constant animation speeds. Less bugs have also been reported with the fps-capped version.
Thanks so much. (I don't read careful on Alfs's thread. ..)
