apt-x supported? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey xda,
does the Galaxy S support "apt-x" (lossless codec for audio over bluetooth)?
If not, I heard that the Galaxy Tab 7.0 supports apt-x, is it portable to other Samsung Phones like S I, S II etc.?
Maybe supercurio got an idea

I'd like to know as well.

Audio Beats on galaxy S2

Hello and congratulations for the work you do.
I am a new owner of the Galaxy S2 and Desire HD coming from, I must say that I regret the lack of technology Beats Audio. The audio quality in headphones or speakers does not excites me that much. I am a musician is I guarantee you that while working with the equalizer you hear a great sound of this little gem ..
Is there a way to import audio Beats of the S2 Galaxy 9100?
Thanks to all ...

Does SGSA have Wolfson?

I've searching but I can't find an answer.
Advance have Wolfson Audio or not?
"Sorry, this device doesn't run a kernel supporting extended sound controls" - information from Wolfson apk from Google Play.
If only you could read. All over the net, every review site says that this device supports alsa
I do not respond to tech support via PM
Okay, but I'm newbie and this alsa technology is not known to me. So what DAC we have? Sorry for my questions, but I'm curious because SGSA play's music better than SGS2.
Yes. I am also curious whether Galaxy S Advance also have wolfson DAC as Galaxy S?
Wolfson is better sounding DAC then Cirrus Logic DAC Apple's using in their iOS devices.
Where do you found a wolfson apk in playstore. I only found voodoo control

[Q] S4 active & Bluetooth APt-x

I recently purchase the At&t S4 active and a pairs of Sennheiser MM-550X,
Those of you who don't know apt-x is codec for bluetooth to keep the sound quality as the original (really close to) source sound files,
in compare to normal Bluetooth which downgrade sound quality to near 120Kbps.
SGS4 active supposed to support this but on the web there's so little information about it,
So.. I want to know how can i confirm Mine got the Apt-x? from what I heard some android version Not support this..
Does Acid audio engine support this?
Is anyone tried?
Thanks!

Also interested, how to make sure that APT-X is working on new 4.4 Kitkat stock ROM? Thx!
Sorry for bumping this thread.
I would also like to know if there is a possible way of seeing if APT-x is active.
From my experience, I don't seem to hear any difference in quality between my S4 and iPad, but the iPad does not support APT-x.
The quality sounds terrible compared to a wired connection, loosing fine detail present in a 320kbps track. It also sounds compressed as well.

[Q] Playing Video On The GT3: Indeo Encoded?

I have a video file that was encoded with Indeo 5, and I've tried a few players, the first two only play the audio however it just makes awful broken sounds, while VLC Beta actually plays the video but the sound is all broken.
So, does anyone know what I can use to play the video on Android with the audio & video working properly?
I've got the Galaxy Tab 3 7" (WiFi) w/ 4.1.
This is tab 7 inch original forum (tab 1 if you want to count)
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Then where's the one for the GT3 7" WiFi only version..?!
Not here?
to be fair to you.
Ask there where the Tab 3 non-wifi is.
They may know better than us the P1000 owners.

aptX HD

Any news if S9/S9+ will support aptx HD? It says on qualcomm website that SD 845 supports aptX Classic/HD, but not sure if it will actually be available.
A big question! Plus Sony LDAC?

LDAC is suported. Also somehing called Samsung HD no idea what that is.
Now I'm curious about MQA, since I have Tidal, and apparently the V30 supports MQA... Debating whether to get the S9 or the V30 now.... Slightly better hardware, or better sound? Tough choice...
LDAC will definitely be supported.

As someone with a V30 who can't wait to get rid of the thing, in my opinion the audio quality boost just isn't worth the headaches of LG's crap software. They're basically about where Samsung was on the S4 as far as stability and usefulness goes.
Can someone explain what aptX HD is?

It's a Bluetooth codec it basically sends more data via Bluetooth to your Bluetooth headphones or speaker giving you better sound quality. The headphones or speaker needs to support aptx hd also for it to be effective

No aptxhd as I have the s9+ and when u go to developer settings and choose the bluetooth codec theres aptx only I'm using the exynos version
Interestingly, LDAC is not turned on automatically. You have to go to bluetooth settings, find relevant headphones, enter its settings and then trigger LDAC on.
Is there a way to see how each bluetooth connection is talking? Connect my headphones and see that it is currently using aptx or sbc and such?
Yes that is found in developer options in the settings menu

found a well written article : https://www.pocket-lint.com/headpho...-what-is-aptx-hd-and-which-devices-support-it
and apparently there is a site of apt-x indexing which products support their new codec https://www.aptx.com/products?field_aptx_type_tid=483
it's interesting as well as kinda confusing for customers to find product/s (in this case cellphone/s) that will be able to widely support many new acclaimed HD audio codecs.
in regards with samsung phones with Exynos chip, not sure if it supports aptX & aptX HD as of now.
Turn on developer options, then scroll down and you'll find bluetooth codecs. You can select which one you want to use and quality over performance or vice versa etc.
I can confirm that the Exynos version doesn’t support aptX hd. Seeing as it’s a hardware issue, it’s very unlikely that it ever will. Shame as my new b&w px supports the codec. Guess I’ll have to wait for another phone.

I kinda have a feeling that the 'AptX' codec in dev options is just AptX HD but they decided to call it AptX for whatever reason.
