D3 Corporate Sync problem - Motorola Droid 3

Contacts sync seem to sync addresses only the first time - any changes are not reflected, i.e.:
Contacts on Exchange do contain addresses - once Corporate Sync link is set up, they copy into the phone properly
Change of the address on the phone is not reflected on Exchange, whereas change of the phone number etc. is
Change of the address on PC (Outlook->Exchange) is not reflected on the phone
Am I the only one experiencing this, or does anybody else have the same experience?

E-mai account merging

Hi Everyone
First post so please go easy.
I hae set up my new tytnII for email, with two pop3 accounts and set it to synch with my outlook email on my laptop.
What I would like to do is to set the device to merge the pop3 email accounts into my outlook section and folder lists so that i can download emails on the device and then when i synch it all matches up. Otherwise I will get duplication on the device I think.
If I tap and hold on an email in a pop3 account folder i can move it to another folder in the same account folders but not to other pop3/outlook folders.
Can this be done?
Thanks
Tom
You won't get duplication. The e-mail you sync from your PC is entirely separate from e-mail you download directly. So you'll get each message exactly once on each platform that you pull it from. You'll probably want to make sure that the TyTN II is set not to delete messages when it retrieves them. But the sync won't cause the message to show twice on the PC - it's treated as a completely different message in a completely different data store.
Hi
I have been looking into this a little further and have found that if I run my email account by IMAP settings this synchronises with my online email account and so far works very well.
I have also done this with my outlook email on my laptop and this makes life much easier!!
So everytime I synch with either device with the IMAP settings regardless of where I read the email it changes its status etc on each device and online.
Awesome.
Cheers for your help.

have a question...

Once upon a time (before having my kick ass Hero...) I had an exchange email address set up with my gmail fwd'ed to that exchange server (mail2web).
Well, I am curious if anyone has a ny suggestions on how I should go about taking all my contacts I had sync'd through the exchange server, and adding them to my gmail account, or whatever else may be a good solution? I only get spam on my mail2web email address anymore. Just want to take it off my phone.
Hope this makes sense to everyone... And if need be, I have a rooted hero w/ the unofficial modaco (obelisk79) updated rom.
Once again, thanks in advance, everyone!

Click to collapse
In Outlook:
go to File, Import/Export
choose "Export to a file"
choose "Comma Separated Values (Windows)"
in the "Select folder to export from:" screen, choose Contacts
choose a path to save the csv file
From there, go into your GMail contacts and select "Import".. feed it the CSV file and you're all set
The above is good for a one-time sync. I know there are programs out there that will keep the two synced up, but I've only used one (and it was a while ago and had some issues), so I don't want to recommend any...
Anyone else have good experience with a contacts sync app between Outlook and GMail and want to share?
If your Exchange contacts have phone numbers, be careful. I had this issue syncing my friends Verizon Voyager contacts to Gmail. The phone numbers would show up in the Notes field in Gmail because Gmail did not like the table structure. Gmail might work well with an exchange.csv but this wasn't the case with me and my friends Verizon contacts. When you get your *.csv file, you may have to modify the tables in Excel. Create a sample contact list in Gmail with phone numbers and all the neccessary data, then export the Gmail contacts to csv using exchange format. The table structure between the Exchange server and Gmail may be slightly different. Again, in Excel make sure that your exchange.csv table names are similar to your exported gmail.csv file. Once the exchange.csv uses table names that Gmail likes, you will easily be able to import it to Gmail and all the correct data will be in it's proper place. It is okay to delete empty tables.

WTF? Contacts not pushing updates to exchange server

WTF - updated the phone number for one of my contacts in the People app.
On my phone it shows the correct new phone number.
This change does not sync to the server.
WTF? How do I fix this?
PS: I do NOT use google contacts nor do I have a gmail email account on this device.
i'm having the same exact problem. so annoying. any ideas?
is there a way to turn on a exchange log on motox?

[Q] After updating to sense 6 i can't save contact

After i updated to Sense 6 the other day, I suddenly can't save contact.
When i get a new number, i write the name etc in the contact and save the contact.
But after rebooting nothing is saved, and i'm back to only having the number, no name etc.
It seems to work when i save on SIM but not when i save on exchange, where the rest of my contact are.
It seems i can't sync from HTC -> exchange or from exchange ->HTC
I try to setup a new contact in outlook and sync on my htc, but its not showing up on my mobil.
I sat up a new contact on my mobil and sync,,but nothing shows up in outlook.
It will sync my mail and calendar, BUT not my contacts.
I have noticed that my sync is sat to OFF, and don't really know how to set it to ON.?

Outlook Exchange connectivity and moving contacts

I have a Pixel 5 that I've been using Outlook on because I hate the gmail client, which has been working fine until now, when I'm trying to add a new Exchange account. I'm having two issues that may be somewhat related or not. As part of moving to the new server, I had to remove my old account. Before doing so, I moved all of my contacts from that account to the device. When I selected them all and then selected 'Move to another account', I was given the choice of moving to the device or to google. As I DO NOT want want my contacts in google, I moved them to my device. I then removed my old account, and proceeded to try to set up Outlook for my new account, which I end up getting 'The connection to your mail server times out. Please check your mail settings.'. The settings are correct, and other mail apps (gmail, nine, etc) work fine. Only Outlook refuses. About the only thing I've been able to find is Microsoft claiming it's because TLS 1.0 and/or 1.1 are enabled or it's a certificate issue. Well, it's not. The certificate is proper and trusted, and only TLS 1.2 is enabled on the server, 1.0 & 1.1 are disabled. Microsoft 'testconnectivity' site confirms that all is proper and functioning, including activesync.
I more or less gave up on Outlook for now, although if someone knows something I haven't found that'll make it work, that would be appreciated, however, at least for now, I decided to give Nine a shot, which may be a viable option. But that's where my other issue comes in. When I moved all of my contacts from my old account to my device, I was given the option of moving to my device or to my gmail account. Now, with my contacts on my device, when I select them all and try to move them, the only option is the gmail account. The 'Contacts' from the Nine app show up in the list of accounts when I go to select what account I want 'Contacts' to look in, and when I move a contact into my Exchange contacts, it shows up on my phone, and if I try to move the contact synced from Exchange via Nine, it give me the device and gmail options, but the phone refuses to give me an option to move my contacts that are on the phone anywhere other than gmail. Does anyone have any ideas why?
Thanks
Just to add - I dug out my old HTC phone and charged it up to do some further testing... using it's 'Exchange Activesync for HTC Sense' (which, in my opinion, is probably the best, most straightforward e-mail client I've ever used on an android phone), it works PERFECTLY. No stupidness, syncs things as expected, contacts and all. I set my account up on an older ipad that doesn't run the latest ios and thus won't run outlook, but with the native app, works perfectly. But my Pixel doesn't seem to know what the heck it wants to do. It seems like everything other than 'Outlook for Android' and my pixel knows what it should be doing and just does it, but my pixel is just out there running circles in the cornfield..... I also saw some bit where I could select WHICH contact lists to sync where there were more than one in the account, but I haven't been able to find that again, and have moved all 'contacts' folders out into a PST so that it's not trying to sync all of the different contacts folders when it does decide to sync something.
