What about KKA? Will it work?
Hello,
is KKA the firmware version or baseband?
EDIT:
KKA is the firmware version ... no is only for the KK9
Baseband is KK5, build number is KKA.
Can't download from phone, will try again when I get to a computer

what is the crt animation???
the website doesnt work to download the file
Derjan23 ,
Would you mind telling me what files you modified to get the crt effect. I want to recompile my framework res (I'm on KK1).
Or else point me to a giude for acheiving this.
Thanx a million.
1. Decompile the framework-res.apk with Apk-Manager
2. Edit res/values/bools.xml
3. Search for "config_animateScreenLights" and change the "true" to "false".
4. Compile with Apk-Manager (System-App)
5. Make a update.zip with the new framework-res.apk
Would like this too on KKA!
EDIT: Never mind! Got it working through this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1349149&highlight=crt

Thnx so much for those easy instructions. Got the CRT off working no problem.
However, I really want the CRT on effect as well and I see u got a framework here with it. Would you mind sharing what stuff to extract from the CRT-ON fw-res, in order to apply it to my own modded KK1.
Cheers mate.
works the crt effect after you make a screenshot with the s-pen or home+power ?
framework-res.apk too big for UOT kichen
framework-res.apk is too big to be imported in UOT kitchen (limited to 14000k) to include any battery custmomisation. Original KK9 framework-res.apk is 11828k. The one including CRT ON is 17200k. Why a so big difference ?

Blue-segmented Battery Indicator Mod CWM Flashable zip, cooked in UOT Kitchen (online) from STOCK JL4 framework-res.apk (attached below).
Just copy to /sdcard and flash using CWM.
A perhaps more conservative approach would be to cook your own CWM flashable using UOT Kitchen (online):
http://circle.glx.nl/
XDA thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775970
I say more conservative only in that the UOT Kitchen website will cook the precise version of the framework-res.apk that currently resides on your phone, thus eliminating any chance of versioning problems. This is very easy to do, even for a klutz like me. Takes all of ~15 minutes; no programming at all, just upload the framework-res.apk from your phone and download the resulting CWM flashable. Having said that, the attached flashable works fine on stock JL4.
It seems to me that this method may well represent a future trend in mod'ing, given that it is so flexible (configurable) and that the dev need only maintain a single website-based version of his/her code. Great job, QLIRATU, MENDOZINAS, AVREEN, and company!
Screen-by-screen instructions for Vibrant users, to avoid ambiguity:
(1) Make sure that you are running a deodexed ROM; otherwise this will not work. (E.g., both geoffcorey and krylon360 recently posted stock Vibrant Froyo JL4 flashables in both odexed and deodexed versions. Use the deodexed version).
(2) First Screen: I used the first version option on the first page of the website, "SCB with %, Version [A-J]". More specifically, I used Version B-White because I have black wallpaper.
(3) Second Screen: Choose "do not include icons" (that has to do with other mod'ing not applicable to Vibrant).
(4) Third screen: Choose "do not change notification status bar" (N/A to Vibrant).
(5) Fourth screen: Choose "do not include boot animation." (N/A to Vibrant).
(6) Fifth screen: Choose "not not include Windows animation" and disregard the warning in red. (N/A to Vibrant).
(7) Sixth screen: As detailed on website and in XDA thread, you can upload the version of framework-res.apk currently on your phone, or the version in the flashable zip file that you used to install your current ROM. If you do the latter, don't do what I did at first and try to upload the unzipped framework-res.apk from the flashable ROM file. You must unzip the flashable ROM file and then upload the unzipped framework-res.apk.
(8) Download cooked result from link provided and flash using CWM. I deleted cache and Dalvik cache from CWM environment after flashing and before re-booting, although that is probably not necessary.
(9) It might be a good idea to un-install any previously-installed battery indicator mod (e.g., a battery indicator downloaded from Market) before installing this one, although I do not know whether this is necessary.
Enjoy!

The battery mod is neither a theme nor an app. It is a system function that does not exist in the stock ROM (e.g., displaying precise percentage of remaining battery charge).

Right. This was cooked in UOT Kitchen; and UOT Kitchen only does deodexed. In general, odexed ROMs are not mod'able because parts of their applications are stored in various places.
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-709630.html
"Deodexed ROMs have their .apk's (which are basically the application packages) repackaged in a certain way. An "odex" can be thought of as a collection of parts of applications that have been pulled out and optimized before booting. This speeds up the boot process - in a way, it preloads part of the applications - but it also makes hacking those apps difficult because part of the original code is already extracted somewhere else.
Deodexing is just a process of putting those pieces back into the original applications. It takes a while to extract those parts and build the .dex cache (aka Dalvik cache), but only because the relevant parts aren't in an easy-to-access place for the system. The advantage of this is that an app can be modified effectively and the developer doesn't have to worry about conflicts from the separate odex part of the code.
So, short version: "Deodexed" ROMs have all their apps put back together. If an app can be themed, for example, a deodexed version of that app will not get messed up when the modified .apk tries to mesh with the odex of the original un-modified .apk. Because it's not there.
If you want an aftermarket theme, you need a deodexed ROM. I'm not sure if deodexing can be done to individual apps within a non-deodexed ROM."

You must mean battery life on JL5? (Because this mod will have microscopic or no effect on battery life.)
As to JL5, I am in the process of investigating JL5 compared to JL4. I will post results in due course.

I believe not, but you will need to check with the UOT Kitchen peoople.
This will not work with Axura 2.2 with JL5 stock Voodoo5 Kernel. Got me stuck into into boot ani bootloop. I flashed back a recent Nandroid and was fine.
The Kernel may be based on stock but the framework-res.apk is too modified in the Rom to run this and is not based on JL5. Custom boot ani's in custom roms are tied into battery mods and through this crap way off.
Like the op said STOCK, and that must mean completely stock not just a kernel based on stock.
The search for an accurate battery mod that I can see with Axura continues.

I may not be following your post very well. When you say "this" will not work with Axura 2.2 w/ JL5, are you talking about the flashable zip attached to the OP, or to the method using UOT Kitchen? I believe that UOT kitchen will cook whatever framework-res.apk you are currently running. Just copy your framework-res.apk to the root of your SD card and upload it to UOT kitchen to cook-in the segmented battery mod, if you have not already tried that. UOT kitchen is very easy to use, as I described in the OP, certainly easier than "continuing the search."
I just edit the framework-res.apk for my milestone2,
it have a black status bar now
but the text-color still black,I try deodex the services.odex ,edit it and smali
insert classes.dex into services.jar
adb push services.jar /system/framework
but it doesn't work... and cann't boot~~
what's the right way to deodex it?
I'm having problems deodexing too...
I used dsixda's Android Kitchen to deodex the framework from my system.img (created a blank boot.img to be able to load the files), but can't deodex android policy and service. They're the only two apks I can't deodex.
Someone could post a tutorial or already patched files.

tell me if I understand ...
- you get the ZIP-manufactured by UOT
- you do not flash via CMW
- You unzipped the three files "framework-res.apk, and systemui.apk twframework.apk" instead of the original
and you get the same results? (for me I just want icons and battery)
ya...i just want to make it for my battery only...ahaks...
had try to make it works by using other theme zip..by pulling all its folders into the zip and removing all the thing inside the previous theme zip im using it except meta files and some of its script..i can flash it,but the themes not there...same as do we port a theme...

before any "significant change" should always make a FULL backup to avoid the kind of problem you have ...
I had not done badly and took me in!
Sometimes a simple reflash of the ROM is sufficient but not always, unfortunately.
I do not know if a simpler way is possible but if you find roms "deodexed stock" here:

And other way is,to copy ur framework-res.apk,twframework.apk & ur systemui.apk using root explorer to ur sd card before modded anything...easy for u to revert back it u want to flash theme on stock deodexed...

I have had some people asking how to get the Samsung Ripple Lockscreen working so I thought I would add a small guide here how to do it so it can be done to any JB Samsung based ROM for both 31XX and 51XX tab 2s as has been tested on both. Tested on 4.1.2 but not on 4.1.1 but should still work for that too. This is the first how to I have done so sorry if it is not very good
Prerequisites
Deodexed Jelly Bean Samsung Based Rom
Apktool
Text Editor eg notepad++
Knowledge how to decompile and build apks and jars
You will need two files from the system/framework of your rom
1.framework-res.apk
2.services.jar
Framework-res.apk Changes
Decompile framework-res.apk
Navigate to folder framework-res/res/values
Open bools.xml in a text editor
look for
Code:
<bool name="config_isWaterRippleEnabled">false</bool>
and change to
Code:
<bool name="config_isWaterRippleEnabled">true</bool>
That is all for the framework-res.apk so build framework-res and copy across the META-INF folder from your original framework-res.apk to the newly compiled framework-res.apk and that is ready to go.
This will now give you the option in lockscreen settings to select ripple effect but depending on the base your wallpaper may be hidden with ripple effect enabled so to fix that you need to mod services.jar
Services.jar Changes
Download the attached WindowAnimator.zip
Extract WindowAnimator.smali from zip
Decompile services.jar
Navigate to smali/com/android/server/wm
Replace WindowAnimator.smali with the one attached
That is all that is needed for services.jar so build services.jar and it is ready to go
This will make your wallpaper visible when ripple lockscreen is selected.
Put the files in a flashable zip and flash in cwm or twrp recovery, push to system/framework or copy into system/framework which ever you prefer doing, personally I always just flash them in custom recovery so you can use the attached zip and and place your modded files inside and flash if you wish
Note
Same WindowAnimator.smali can be used for both 31XX and 51XX I have used it in both my roms for 31XX and 51XX
Ripple Lockscreen does not work with live wallpaper set as lockscreen wallpaper
This is only for Deodexed Samsung Based Jelly Bean roms
Feel free to include this in your rom just give credits.
How To Have Transparent SystemUI For 31XX
All changes are done to SystemUI.apk so you need to decompile it and apply the following changes below
Open res/layout/twsuperstatusbar.xml
Change this
Code:
android:background="#ff000000"
To this
Code:
android:background="#00000000"
Then open res/values/drawables.xml
Change this
Code:

#ff1e1e1e

To this
Code:

#00000000

This is for full transparent status bar but you can change the colour code in drawables to any shade of transparency or another colour if you want
This is all that is needed to have the status bar show transparent
To have a transparent background for the pull down or to have any picture you like these changes are required.
Open res/layout/twstatusbarexpanded.xml
Change this
Code:
android:background="@drawable/notification_panel_bg"
To this
Code:
android:background="@drawable/tw_notification_panel_bg"
Download the attached png called tw_notification_panel_bg.png and add it to res/drawable-mdpi
This is all that is needed to make the drop down window transparent or to any picture you like.
If you want other parts set to transparent as well in the dropdown for example the notifications title, where the date is etc you will need to
Open res/layout/twstatusbarexpanded.xml
Look for all
Code:
android:background="#colorcode"
Change to this
Code:
android:background="#00000000"
If you want to change the quick settings buttons background then you need to edit the png labelled tw_quick_panel_quick_setting_button_bg_normal.9 to a transparent one as well as for the tw_status_bar_close_off.png and tw_status_bar_close_on.png they can be changed to a transparent image as well so you will pretty much have a full transparent SystemUI

I have had some people asking how to get the Samsung Ripple Lockscreen working so I thought I would add a small guide here how to do it so it can be done to any JB Samsung based ROM for both 31XX and 51XX tab 2s as has been tested on both. Tested on 4.1.2 but not on 4.1.1 but should still work

I really dn't know what are talking about...
anyway, what I did:
-decompiled framework-res.apk >> edited bool.xml using Notepad++
-decompiled services.jar >> replaced the file
-downloaded the zip that you uploaded
-copied META-INF folder from the original framework-res.apk to new that you uploaded
-put services.jar and framework-res.apk in the zip
-flashed using CWM...
BOOTLOOP :silly:
Sorry i mean't the services.jar not android policy.
Anyways. you did wrong. I'll upload a flashable zip once i get home. At school right now.

Heres the ripple lockscreen for MicroDelta 4.1.2. Flashable with any recovery that supports updater-script's(Every single recovery ever made for gtab2 will work.).

I don't know why you have framework-res2.apk as Samsung roms do not have that but you need the first one framework-res.apk
