Hello, I first wish to say that I did a basic search and didnt find any info. maybe I searched wrong since this is first time this has happend to a phone I know of.
second I don't have time to do a full extensive search, sorry if it looks like I didnt search but I did.
Anyways here to the problem:
What happend? Well the Note just died. from simple usage. the screen is all black, won't boot at all, can't even see any lights. (Got Desire HD, Tho I don't remember this phone had a charging/signal light, but I believe it has)
The Note is my mothers so she wanted me to look at it.
There were no problems during flash or, rather it wasnt me who flashed it. but got it pre-flashed of tradera (part of ebay) and nothing was wrong besides old rom, was waiting for full drivers ICS since I havn't seen one for the N7000 so I havn't flashed a ICS rom since my mother needs the most support but anyway
I tried taking the battery of and putting it back again (Fixes 90% of my problems!), I tried fail-safe booting it. I am kinda stumped on what to do, so if know whats the problem and if its a cheap one I will be happy to do it. hopefully its not a motherboard replacement... :-( then I will cry...
Edit:
It turns out it started working with 25% battery after being having battery taken out for 1 hour, and was in the wall socketed charger for 7 hours. YAY!
So it just died in middle of using it normally?
You didn't do any wipes or such in recovery and then it didn't start after that?

I am not sure there is enough detail here to be able to help. But if it does not go to download mode with the usual ways or with a USB jig, then it will need to go to samsung repair centre, or you could try to JTAG first.
But if it is a result of a bad bootloader flash, then JTAG might work. If its due to a bad ICS kernel flash, then motherboard replacement is most likely.
Hope it works out.
First of All, it doesn't have ICS yet. (since i havnt found a good kies ICS yet that everything works on yet, havnt checked the past few weeks)
Second, it died in standby mode, during work when she was gonna take a picture for her work (she has card that allows usage of camera during work place in volvo)
Third, it wasnt during flash or anything. I will have to check the phone with shidapu when he wakes up... ARGH HIM! for not having normal mornings where you wake up around 6 or 7am...
I believe it didn't die during middle of usage but when the phone was in power save or whatever its called when the screen is black and not phone in use but in operations
I guess JTAG is the only option, but how does that work exactly, if possible please do link
because my computer can't even see the note when I am connected to it with USB. can the battery died? since I don't know if the note can be powered up without battery. *tried connecting without battery but no luck :/
Try to remove the battery for a couple of minutes and then insert it again and connect the wall socket charger and wait up to one hour. The Note has a charging animation but if the battery is totally drained i think it won't show directly.
If you having troubles finding another battery to test with you can always come by Astra in Mölndal and try mine as i see that you are living in Gothenburg.
Jtag is a service in that someone solders small cables to the mainboard and reflashes the bootloader on a low level. But this is only if you know that you have failed a flash or such, don't think this is the case here.
I did send a SGS2 to mobiletechvideos in Texas for that service, and i really do recommend them and thier great service.
Good luck.

if shidapu can't fix it that is (irl mate of Shidapu) he know a bit more than me about Droids
sadly don't have have a extra battery I believe, but I do what you said, I will pull the battery off for now, and when I see the phone next time I will put it in and wait a hour. if all above fail, I might P.M. you that i might be visiting you =)
edit, connected to a wall socket, does it make any differs if I use my HTC wall socket charger?
umm..mind if i say something....?
well u can use any charger since u need to give charge to the battery.. but recommended is charger for note.
Next i had a problem with my battery as well. try to put the phone on charging (there ain't any charging light on this phone ) but you'll see an animation of battery. if it shows up don't worry your phones safe but not the battery but if it doesn't then i think there's some problem with the bootloader or the kernal ...
Hiya guys, after having the Note on charger for like who knows 7 hours or so...
I actually could boot it! YAY! got into the droid as usual.
But there is one wrong thing... it says 25% battery left. orange...
now it says 26% =)
Well I guess I have to reset the state of the battery? (battery-memory wipe or whatever its called?) if thats possible, if so is just simple CWM? (does Note even use CWM?, I am a HTC user and it wasnt me who rooted that device as I mentioned earlier so I dunno what recovery software there is for samsung)
Well Anyways, might be just some faulty battery. guess I have to order a new one if it does it again.
maybe u should take the battery off the phone for a while and try to charge it without booting the device . maybe then it will work fine. just do it three or four times whenever you charge your battery. this way the battery will charge efficiently without it's use on the phone... i hope you got it since i am not able to type well today as i am right now a lil bit anxious about my notes problem

I believe i mentioned it started working. Charging it after removed battery for a hour or so fixed it. took a long time tho, 7 hours for 25% full battery. (26% short after, well samsung are known for their extreme long battery load times... galaxy tab 10.1... that was a device that took over 2 hours to charge...)
It might need a new battery.
The same thing happened to my Note yesterday. It was last charged on Saturday and, with light use, after three days it still had around 50% battery charge remaining when I went to bed on Tuesday night. Yesterday (Wednesday) morning I tried to wake the Note and it was completely dead. Of course I did not expect a flat battery, given the usual discharge performance of my Note. I removed and replaced the battery and hit various buttons and absolutely zip. I connected the charger and again no response. Nothing lit, no beep, nothing.
It's probably worth mentioning that I'm on the latest stock Samsung ROM and unrooted. I really thought it was FUBAR and would need to be sent off for repair. Anyway, I do have a jig so I plugged that in and the screen woke up, so I knew there was some sign of life. But still it would not boot.
Anyway, to cut the story short the battery was as dead as a dodo. I don't know why. It should not have been. I left it on charge from the AC charger and after a short while (a minute or two maybe) the charging symbol appeared with a hazard triangle upon it. It took over 4 hours to finally make it to a fully swollen 100%. The phone is almost exactly six months old and this is the first real scare I've had with it.
I only bore you with the tale because it might give hope to people who think their phone is bricked when the fact is that nothing worse has happened than the battery has gone (unexpectedly) very flat. Right now, 27 hours after I finished fully charging it the battery is down to 92%. That's the sort of performance I am used to. I will leave it without further charge for another few days to see if a similar thing happens again. Hopefully not.
yes i know u said that it started working. What i am saying is that whenever u want ur phone to charge switch it off and then charge(this way it will charge efficiently) . just follow it 3-4 time when u charge it and your battery will be on the right track(i hope that works). my note takes upto 1.3 hour (nearly) to charge completely from 10%. and when it's switched off it does the same in 45 minutes... what a difference!!!
try it and if it works for u then this way would be a best alternative to replace battery for charging issue (of course if ur device is still under warranty you should opt for a replacement).
Hi
I'm new and this is my first thread.
After I rooted my phone I have an issue with charging my battery.
When I started the phone after the root I had a 100% battery, after I was playing and using it I plugged it in when I was going sleep.
After the whole night my phone charged from around 12% to only 60%, and then after I was using and draining the battery nearly to minimum(around 5-7%) it and left it for a couple o hours and it charged to 59%. Sometimes it charges a bit more but the whole process is really slow comparing it to the stock rom charging(it was taking lik 3-5 hours from 0-100%).
I rooted my phone with ivendor's rom from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825260
I was using CWM 6.0.1.2.
I would like to ask for any solutions for my problem, for now I want to drain it to 0 and then leave it again charging for a couple of hour maybe a whole night.
It's a bug. Sometimes is occures and sometimes not.
You could flash castagnaIT kernel and try again.
Just installed the kernel.
1st thing I noticed is a performance increase.
I'll gonna post what's the situation of battery tomorrow.
Ok, After a whole night of charging my phone only got to 68%, then when I was charging it when it was turned off It charged to 85% and when I turned it on it stopped to charge even with the AC plugged in and the icon is showing that it's charging.
Any solutions ? Please help.

I get a similar issue. When on stock I was always getting 100 %. Then I flashed CM9 and I randomly get 100 % after all night recharge.
If you are not afraid of switching ROMs, try a different one and let us know if it solved the problem because as mrjraider said

Ok.
I was charging it turned off. It charged to 100%. I'll gonna test it today one more time with charging it when the phone is switched on.
If it fails I'll gonna get back to my stock rom and test it and try again with a battery charge to 100%.
Also remember that the phone wont charge completly due to safety of your battery..
Most of the time it recharged to 98 percent

Yes I know but the indicator in the phone 'has that in mind' so it shows 100% but its really 98 i know. When I was analyzing that battery graph I saw that the battery is charging really long. If I'm reading it right it takes the same amount of time to charge it as to drain it when using it.
Screen is attached. I was charging it through the wall charger.
It's polish language
Any opinions ?

I think that the solution was USB debugging. When I turned it off the phone is normally charging full and works perfectly.

Ahh.... just turn it off. Charge it fully( 3hrs at max). Got to recovery and wipe battery stats. Then drain it completely, and then recharge it fully.again. Then it will most probably go till 100%

Hi everyone,
Since few days my Xperia Z battery is behaving crazily. It goes up and down. Sometimes when I disconnect the charger, like say at 60 percent, it suddenly goes up or goes down and when I again reconnect the charger it again goes back to 60 percent. Sometimes it doesn't charge only. Sometimes it starts charging, then all of a sudden it stops charging then starts by itself. :/
What's wrong with my device, I don't know. Need help.

Maybe you should try to charge it fully while it's off? Might not do anything but it might help You might just have a damaged/faulty battery.

Well, sometimes batteries just give out and start acting weird. How long have you had the phone? Sometimes as your battery ages, it just starts doing weird thing's. Wouldn't be a problem if we could change the battery

Give out within 7 months? Yeah, wouldn't have been a problem if we could change batteries. But that's the sad part of the story.
I am thinking of switching to Note 3 now. Charges fast, has a bigger battery, stays long. That's exactly what I need.
faster charging kills battery faster
Hi There, this may sound stupid but have you checked the lead/charger, is it an aftermarket one? I have also had similar probs but it was the conections. also try a system wipe and a full charge. and wait for the phone battery to fully flatten then repeat. always charge past 100 percent if you have installed a fresh rom or done a system wipe.

This is true, however sometimes the battery can indicate it is fully charged when it isn't, ( battery stats can be wrong ). I always leave my phone on charge when I sleep and have never had any probs my xperia t is now about 18 months old.
Thanks everyone. I guess I have somehow damaged the battery way too early. I used to use it while charging also. May be the reason of it's present Behaviour.
Right now I am not letting the battery go below 50% and have found out that it stays good, charges, no hiccups
But as soon as the battery goes below fifty it starts behaving too badly, takes time to start charging.

I'm so paranoid about using my phone while it's charging I avoid it as much as possible.
Since you've only had it for 7 month's or so, you should still have the manufactures warranty. You should send it in for service. I had a problem with my old ZL last year, and I ended up getting a new phone.
Hey guys I am new to this forum.
My S3 mini been running stock android 4.1.2 for over a year now with no issues. Yesterday the phone just reboots by itself and the battery went from 60% to 14% in a second. Then the phone got stuck in a reboot loop, I had to take out the battery to make it stop rebooting every second. I tried charging the phone all night, for 8 hours, got 10 minutes of usage out of it before it started rebooting again and the battery inexplicably jumped from 90% to 14% ! The phone is only usable when plugged to the AC, basically not a mobile phone anymore.
Did a factory reset, Thought it might help, it didn't. The phone works fine when plugged to the AC, it only starts rebooting a few minutes after I unplug it.
Help please, should I get a new battery?

I did the back cover removal procedure and disconnected and reconnected the battery connector to see if it fixes the problem.
I then started tne device and draimed the battery to 0%. I then connected charger and charged the tab for over 5 hours. Just now i saw that it showed 100% charged.
I removed the charger and switched the tab on and it says 1% battery...WTFFFFF???
I connected charger again and now it says 9% left.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?? CAN SOMEONE PLS HELP ME?
Its probably not reading the battery correctly. Have you tried recalibrating and drain and chargeing it for like a couple times?

Im guessing your rooted. Well go into the play store and search for battery recalibrate. Pick one and install. Then follow what it siads to do and it should clear your battery stats. Now about the charging, i had a phone that didnt go above 50percent charge. So what I did is let it drain completely till it cannot turn on with the power button. Now just use a different charger or somesort and let it charge fully and dont turn it on till its at 100 percent. Then try and turn it on without the charger and see if it reads correctly.

Then your best chance is to rewert it to stock and hope that they wont check knox count in warranty repairs.
I'm guessing you have a micro sd inserted.
Check your battery stats. See if "media server" or "indexservice" is in a high percentage. Turn it off. Tha saps the battery more faster than Sylvester says "suffering sukatash!"
Heavy usage results into 4 hours batt average
If all else fails looks like you have a faulty battery
HI... How things athithi going on? Can't you replace by your self the battery? Someone knows where to buy an OEM battery?
My 8.4 battery is doing really weird things.
It'll be at say 34% and then plummet to 5% and shutdown.
So i plug it in, and the battery meter icon will pop up saying theres 25% battery available!.
I turn on the tablet and use it normally again. Very odd/
i had this issue once , the battery went crazy , auto reboot after a few minutes, then i went to customer service and they said that this issue was common :v They fixed the battery connector and it was normal again :v
Download battery monitor, this is probably the most comprehensive battery app available. It will tell you if your battery is actually charging and not just the phone detecting the charger being plugged in. It measures mah, if this doesn't change then the battery isn't charging
