i read alot on kernels before posting this but im sorry if i missed some posts that really answer my questions.
- do i need to delete all the modules in a ROM if i want to install kernel..?
-i read that some people cannot connect their usb after installing certain kernels and they are required to flash vold. what i wanna know is the latest kernels now had already has vold pre-installed or i have to find it myself..? coz i look at the kernel's thread and i dont see any vold.zip file (except alfs kernel)

I do not know if they are ok, I have yet to test them, which will be done tonight, I just have to understand, I can use the kernel from cyanmobile (I do not speak of permits) on this rom? Or should I modify it?
if that rom is based on cm then I think you can use the kernel from cyanmobile

Is that the one? can someone tell me because I dont want to have to reinstall the rom if i flash the wrong kernel (dont wanna make backup, coz im doing caliberation)
Hi.
I found this awesome, oldschool htc sense, rom that i want to flash. I only have one question, what kernel should i use it with?
The answer is easy: because the rom is older than the first custom kernel, you need to use stock kernel.
Theoretically it can be work with alfs/linuxdx too, but need some work (like the alfs addon for froyopro)

I tried the stock kernel and that gives me a bootloop.. Could you please link to the things you're talking about?

BUMP!
Is this the addon you're talking about? "x8FroyoPro-Alfsv8+AllFixv3.zip"
And, will this "X8_09c-Cm7_Alfs&Djnilse.rar" work with Hackdroid Floyo?
The question probably doesn't belong here but unfortunately I couldn't find what I wanted to know elsewhere. I've seen that there is a CM port kernel in the kernel list but what does a CM port kernel actually do? Can you install Cyanogenmod ROM with it? Sorry for the basic question but it would very nice if somebody could help me out here!
The kernal fixes some problems in the Roms is what I read? I'm not sure if you can install it with or without it.
You can use the kernel, if you have installed the T700 cm-11.0 build from eousphoros:

Thanks guys!
So I need to flash the ROM first and then the Kernel?
Yes. You will also need to root again the rom isn't rooted.

Hello... Check development and original development forum for kernel threads. You can flash most of them I guess over any ROM unless specified by the OP.
Some also provide different kernels for different Android versions.
Ex: 6.x, 7.x, 7.1.x
Read the first posts of these threads or use the search function and simply download the proper version for your ROM/Android version.
Some offer some extra features, but overall you can tweak most of them as you want with a kernel manager app: kernel adiutor, Ex kernel manager, etc...
Good luck...
