Hilarious find!
If only "other" companies would take criticism so well and actually listen to the consumer of their products their experiences, life would be better (and so would traveling).
i liked the "it's your hamster richard!"

chap who wrote this was on BBC Radio 4, & it turns out he's a pro complainer, & has literally sent 1000s of complaining letters over the years. He looks at it as a hobby & he was rather amusing to listen to. One way he had of making sure the president of a company would receive his mail & not get binned by a secretary, was to put the complaint in a perfume splashed pink envelope with love heart stickers on it & of course, handwritten with a kind of lovey dovey feel. Says it always works & the head person of the company nearly always politely replies !

Long time downloader, first time poster, I hope nobody minds me diving in with a sizable request.
My girlfriends dad, Keith, has made it to the final five contestants on Virgin Atlantic's Sir Richard Branson Lookalike Competition, and I'd like for you all to have the chance to place your vote.
We've started falling behind on the votes and after all the effort we've put in (radio coverage, papers, etc) we'd be gutted if he didn't win, as the prize is a trip to New York, attending the Virgin 25 Year Anniversary dinner, and Keith has promised to give up smoking, too.
While this competition is taking place on Facebook, I implore those without accounts to sign up and participate. Details on how to vote can be found on this handy page:
http://www.shiftrunstop.com/skels/bransonalike/
While you can obviously vote for anyone you like, we hope you'll see the resemblance as much as we do, and vote for Keith.
If you do place your vote for Keith, please say so below and I'll be sure to get Keith to thank you personally on Facebook. If you can spread the word a little, that would also be fantastic.
Also, if anyone has an look-a-likes in their family, feel free to post them so we can have our own little vote for the best one.
I just saw the movie "12 and Holding" the other day. It is directed by Michael Cuesta, an American film & tv director. It is doubtless one of the best movies I have ever seen and provides great insight into the lives of 3 adolescents who have been devastated by the murder of a good friend and brother to one.
After the murder of his twin brother, Rudy, by two vengeful bullies, Jacob Carges & his two best friends Maylee Chuang & Leonard Fisher each must learn to deal with Rudy's death. Maylee develops a crush on one of her psychiatrist mother's patients. Leonard, an overweight boy, decides to lose weight to the disdain of his obese mother. And Jacob must learn to cope with his now-fighting parents & his own desire for revenge.
The movie has a shocking ending that I won't describe here as I don't want to spoil it.
Here are the link to it on IMDb & Wikipedia
It is available on iTunes and I would HUGELY recommend it to anyone. The movie is incredibly touching & Michael Cuesta did an amazing job, especially with it being only his 2nd production.
I've attached both the movie poster & the DVD cover as well.
Sector 9... nice idea...
since every sponsors is dropping him, Tiger got my support!
i would do the same if i'm Tiger, when you have all the money in the world, what' the point of living if u dont enjoy life the fullest!
Call me old fashioned, but I believe that when you are with somebody, especially married to somebody, you are to remain faithful.
Although, I don't really see why sponsors are dropping Tiger now, he's more popular now, then ever.

I believe this is often referred to as "commitment" ... which IMHO ranks right up there with "honour", "respect", and "ethics". Although I have no issues with living life the fullest, some actions such as adultery do have consequences which sponsors must keep in mind.
At the time I read this thread, I felt that it simply served to instigate a "flamewar" session amongst fellow XDA members or to encourage comments that could be construed as a personal attack on Tiger Woods behaviour as depicted by the media - and as such closed it. Additionally, I felt the thread communicated a negative message to younger - more impressionable - readers.
As a result of closing the thread however, a fellow XDA member felt that I was being too harsh and that to some degree, my actions communicated an undesireable form of censoring.
As such, I have taken the matter up with Flar. In the interest of not communicating a form of censoring, I have chosen to re-open this thread for others to comment with the caveat that it not deteriorate into a personal attack on Tiger Woods or fellow XDA members.

that and for my lil' buddy up here to stop repeating himself...

March/April Topic: Cityscapes
POTM will be suspended until we finally decide how to get more people to participate.
We are starting a Photo of the Month Challenge here in the Photography thread. You are given the theme, and you are free to interpret it the way you want, as long as all required points are taken into account. The topic and dates will be listed below this text. The photos will be hosted on my website (http://jaszekphoto.com/xda-photo-challenge/ [for now it's just a test site, but you can see the layout]) and we will have a vote from the website itself. The results will be posted here and updated at least once a day. We're still deciding how long the voting will go for. The winner of a given month will be posted here and will get an honorary nothing here on XDA. Maybe some day we will have prizes and stuff.
VOTE FOR THIS THREAD TO BE ON XDA PORTAL SO WE GET MORE PARTICIPANTS.
To enter:
Send an e-mail to [email protected] with the title and your XDA nick in the subject like.
Wait for me to update the website with your photo.
At the end of the month I will open the poll for people to vote on the photos for the given month.
Any questions PM either me, tinky1, dexter93 or the email posted above.
RULES:
Send the original photo file. Not one downloaded from Facebook, or linked to a different hosting site. Many of them remove the EXIF, and decrease the resolution.
Remember to satisfy all of the requirements of the theme for the given month.
1 photo per month with only 1 change allowed.
The photo has to be take in that month.
Photos with stripped/manipulated EXIF data will be rejected. (Film people you can send them in)
Think about the kids
Have fun, and move your ass outside to compete.
Photo manipulation accepted as long as it's not too much.
Photos on the website will be posted without your nick, as to not make this a popularity contest.
No logos/copyright symbols.
Voting will start at the 1st of the next month.
When voting, ignore physical limitations of gear, like low resolution images, chromatic aberration etc.
Try not to vote for your own submission.
Have fun.
I guess since this is the first topic, I can post it. This will be for November, and it will be a beta test, but the winner will still receive nothing, just like the winners in the next months.
TOPIC:
Motion

February 1st to February 28th.
PAST WINNERS

Photography is the art, science and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film, or electronically by means of an image sensor.[1] Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure. The result in an electronic image sensor is an electrical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in a digital image file for subsequent display or processing.

So as none of you know, I'm a photographer, and lately I've been into time lapses. If you don't know what it is, it's a bunch of photos taken over a period of time (lets say 2 hours) the put together as a really fast slideshow, for example with each frame showing in .1 of a second, which gives you animations. In this thread, I shall post these time lapses, did one yesterday, and doing one today, just finishing up.
To tell you the truth, I just want more YT views, but you enjoying it is a plus, and make sure you watch it full screen in 1080p
I love time lapses! It's just amazing to watch a full day go by within minutes from photographs. I wish I had the patience to do time lapses but unfortunately for me, I do not have the time. Anyway, I can't wait to see more
This one if from today. I'll try to make a whole day one through my window on friday, starting at 12am, and ending at 11:59PM.
Have fun doing the whole day one! I should probably get out and start shooting again. :/
Anyway, I like the fact that they just go from clear blue skies to a dark blue night

Twilight hour is the best time for shooting...at least for me. (http://flic.kr/p/9ztJh1)
I wonder how my parents will take it. The window overlooking the street is where they sleep. lol.
Now that I think about it, the view sucks from my window :/. Guess I'll have to wait till I'm in Poland, the view is a bit more pleasant, and at night we will see the stars
Twilight's always nice and I like that picture especialy. I usually like going out at night more but I don't bring my DSLR with me when I'm out and downtown but I'm way too paranoid of someone running into me and yanking it away... it's quite nice downtown since there's a harbour front and lake shore. Get the stars! I haven't seen any stars since like 10+ years ago. Haha, the view from my window... is to my backyard, nothing interesting going on there!
I'm sure you can get some good Sunrise/sunset images from your backyard, depending on wether you get a view of east or west. Living in NYC means I barely get to see stars, and if you had me on facebook, you would see how excited I got about seeing stars in the time lapse. lol. When you search my flickr, you will find some startrails I took 2 years ago in Poland. But that was with the XSi, now that I have a 7D, I'm sure I'll get better results
Very nice man.
Check out this guys work to see what to aspire to...

Haha, yeah the sunrises from my backyard definitely look nice. I don't see stars in Toronto either, it's mostly like just those dark nights with nothing except building lights and trees in the way. I have a cherry tree in my backyard so it's hard to get a picture especially if I'm on the second floor. I haven't seen stars since I was in 7th grade. I'll check out your flickr in a bit

That's what I hate about living in the city. We barely see stars due to the light pollution. Which is why I can't wait to go to Poland. I know of one spot where I can sleep in a tent and have it shooting the whole night.
Haha I find time lapse vids interesting. You got some nice ones up there!

Thanks. I'm actually sitting on top of a roof now doing another one...I think I have a problem. lol
^ It's okay, it's not a problem... I had an origami problem a few months ago. I couldn't get out of it until I ran out of paper. I had a drive home from work just a few moments ago and the sunset was amazing! It was a full bright orange circle I was like OPPORTUNITY MISSED. I looked out my window a few minutes later, it's like NO SUNSET. I'd stay up and take pictures of a sunrise if I could see it through my room but maybe I'll wait for a beach trip.

I'm thinking you would get some awesome shots in New Found Land, maybe even get the Aurora Borealis
Yeah, I was watching an Aurora Borealis time lapse video earlier in the day, it was so pretty but until I'm done with school and saved up, all my trips will have to wait, sigh, a few more years to go and all done. How's the current time lapse?

I just came back home, about to import the photos into iMovie and see what comes out. I'm thinking it'll come out pretty good, finished at about 9:25, started at about 7:25. GOt the sunset, and twilight.
New one from today
Yay for another video. I like all of them, there isn't one that I don't like. I'm more of a city girl than anything I just adore buildings and streetlights. thanks for the new video. Sunset and twilight are always really pretty. How many times lapses are you planning on making?
