What does everyone use for:
a. Video Format and Size?
b. Software to Convert?
c. Media Player on their Kaiser to play their videos?
I am trying to determine what the all around most efficient video format and player is. Also looking for a great video converter that is efficient and preferably free.
avi-DivX
SUPER converter\pocket divx encoder
TCPMP!!!!! With Raw or DirectDraw drivers, works great for me!
i am currently using Magic DVD ripper which converts my movies/tv shows into avi's suitable for pda. File size is pretty big but it's pretty much perfect quality and great sound. oh and play them in TCPMP of course. I think my transformers movie is about 1.7gig

shorten it for example...
What you mean?
By cut a mp4 file i can understand this:
I had a video file in mp4 Format and I dont want the first 5 minutes so... I took the SPB dvd converter select the video and determine begin and of of the whole video...
Or i can understand that my MP4 video file is too heavy so i decide to make it lightweight so... i can suggest convert it to avi... mmm or reduce the Mbps or the sound quality with the DVD Catalyst... Or SPB dvd converter.
I dislike mp4 so i always use avi.
its the dont want 5mins
is there a freeware to do this?
i use portable xilisoft video cutter and this is not bad
it's free
where is the official site ? i cant find thks
is not free
http://www.xilisoft.com/video-cutter.html
but it's a portable, and u dont have to instal this software
i dont know whether it's categorized as warez or not, if yes...let the mods delete this post
lemme go home
rar pack mine and sent it to you... maybe it works for you man!
is there a freeware one?
Yep virtualdub
Bit more bout it
Hi all...
I also recommend use "Xilisoft Cutter" that useful to cut any file video file...
And Universal Video Cutter one of the nice option....
The easiest way to cut MP4 files
Why dont you simply download some Video Cutter from web. Few i can suggest you is Faasoft Video Cutter. Using this tool you can cut your MP4 files in minutes.
It also supports cutting almost all kinds of video files like AVI, WMV, MOV, MKV, ASF, FLV, MXF, OGV, 3GP, AVCHD, MTS, etc.

Hello
Soon i am going on vacation and want to get some movies to have them while travelling etc... Where do you guys get movies for your mobile from, or should i rip them (prefer to download the right resolution ofc )
Is there some site with torrents or anything alike around?
I know mobilism has a movie gallery but most of them are uploaded on uploading sites which are far worse than torrent files...
Hope this post is not against the rules
tnx for the help
rip them off your own DVD collection
The only resolutions I have tried are 720p and 1080p. Both have worked fine.
Also the only container type I have attempted is mp4 with AAC audio and H.264 video. It worked fine.
y but cba to rip all the movies its easyer if some collection is online already
it seems ill just need to rip them, tnx anyways
I am thinking of getting this phone. I would like to know if it can play high bitrate MKV/MP4/TP/TS video files (like music videos of 1GB size). Anyone tried this yet?
I would also like to know if it can handle 10bit videos as well though I think this will be based on the app/player....
Thanks!
4sashi got loads of HQ music videos which you can try
Video quality in this phone is satisfactory. I'm playing some 1080 HD videos/movies with MX player and Movies app with no problems so far... Out of topic..can you give me a site which has HD quality pictures?
Sorry i dont have a site for that. Would you mind if you download something from the bluray mvs from 4sashi and try it out in sp?
cmon guys
need your help on this
The 1080p videos recorded by the SP are of 20mbps bitrate (much higher than most movies/tv episodes) and they play back just fine
I watched some game of thrones 1080p episodes, 2.2gb in size each and they played fine

You can play videos with 40mbps bitrate,
but 1080p 60fps videos are freezing and bouncing on stock player
i am really interested to know if it can handle music videos (1 gigabytes in file size)....
I have a couple of TS and TP files with file sizes of 1-2 gigabytes and based on media info, they have an average of 36000kbps bit rate. (note they are only music videos of around 3-5 minutes in length)
i am just too lazy to convert my video files thats why i am asking this.
even my e8400 is suffering from frame skips when trying to play them :cyclops:
anyways im off to check this phone for myself hehe

I played some 1920 x 1080 videos and it worked fine.
However, my phone can't handle the video with 1080p 60fps.The Audio skips and the video is quite laggy ..
The only phone i know that can play heavy 4k videos so far is the Z1
ok so i went ahead got this phone
it just cant play some of my videos hehehe
i used mxplayer by the way
oh well just need to convert them again...
thanks guys
still i am quite satisfied with this phone
now i need to root my phone..... and some other stuff
Plays 1080p
I have Xperia SP,I've tested a couple 1080p videos that I downloaded,ran them pretty well;no problems
---------- Post added at 07:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:04 AM ----------
I've had a Galaxy mini 2 and I rooted and unrooted it,but My new SP;don't think that I'm gonna root it
After a year using this phone...
1-Support 720p & 1080p up to 40Mbps bitrate(BluRay.ts using MX player with custom codec)
2-Support 720p at 60fps without lagging both on MX player or Stock player (Bravia might not working,Work only on first 10 second)
I watched anime a lot and it usually came with H10P encoding , please kindly let me know if xperia Z1 can play the video smoothly? Thanks

You should give us link to try.
I found something on YouTube and if you meant on something like this YOUTUBE LINK then YES it can and it's very smooth.
If you have link for short movie to download, send me PM and I will try for you.

Stock Player can't
What he is asking for is if the Z1 can play Hi10p encoding. This is the latest encoding using 10bits instead of the normal 8bits (you can google for the rest of the features). You can go to doki.co or bakabt.me (BBT usually has larger files since it's full series, but if you're afraid of getting called the P word, everything in BBT is unlicensed in the states) and get one of the episodes there. The episode name will have 10bit or Hi10P or H10P in the name.
I don't watch movies on my device, but I have a few downloaded and waiting to be transferred off. I tried and the stock player and ES media player can't play these videos. I'm not sure if there are any 10bit player in the play store either.
I'm sure Z1 can handle that video but the question is do we have software and codex for that.
I really don't know that - so sorry - can't help here.

Also watch a crapton of anime, Z1 plays 720p Hi10p videos fine using MX Player.
Struggles with 1080p Hi10p, but the file I tested had a very high bitrate and it was streamed from my PC.
Only works with software mode though, so battery takes a bit of a hit.
