So after doing the usual searches, I can't find a solid answer to this issue:
I have recently had both CM7 and Mosaic 8 on my phone. I noticed that with CM7, it gave me a very noticeable haptic feedback experience. On Mosaic, the haptic feedback is noticeably weaker.
"No problem", I thought, and headed to settings to increase the haptic feedback level. It was set at the maximum, though. The bizarre thing is that I moved the slider around and the feedback I got on the maximum level is higher than what I'm getting from hitting the capacitive buttons.
I found this thread, which asked a similar question, but it's been dead for a long time and never received resolution.
I also found another thread about fixing the home haptic (here), but that one deals specifically with restoring the home haptic feedback inside of android.policy.jar.
So I'll ask the question - is there anyone who has figured out a way to truly ramp up the haptic feedback levels, and if so, is it something that the average, non-programming familiar user could accomplish?
Thanks.
I know this but exists in Illuminance as well, I think it's a GB ROM issue. I don't think they actually use the intensity setting, since the feedback while setting the intensity slider never has anything to do with the actual intensity when using the phone. Maybe someone else has something more technical to say about it, but you're definitely not crazy, I have had the same results.

Coming from HTC Desire Hd I find the vibration quite weak and I've missed quite a few calls and as for sms it is so short I almost never feel it. Any similar experiences? Is there any possibility my unit is defected?
this is also my biggest problem with the note. hopefully with a case, some thickness will be achieved and I will feel the vibrations.
I come from a HTC Touch Pro (Windows Mobile) and the vibration is really a lot weaker then the vibrate from my Touch Pro and also a lot shorter for most of the alarms.
As i believe the vibration intensity can not be changed as this is hardware. Maybe we can make the vibration longer somehow?
Best would be to set the vibration length etc. for every single alarm event?
I miss so many settings from my windows mobile device in android.

yes. thanks but i already found that setting and everything is on the highest setting for me but it is still a lot weaker then Touch Pro.
But i think i can live with this.
Also it seems the Google Mail App (not the normal E-Mail App ) does not support vibration at all?
I recently flashed ElementalX 5.2 to my One, and ever since I flashed it, I could swear that the vibration has been weaker. Whenever I'm pressing the capacitive buttons, typing on the keyboard, or really doing anything, the vibration feedback seems a lot weaker than before. Is there a way to get it back to default, or generally increase it? Thanks in advance!

Download faux123 from the play store. You can change the vibration intensity. I personally hate the vibrate motor on this phone, its waaaay too loud for me.

No, you dont need to be running his kernel to use it.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for! Also, I see what you mean. Sometimes, when I'm in class, and I get a text, even with the sound off, it feels awkward because just the vibration alone is so loud. But frankly, having the vibration this low annoyed me a lot more than that, so I'll deal with it. Thanks again.

No problem. Actually, the Google edition rom has the perfect vibration intensity. Its strong enough to feel, but not too loud. HTC should really use that.
Hi, ive done an extensive search on here and via google but cant find the solution to my query. hopefully someone can help:
My Z1 sounds rough now and again when the vibrate motor is on. Im looking to reduce the intensity of the 3 onscreen android buttons. i know i can turn it off all together but i think reducing it would help. ive search to see if i can locate the "code" that defines this but ive had no luck. can someone help?

I have the exact same problem but thought it was just me!
I've noticed its occurs more with lower intensity vibrations more (if I change the intensity slider for the keyboard it sounds rough more often on lower vibrations). So maybe lowering it might not be the answer and we might have to do the opposite?
I got the Nexus 6 after coming off a few generations of Galaxy phones (S4 and Note 3), and I'm currently using the Tab S. I love the haptic feedback on them, as it's not overbearing but it definitely lets me know I'm hitting the keys. So far, the feedback on the Nexus 6 has been a bit overwhelming. The vibration is almost loud enough to sound like a real keyboard, and it shakes the whole device instead of feeling like a gentle reminder that you're hitting keys. I use Swiftkey, so I know I can alter the vibration duration, but nothing I've found there has been right. It's either way, way too much, or too soft to matter. Is there a way to change the intensity to match something like the Tab or the Note, instead of what it's set to?
Hi
I have noticed that the haptic feedback is extremely weak, to the point where I started to miss my calls.
There isn't any setting that increases the intensity.
Is there some magisk module or something that fixes this issue?
Have you come across this problem?
Thanks.
P.S. I'm on ArrowsOS 12.1 vanilla.
Yes really weak. there is a setting but even when put on max its very weak

Can you tell me the name of the setting?
Sound and vibration - haptic feedback level

Haptic feedback isn't the same as incoming call vibration. Which you want to change?

I think it's not available in case of already maximum ( limited by hardware)

If the strength is already at max level, then its pathetic! I would take strong haptics over 120 hz screen any day of the week.

Maybe get rid of ur Rom when its this limited everywhere?! Derpfest has so many settings, options, and and and that i didnt had the time to study everything it offers. Simple too much...
I guess the haptics are modifiable and strong in derpfest?
Yes and yes.
Hi All,
I am also having this issue with weak haptic feedback.
in the sounds and vibration settings level for haptic feedback is full(highest level) but pressing the back button / taking screenshot / keep pressing volume button + to the max to engage the feedback / pressing the onscreen home button to engage haptic / etc all feels weak like level it is stuck a level one.
I turned off the haptic feedback option in settings / restart my phone still the same
NOW, BUT, i am using a MS Swiftkey keyboard. When i went to the settings of the Swiftkey keyboard and set the option to use it's own settings for the haptic feedback - set it at low to med settings for the haptic feedback feels strong (or the one im used too.)
im using Poco F2 Pro with MIUI 14.0.1.0 Global Stable (SJKMIXM) with Android 12 SKQ1.211006.001
i tried also the factory test (where you input those magic code - im using hidden settings app) to test the vibration (hardware) on my phone and works fine.
to sum up:
- the "android" haptic feedback that is located in settings > sounds and vibration is not working (feels like it is stuck at level 1 even though it is on highest level)
- MS Swiftkey Keyboard haptic feedback works fine and have no issue typing with haptic on feels strong
- factory test the vibrator (using magic hidden settings app) vibrator works fine feels strong.
???ANY IDEA HOW TO FIX W/O DOING FACTORY RESET???
???COULD THIS BE THE THEMES I APPLIED USING THE XIAOMI THEME APP???(MIGHT BE POSSIBLE MIGHT NOT BE THE ROOT CAUSE AS THERE ARE THEMES NOT COMPATIBLE ANYMORE WITH MIUI 14.)
attached screenshot - 1.jpg is the haptic for Android - not working / feels weak / looks like stuck at level 1
attached screenshot - 2.jpg is the MS Swiftkey haptic feedback settings and works fine on the keyboard typing / feels strong
You are right. swiftkey vibration is stronger so the real vibration isn't so weak.
I think that it is kernel problem and we are unable to change vibration density with stock kernel with app's like kernel auditor and i didn't find any magisk module for that.
Also i don't know if changing kernel will be a problem with my touchscreen drivers
my phone is giving weak haptics since the previous miui version. however the strength seems to change time to time automatically. maybe its a weird miui implementation to slow down wear and tear of the vibration actuator.
