[Q] How can i get brighter screen in stock rom? - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way how to make it brighter?
well most of gingerbread and froyobread roms has extra brightness!
so how can i set it for stock rom?

Do you mean brighter by putting more backlight to it, or make it more going to a white screen?
(So, do you mean by light or by colours?)

By light! i need it brighter...cant use it as flashlight in night when i need it...coz the screen is not bright enough

light sensor problem

i have a problem with light sensor. sipmply is not working.. when i turn it on the screen goes to lowest settings.
I installed the "water level" program an i see that there is always at 926 lumens. any idea whats wrong?
i try hard reset but the problem persists.
What I did for it to actually start working was I put the "On battery power" all the way to power save, and then selected "auto adjust backlight.
I might look stupid here, but my screen goes dimmer in a pitch black room, and brighter when there is a lot of light. Is this how it works?

That's right - if the environment is darker you don't need that much backlight for the screen to be readable. The more light is shining at the display the brighter it has to be in order for you to see anything. It's really more of a power saving feature...
for the record:
i return my device as DOA and now i got a new one that is working fine .

[Q] Two modes camera flash

Here's my question, is there a way, to make the camera flash to use the normal light, and not the bright, when taking a picture, but in the same time, if a select it, to use the bright. It'll be usefull, because the bright flash makes things blurry or too bright when shooting from a close distance. If a want to take a picture of a business card (for OCR) I have to use separate light source, because the flash is too bright and makes it unreadable, and the normal flash is enaugh for the purpouse.
I too was interested in this idea about a month back. It would be very useful to take the photo with the standard flash light rather than the super bright flash. As it is this level that you focus the photo and expect it to be at, only to sadly recieve a horribly over flashed photo.
agreed...^^
What would really be awesome with the camera would be the ability to disable the light sensor. That way, in low light the FPS doesnt go to crap leaving us with blurry pictures. Also, the flash doing what a real flash does, being flash instead of stay on...
As for the normal light and not bright, hTorch has a toggle to go between both, we just need to see if there is a reg key or something to just enable the light without it going to bright mode for the actual shot.
There are a few other threads that talk about the camera reg settings, i just forget where.

[Q] [REQ]Nexus One Back Led Brightness

Hi it seems to be a common problem for the led flash of HTC devices, I searched around but I couldn't find a solution for stock android roms. The problem is that the led is so bright that I cannot use the camera without blinding everyone and making them close their eyes. Is there a way to reduce the brightness of the LED? I compared the Nexus One with and iPhone 4 and the iPhone's LED isn't as bright when taking pictures, resulting in much better photos. Any ideas?

Brightness Management: What's the best way?

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I tend to think that the auto brightness setting on stock lollipop is WAY too bright, and, while of course it shows off the screen, it wastes battery life.
I can turn on power saving mode to try and dim the screen to some extent. I've also given Lux a try, but it didn't really seem to do much...
Does anyone have an idea for auto brightness which works similarly to how CM12.1 does it on this phone? Where you can set how bright you want it to be, but it still compensates for ambient light?
Thanks!

I like screen filter. It's very simple and you can pick which percentage you want. I've gotten it lower than stock. I'd recommend giving it a try. Couldn't hurt.
Not sure about the ambient light bit, last time I used it was on my note 2. It may be available.
There's a setting for ambient light too.

Max out screen brightness

There are some occasions where my screen just isn't bright enough. I turn off auto and set to max. However, when I expose the light sensor to direct sunlight it brightens further. Is there any way to make the screen that bright all the time?

Hi ,
As far as i can remember ,there's a good reason
Samsung"configured" it that way .(you described)
Think in terms of"screen burn in " (Damage to your screen etc )
Not good for your device.
Good luck
