Increase ur internal memory with --> UNGAZE (script) - Samsung Galaxy Mini

For everyone who has an error with a2sd / s2e / link2sd like :
- when install apps then the phone restarts
- can't download from market which says "Cannot download xxx due to an error"
I suggest u to use UNGAZE script, it is similar to a2sd and others.
the ungaze script will mount the sd-ext as the data partition so it will make ur internal memory bigger. we know that it will make our phone a bit slow but it is better than we use corrupted a2sd and etc then have to reflash the rom and wipe all the data.
From my experience it won't make my mini slower. the respond time to open something only takes 1 second longer than a2sd etc.
REQUIREMENTS :
- an android phone, of course (GALAXY MINI)
- a stock/custom rom which had been rooted and busybox-ed
- a stock/custom rom which free from a2sd,s2e,link2sd etc.
> if you already installed one of them, wipe data and reflash your rom
INSTALLATION :
1. Partitoning the sdcard
- backup all important data (eg. Titanium Backup files)
- go to cwm recovery > advanced > partition sdcard
skip above step if you already partitioned the sdcard
2. Download the Ungaze_v4b5.zip
3. place on sdcard (don't extract it)
4. go to recovery mode
5. mount system,data,cache,sdcard,sd-ext
6. flash the ungaze
7. reboot
- go to settings > storage, and if ur internal memory increase, it means .....
- dont forget to set the default installation of apps to internal , setting > cm setting > application

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
TROUBLESHOOTING :
1. if there is a problem with ungaze like :
- when boot up / reboot the phone, the rom back to default (everything is default) it means the sdcard is not mounted properly by the ungaze.
to check the problem, go to recovery then mount sdcard and sd-ext, if it can't be mounted, yes there is a problem
to solve it :
while in recovery mode
- release the sdcard snd put it back
- try to mount sdcard and sd-ext
if problem exists :
- release the battery
- release the sdcard and mount it on pc using cardreader etc.
- put back sdcard
- reboot to recovery
- try to mount sdcard and sd-ext
- if it is mounted succesfully then reboot your phone
2. WiFi MAC Address always changed (thanks to denzel)
For all that want use ungaze script but mac address change every connection.
Here the solution:
Problem is the absence in this case of this file: .nvmac.info in /data -->
Important file to read after searches, about that file, with root explorer is this: wlan_mac in /system/bin/
Read this file and you can found a good solution. This part:
Code:
Code:
if ! ls /data/.nvmac.info; then
while true; do
case `getprop ril.wifi_macaddr` in
"")
# $SYSLOG "Still waiting for mac property"
sleep 1
;;
*)
break
;;
esac
done
$SYSLOG "Generate mac file" `getprop ril.wifi_macaddr`
echo `getprop ril.wifi_macaddr` > /data/.nvmac.info
fi
For some reason this code with ungaze script (data on sdext cause the problem?) dont work.
So from emulator:
getprop ril.wifi_macaddr > /data/.nvmac.info
Now, to every connection, to every boot, also with ungaze, you will have always the same original wifi mac address.
credit and thanks to ungaze and denzel

[MOD] native swap

hey guys im making this thread cus androidboss dint know how to do this and im mkaing it easier for him(might help others too so )
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DEAD SDCRADS PHONES LAPTOPS DESKTOPS AND ANYTHING ELSE
requirements
-windows computer
-phone with swiftdroid or any rom that supports inti.d boot scripts
-recovery 5.0.2.3
1. backup all sdcard stuff to computer.
2. wipe all data from the sdcard. after that use this to remove all partitions from sdcard( if you do not have any other partitions on sdcard skip to the end bellow the last picture)
http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm
the pics will look may look different cus im using a older version
mine looks like this

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
to remove all the other partitions
when all is done click apply at the top lefthand corner. at the end after it refreshes make sure there is only one partition left . the FAT32 partition.
so now the card has no data put it in the phone and boot into recovery(5.0.2.3). there go to advance>partition sdcard>EXT size 2M(2M if you dont want a ext partition but if you want then the size is up to you )>swap size 256m
power down the phone and put back data into the sdcard. now enjoy swap
well this is my first thread so hope it helps!!
hahaha thank you
every much bs828 !!!
You helped me a lot!!!
Thanks a lot mate.
Edit: will use this on my girls gt540.
These typos was sent from my Nexus S [I9023]
custom rom??
I use this method more than 2 or 3 month, thats nothing new. Mur4ik Swiftdroid roms use this method, automatically find&use SD card's swap partition.
Before that, i made a video for my 2.1 Ultimate rom, how to partition SD card under windows to use swap&ext partition. (I use swapper for swap and joe's autoapp2SD in my ROM) Sometimes it not possible because compatibility problems between win&card readers but newer CWM recoveries able to partition cards.
yeah like i said androidboss did not know how to do this so i made this. others may also find is useful so why not make it public ??

LoL hope it helped
Just tried it, works like a charm
Im quite a newbie in this, how exactly does swap and ext porticions work and what do they do ?
the memory card you are using is in a fat32 format so by partition it to let say a ext3 file type you can store apps on it(if im not wrong the phone's memory is also ext3) swap works as addition external ram used to run apps
Where can I find recovery 5.0.2.3?

http://mikegapinski.androidus.pl/android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-aosp/
I've done everything like the tutorial says, but I had older clockwork recovery 2.5 I guess something like that, and I've done the same thing in recovery selected advance>partition sdcard> EXT3 and selected 2gb then selected 256MB Swap, but when I run the OS and enter free in terminal it says swap 0.
What could have caused the problem?
Thanks in advance!

if there isnt script called 07swapon, the swap wont active. and afaik, mike's ics doesnt have this script. u must add it manually.

A2SDX
A2SDX - DATA TO SD-EXT
(CM9 - CM10 - AOKP)
First of all : Buy a DECENT SD card with decent write speeds. It does not cost much and you wil be happy with the result!
I highly recommend using a class 10 external SD card for this to work optimally
This works perfectly in combination with SWAP in the post below. If you are planning to use SWAP also dont forget to define SWAP space while partitioning your SD!
What the hell is A2SDX and why would i install it?
A2SDX modified for jellybean, will extend your internal storage with the SD-EXT size without lags.
Attached you can find the script, use only in combination with EXT partition on you SD card!
INSTRUCTIONS
Partition your SD via CWM recovery OR via Windows. I recommend doing it via WINDOWS for optimal results!
Do note, its not needed to do this again if you already have a EXT partition. You just can flash the attached zip then.
- VIA CWM RECOVERY:
REMOVE ANY OTHER SCRIPT FOR APPS 2 SD
1. Backup the contents of your SD card
1. Partition EXT3 with the partition option in cwm recovery (beware, this will erase your SD card, save important stuff to your computer and copy it back afterwards).
- For EXT4 use minitool partition wizard on your computer, its free.
- I recommend at least 500mb partition. Swap size is optional, if you want to use the swap script posted below 128mb should be enough.
2. Flash attached zip
3. Boot to android.
4. Reboot twice to let the script settle
5. Return backed up data to your SD card.
- VIA WINDOWS:
REMOVE ANY OTHER SCRIPT FOR APPS 2 SD
1. Back up the contents of your SD card.
2. Download MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition (FREE)
3. Remove external sd card from phone and connect to a pc using an adapter or sd card slot. (!DO NOT DO IT TROUGH YOUR PHONE!)
4. Right click your sd card in mini tools and delete existing partition.
6. Right click again and create a new fat32 primary partition, choose the desired size. (Dont forget you need some size left for the SWAP and/or the A2SDX partition)
7. Click apply.
8. Create a swap partition and/or A2SDX partition in your unallocated space by right clicking and choosing primary linux swap (SWAP) and/or primary EXT4 (A2SDX). A swap partition of 128mb should be enough.
9. Click apply.
10. Return backed up data to your SD card.
11. Flash attached zip
12. Boot to android.
13. Reboot twice to let the script settle
For more info check : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=SD_card_partitioning
Yeah Yeah, I installed it already. How do i know if it works ?
Check your internal storage in android and be surprised.
525MB !!?? OMG!

Do note, this is NOT my work, i just packed it up as flashable zip. All credits go to AMARULLZ, Lennox and all other people that added their contributions to the script.

Well... swap space is a partition that will be created on your SD card on which the users inactive will be moved. This will free up physical ram for the OS and the active applications.
This works in perfect harmony with the A2SDX script.
Cool now give me the link, give me, give me!
Calm down, first you need to make sure you even have a swap partition on your SD card!
Just like the a2sd script you will need to partition your SD card, doing this in CWM recovery will give you the option to choose SWAP space size and SD-EXT apce size.
The script is attached to this post.

Yeah Yeah, I installed it already. How do i know if it works ?
Go to terminal in android (If you dont have it, ionstall it from the market) and type : free
Check the line after SWAP, If there are values there like the picture below then SWAP is enabled and working fine.
If it looks like the picture below (with zeros in the swap line), you do not have swap.

Do note, the script is NOT my work, i just took the correct files together and packed it up as flashable zip. All credits go to all the people that contributed to the script.

It is my opinion sir..I prefer a little display with super fast imput (press a software button is not equal at press hardware buttons)..
If I can give you one advice..
you could implement two options:
- enable\disable nav buttons;
- settings for set dimension of buttons (as cyanmobile...the concept is different..but makes the idea)
Sorry for my english.

[Script]Cronmod Unofficial / Data2sdext *BIG UPDATE*

Hey guys.I rewrote Cronmod script to work with our ace i without gps problem or applications get forced to close.
CronMod Original thread : [SCRIPTS]CronMod-A2SD/D2EXT/INT2EXT (updated 09/19)
What it does :
It moves data/app data/local and data/dalvik-cache to sd-ext.
Data/data is moved in Data2ext version.Other files are still in internal memory.
It binds data to /internal so you can acces to app, dalvik-cache, local and data/data which are in internal memory.
Attention: It does not move the whole data to sd-ext because gps won't work.
In settings you'll see your internal memory instead of sd-ext memory.
Data2Sd-ext (Gps may not work)
Data2sd-ext by AMARULLZ mounts the sd-ext in /data and the internal memory in /sd-ext and creates some links to the folders or files which have to be in internal memory. It's fast and you can see your sd-ext memory space instead of the internal memory space.
The gps may or may not work I recommend testing gps before installing your apps.If it doesn't work do a factory reset and retest if it still doesn't work then change the script.
What you need:
A rom with ini.d support.
How to install:
Before doing anything backup your IMEI with Galaxy Toolbox App in case something happens to /efs partition.
1-Backup your apps/ contacts / data with titanium backup
2- Go to recovery
3-Make a backup in Backup and restore
4-Format /data /sd-ext /system
5-Mount /system
5-Flash your custom rom.
6-Remount /system
7-Flash your desired script.
8-Reboot
Changelog:
12/04/2013
All the scripts are updated.
07/12/2012
More stability with cronmod scripts
Cronmod Data2ext Revised 08/12.
12/11/2012
Added Data2sd-ext by AMARULLZ
29/10/2012
Small corrections in the script.
While installing, the script deletes automatically 03mountsd 11link2sd remount_fullext4 and ext4_lagfix.If you installed link2sd and applications are not showing anymore just reinstall this update.
10/26/2012
The installation now deletes 03mountdl and 11link2sd to avoid conflicts.
Script now adds applications which are in internal to ext every boot because sometimes we can find new apk files in internal/app.

IMEI?
Hi,
thank you.
I'll check this.
And what about IMEI? Because the original script makes my IMEI dissapear.

do you know how to restore my IMEI..?
By searching in google, I think you need a Riff box or Z3x box to repair imei or just get it back to samsung
installed and works as described, i now have room to install stuff!!!
I'm glad that you are satisfied with the script.
doesnt work for me. bootloop. i resettet my phone and try again but loop again
I will try it on MindCr Rom.
Checked MindCr Rom and the script is working No bootloop.
Do you use applications like Link2sd ? Check with root explorer /system/etc/init.d if there is a script that mounts the ext partition.
If i lost my IMEI will this be a proplem ?

I don't think you'll loose your imei with this script. It was AMARULLZ DATA TO SD-EXT script that corrupted peoples'phone efs partition.
But make IMEI backup with this app Galaxy Toolbox for S5830 i/C/M/ and a cmw backup to restore if you got bootloop.

A phone with a lost IMEI is not authenticated to your carrier. So, no 2G/3G networks
Worked great for me...
and my IMEI is still there

If the script works /data/app and /data/dalvik-cache should be linked to sd-ext.
Open Root explorer and go to /data/app you have to see your installed apps and your used / free space in sd-ext.If you see internal memory instead of the sd-ext memory then something is wrong.

This version moves Apps Dalvik-cache local and data to ext. => More free internal memory but speed may decrease.

[Q] sd ext help pls!

i have sgm running on jellybread rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106187). according to the instructions"
- dont use apps2sd! (like s2e, darktremor, etc.). if you want to move app to sd-ext..
go to Settings > Apps > Manage application > tap the application you want to move >
Move to sd-ext" however when i did that it said not enough storage available
( i have ext 3, 1 gb partition) when i went to storage settings it said under sd-ext unavailable
i did a nandroid backup and then flashed the jba2sdx script now internal memory shows 1gb and sd ext shows 178 mb.
can i keep it like this? why (earlier) was sd ext not showing?
thanks!
btw is there any way to find out if this rom has init.d support?
now your sd ext is your internal and there's no problem if you are not having issues you can freely keep it

well its working without any lag or anything no errors (yet). but do i have to keep apps in internal memory only?
currently in storage option, there a the folowing:
SD CARD
total space-13.8gb
available space- 4.64 gb(thts all my stuff)
SD-ext
total space-178 mb
available-130 mb
INTERNAL STORAGE
tottal space- 0.94gb
available space-4.04mb (this was after just 19 apps)
that's why im asking how to clear that internal memory? when i go to manage applications there are options move to sd-ext and move to sd card.
what should i do?
I think your internal memory is still 178mb and system is thinking that sd-ext is internal (but it's not)
i would say system is reporting wrong info
ok in terminal type busybox df and paste the result here

PS when i go to internal storage most of the apps are b/w 50-30 mb each(which is quite large) some are lesser such as root explorer and stuff

the terminal data shows that your sd-ext is used only 27% which means you have around 700mb free don't know why it is showing less memory

uh...firstly that's coz i removed all those app (i did the nandroid backup to get the screenshots before jba2sd)
and im not sure if im explaining what i need properly....what i mean is that when apps are stored on internal memory they take up a lot of space...minimum 10mb (these are the small apps) and some of these start taking even 80 mb and stuff.....since i am using the jba2sdx script can i use the move to sd card option in manage applications or it will cause lag and stuff.?
and secondly why does sd ext show unavailable before flshing and after flahing becomes 178mb?
maybe jba2sdx script interchange your internal with sd-ext
you can try that option
just don't use much apps

[Q] [URGENT]Link2SD or App2SD(APP Migr), SD card

Alright, so I've rooted and flashed CWM but when doing backups in
Nandroid and Titanium both stored in on my internal memory, while I want it on my SD card.
SD card: 32GB, FAT32(one partition), tried to make two FAT32 partitions but the second was not detected by both Windows pc and phone.
Phone sees my internal storage as "sdcard0" while it sees my sd card as "extSDCard"
1)Should I use App2SD(they changed it's name to App MIGR) or Link2SD to move apps to SD?
I've got most things covered for Link2SD but I still don't understand the init.d support; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087497
2)While the Nandroid backup is pretty much organised, Titanium backup has like dozens of files, which am I supposed to choose if I wanted to restore my Titanium backup ?( I did the Backup new user+system apps & newer versions batch only.)(Nandroid didn't even detect my SD card while backing up.)
In cwm choose "backup and restore" / "backup to external sdcard" and your backups will be put in clockworkmod-folder on external sd.
For titanium backup you have to set location for backups to be on your external.
Have a look in titanium settings to change the default path.
I use derectorybind to bind the whole android folder to external.
Works great!

Both faria and benzrom (including drom) have init.d support. Just follow the guide to setup ext4 partition and Linux swap partition and link2sd should run fine.

Got both external options to work for now.
Did u mean u bind the whole RAM or just the internal storage. Does it warn you when some apps i.e. widgets can't be moved(before it's broken) or doesn't it have that limit like Link2SD ? (Am still hestitating to use it;
-App2SD has this note:"Move apps function may not work on your devcie as manufacture removes the function of moving apps to SD from Android system" don't know whether we have that.
-Link2SD has sort of difficult requirements before install.
-DirectoryBind; Because many issues where posted by members.

Directorybind has nothing to do with ram. You just symlink appdata from "/sdcard/android" to your external to get more internal space
Never had any problems with it and im using it on three different devices.

Got confused; I meant system ROM, since I just saw ~260MB left, but I suppose I made a mistake cause the system saves data to my internal storage too, am I right... o.0 ?
What are the differences between DirectoryBind, App MGR and Link2SD anyways?

How much space for;
FAT32 partition
Ext4 partition
Swap partition
and why on a 32GB SD card, the values.
The fat32 can be any size, this is your normal sd card data that you can use on your pc (music, videos, pics etc).
Ext4 should be however many apps sizes you want. Like if you have a lot of play store downloaded then set this as big as you think you need but save some space for linux swap.
Linux swap should be minimum 300mb (according to the guide), this is like a bit of extra ram incase your system ram gets full. Mine works fine with 800mb.
If you're looking for an example of what you could set, here :
Fat32 : 15gb
Ext4 : 15gb
Linux swap : 1gb
They could work fine is not very complicated unless I'm wrong. Study the guide well and read other people's posts on there too.

Yes 260mb is left on your system partition.
Installed apps goes to "/data" = internal storage.

sure it does....if u succeed in installing the Link2Sd the first option is to select ext 2,ext 3 or ext 4 to link it.....this might help on the init.d support...pretty easy actually...

I paid for Link2SD Pro but I've had some problems with it. When I contact the developer, Bulant, he sometimes responds but other times I get no reply.
Have you tried using both? What do you think of AppMgr? What about Link2SD?
