Hi, I somehow added a number to the blacklist in my cyanogen 5.x rom without even knowing that I did it and without going to settings to do it manually. Does anyone know the 'shortcut' to put a number in the blacklist? I spent two days trying to figure out why this person was getting hung up on but everyone else was fine.
Bump. I find it extremely hard to believe that no one knows how to add to the blacklist! (without going to the settings explicitly)
Used to be a way in Contacts, but I can't find it anymore.
i saw a dialog come up momentarily today that said "add to blacklist" but i dont know what made it come up. i would really like to be able to add to blacklist from the call log.
the number has to be in your list of contacts (ie. you must have added it as a contact)
if you then long press on the contact from the list, you can add it to the blacklist
It's actually very easy to add someone to the blacklist, maybe even too easy - when you're getting a call and instead of accepting or rejecting it you press the menu button, you'll see a popup with "add to blacklist" button. Or at least that's how it looks like in SuperD roms. But as far as i know they're using the same dialer, so it should be the same on cyanogenmod.
Adding someone to the blacklist by accident happened to me as well. Took me a while to figure out why one of my friends couldn't call me even though still could text me

Yes, this is true for all ROMs that use that particular phone modification.
As for a shortcut, just go to settings if you want to add one instantly without them calling. It doesn't take that long.
Hmm, I did think that I saw something for a split second right when I tried to answer the call that I blacklisted. Pressing menu doesn't do anything though.
Im having problems with Google Talk on my phone.
Normally, if u start a chat. and the other person is talking back, u should see the txt under your own txt. But i only see it as a balloon in my top-tray of the phone and do not see the txt written by the other person in the chat overview.
Anyone knows how to solve this?

My gf and I also have Galaxy S phones. Her device is running on I9000XXJFB firmware, mine is on I9000XWJM2. Shes having kinda like the same problem with GTalk: the screen is splitted to 2 sides (top&bottom), instead of how mine works (the good old conversation-look, when A-B-A-B persons messages follow each other).
Maybe its firmware-dependent? I did not find any option to change the layout in the settings menu.
Firmware is probably a good bet. If you want to hold off, have you tested to see what happens if you turn the setting balloon top-tray setting off? Would you see nothing at all? Or would it populate the message how it should.
You probably want the best of both worlds, it's worth a quick test if you have any reason to delay upgrading firmware.
disabling the notification button in the toptray would be a bummer anyway because then i wouldnt be notified if somebody is messaging me.
i downloaded a beta version of Hi GTalk from the market. which is working as it should work so i guess my problem isnt solved with Talk it self, but with installing an alternative app.
i think you'd still receive the sound notification. As long as you are going an alternative app route, i'd. consider uninstalling and reinstalling GTalk, it might just be corrupted.
good point. i will uninstall it and reinstall.
[edit] hehe i cant uninstall it. its "in the factoryrom" so i see. i dont see it at the installed programs list..?
gtalk still problem
Hi, I have the same problem with gtalk, also after upgrade to Froyo any ideas ?
solution
Solution:
Change time zone to the right location unbelievable, but it works !!! layout is dependent on internal time zone.
Good luck

At the moment, no way to disable the toast notification, only the sound.
You can swipe the notification off by sliding it to the right (same goes for when it's found a Wifi connection, etc.)
Not a solution to your question, but that's all you can do for now i think.
I'd have to agree...this is one thing that's driving me nuts so far..im hoping in the future they'll allow us to turn them off. I don't like leaving my phone as a text wakes it up, and then puts the text where anyone can read the first of it.
text notification on hd7
hi i know this thread is to stop led text notifications but i actually want it on mine but dont seem to have it, is this only on unlocked phones or can you access it on standard shop model?
many thanks if you can enlighten me

i use my phone since it was released in germany (mid october) but this feature is new to me.... thanks for the info.
Hi, I'm running stock Android 10 on my Note 9. One of the most annoying "features" is that incoming calls take up the whole screen with no possible means of dismissing, or switching to another app while its ringing. Often I don't want to send it to VM so I don't want to reject nor answer the call. I silence the ringer, I want to let it ring but I don't want to stare at the screen for the entire time its ringing. I have the show in pop up window enabled, but that only works if I have another app open. If a call just comes in when I don't have another app open, it obnoxiously takes over the phone with no options to do anything other than pressing either the red or green call buttons. Is there a way to change this behavior or can I install another dialer app and make it my default? I'm seriously amazed this is how it was designed to work!
If you're not in another app, why does it bother you?
If you mean when the phone is idle with screen off and a call comes in then I don't see a point in not being fullscreen.
When it is updated to ui 2.1 there might be a setting to change call display while using other apps/mini popup

Whether you see the point or not doesn't really matter, if I'm asking, what I'd like to know is can it be done or not? I don't understand these non informative responses. Why do you bother taking the time to respond only to say you don't see the point why I'm asking?
However, if you must fully understand before giving a more useful answer, I use Google voice and I need to see which calls come from Google voice as a forward versus direct calls to my cell phone number. The only way to differentiate is seeing if hangout is also ringing or not. Occasionally hang out starts up first in which case it works like a charm. But every time the phone app rings first, it locks the screen and I cannot navigate to the Hangouts app or even pull down the notification to see if Hangouts is even ringing.
That's only one reason. The other is if I don't want to send the call to voicemail, and I want to let it ring, I don't necessarily feel like staring at my phone for 30 seconds if I want to do something else on it. I've had many phones and this is the only one that is acting this way. It's dumb.

as I have already stated, I already have that option checked off but it only works as you said while in other apps. I question specifically was for times when I am not in other apps.
@Ztones try the things suggested here: https://webcazine.com/forums/how-to-reduce-a-call-screen-that-i-dont-want-to-answer-on-galaxy-s10/

Thank you, that was much more helpful! I'm not sure if it's due to the difference of S10 vs Note 9, but the swiping down diagonally from your left to lower right doesn't do anything for me. Anyways, I guess we have exhausted all options and using the edge is probably the best one for me. Thanks again!

Glad it works. If you'd like to try the swipe from corner to make the window small but you can't right now try to install Good Lock and use the module MultiStar. Inside this module there's an option called "Pop-up view action" which enables (or forces or re-enables xd) the functionality to swipe from the top corner diagonally in order to make the currently open app's window smaller.
If Good Lock does not work where you live then use either FineLock or NiceLock from the play store and install the module from here manually: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsu...amsung-multistar-3-2-28-android-apk-download/
Hi,
Just got the EMUI 12 update on my P30 Pro. I hate what they've done to the notification/control panel.
Anyway, when I get a Whatsapp message, and I try to drag down to read the whole thing, it suddenly creates a little pop out Whatsapp floating window. How do I stop it doing this?
Did anyone reply? Struggling to tell on this website sorry.
I have searched and searched and cannot find a way to disable this ridiculous and annoying feature.
I can't reasonably use WhatsApp in a floating window and I can't use whatever app it is obscuring.
Hey, no - no replies. I found a floating window part of the settings but it didn't make any difference. Only recommendation is to teach yourself to press the little down arrow on the notification instead. Very annoying. If I can't get used to it I think I'll actually swap the phone for something else when I get the chanc!
