Low video quality via HDMI - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just received original Samsung MiniUSB->HDMI cable for Note and... the video quality is terrible. Picture is choppy, pixelated and misaligned(it's cut on the top with blacks on bottom and sides).
I tried it with full hd Samsung lcd tv(36 inch) and Sony Bravia plasma tv (46 inch) with very same results.
For me it looks like the 720p video output that goes to the AMOLED display is very badly upscalled to [email protected]
Is there any configuration for HDMI output? Is it possible to turn off upscalling, so my tv could get 720p signal just as the phone screen receives it?

Does the TV's support 1080p and not only 720p?

Sooo?
Hmm well its really preference, you only manage to get 1080p with blu-ray right now. Cable is streaming at 720p so it comes down to what you will be using it for, also try out the 3d to see if you even like it. You don't want to buy it and never use it because you don't like it.

Ill probably go with the Samsung. Went to the Mall yesterday and they had a 3D on display and the picture was amazing. Looked like it was actually there in real life.
Plus ive read you cannot tell a difference from 720p or 1080p unless you have them side by side each other.
i would prefer 3d, because on such a little screen you won't see a difference between 1080p and 720p.
If you asked me, I wouldnt buy a 3d tv/screen
I just bought yesterday a 46inch led non 3d samsung tv and uys awesome and I agree no 3d its not worth it go with 1080p

TV out resolution

Is there any way to change the hdmi out resolution on the Galaxy Tab if you root it? I would prefer to run in 720P since that's all my TV supports and I also hope it would result in a faster refresh than friggin 30Hz.

Use the rca cable in the accessories section - that's lower resolution.
It cost $8 and arrives in a week.
Thanks for the suggestion but that's way too low of resolution.

Well, its one or the other.

hdmi problem

Hi
I ve bought the multimedia dock. When connected to my full hd TV then the image is too high in vertical mode and too wide in horizontal mode. Lets say, in vertical mode I only can see the botton part of the notification icons. Any clue?
Check your TV for any type of scale settings, my Panasonic made my ps3 zoom a bit like that.

Mi TV has 1080 pixels high but I guess the galaxy note2 is sending 1200 pixels. Could it be the reason?
Usually you have an option called Overscan or Full-Scan which needs to be adjusted when this happens.
I can't say what all TVs call it but Samsungs you have Full-Scan which needs to be set for a full 1080p picture and Panasonics have an option called Overscan which needs to be turned off for a full 1080p picture.
Good luck.

View problem with Multimedia Dock

Hi,
i got the multimedia dock for the sgn2, but, when i plug it on to my tv, there is a frame cuted around the desk.
Left, right, top and bottom are a little bit cuted.
Is there someone who have the same problem?
Could it be possible it's a problem with my tv?
My TV can not view full hd, he's only hd ready.
Thanks and best regards
Theres probably a setting on your tv to do with scaling and aspect ratio
I can't change the resolution or anything, when a device is connected via hdmi
It might be the tv not allowing you then....
