720p with 3d or 1080p with no 3d? - Off-topic

Buying a new tv and cannot decide if i should get a 1080p tv with no 3d or a 720p tv that has 3d. There about the same price so its hard to decide.

Sooo?

Hmm well its really preference, you only manage to get 1080p with blu-ray right now. Cable is streaming at 720p so it comes down to what you will be using it for, also try out the 3d to see if you even like it. You don't want to buy it and never use it because you don't like it.

Ill probably go with the Samsung. Went to the Mall yesterday and they had a 3D on display and the picture was amazing. Looked like it was actually there in real life.
Plus ive read you cannot tell a difference from 720p or 1080p unless you have them side by side each other.

i would prefer 3d, because on such a little screen you won't see a difference between 1080p and 720p.

If you asked me, I wouldnt buy a 3d tv/screen

I just bought yesterday a 46inch led non 3d samsung tv and uys awesome and I agree no 3d its not worth it go with 1080p

Samsung Smart TV vs Sony Internet TV

Hi, I'm going to get a new TV soon..
If you have one if the above, please do leave me a comment...
I'm interested on Getting a TV, probably a Samsung smart TV, 46" 600hz or 800hz model (L7 or L8).
Since Google TV is so amazing, I'd like to buy the separate box for my smart TV, my problem is will it work on smart TV?
Thanks!

A friend of mine has the Samsung Smart TV 46" LED 3D 800Hz, and it's simply amazing. He also got a pair of 3D glasses and the Samsung Galaxy 5 when he bought it, so you can use the 5" tablet as a remote, stream directly from the TV to the tab (if you're in another room for example) and so on. The only "downside" is that it doesn't look like a 46" since the bezel is almost nonexistent so i would go for the 55".
I haven't tested the Sony, so i can't really say if it's better, but the Samsung is the best i've seen.
I have a samsung 46inch smart led tv
and i love it, as for google tv, i think its a waste of money as the samsung smart tv has more apps to download and is much prettier interface.
I was not impressed by google tv, too boring and limited
If you really want to be able to stream internet to your tv get an hdmi cable or vga or what ever or get an hdmi wireless hp tv connect.
Then you wont have limitations of what sites and videos you can stream.
Just my 2 cents

As I remeber when it comes to TV now Samsung produces very good products. I myself know this, because I recently bought a new TV and it was Samsung, between 600 and 800MHz there is no difference in the image quality. AFAIK Google hasn't released info. about Google TV, but I'm not 100% sure .
Samsung.

I've got a Samsung LN52B630, and it's a great TV, especially the versatility of the built in media player.
Have the 400hz 55" one, simply amazing
Max. (From my Galaxy 2)

Check the word "motion"...
Yeah, taking my nexus s as a TV remote is cool...
Google TV (Sony) has 1000000:1 ratio, but I can't find any in Samsung. And Google TV module runs on android apps, I'll check this out in store tomorrow.

The 240w is the input power... 50/60hz.
The one we are saying is motion... 600hz or 800hz.check out Samsung site and you will know it.

Just buy a plasma or a dlp. No worries about refresh rates.
120hz/240hz used sparingly, adds depth and realism to the picture.
I'll never go back to a 60Hz TV.
Smart TV is quite Cool... should be very cool

Internet TV is cool but it would be very hard to play on a remote controller, they must give away some keyboard along with the tv also.

Are you sure that's not a Plasma you've got there ?
600hz is a refresh rate for Plasma TV's. (not LED)
What is the model # of your Samsung ?

Thank you!!!
Thats what i was wondering about those refresh rates
My led is 120hz which is pretty damn good cause most devices hooked up to it can only do 60hz
Computer is an exception going up to 75hz

Low video quality via HDMI

I have just received original Samsung MiniUSB->HDMI cable for Note and... the video quality is terrible. Picture is choppy, pixelated and misaligned(it's cut on the top with blacks on bottom and sides).
I tried it with full hd Samsung lcd tv(36 inch) and Sony Bravia plasma tv (46 inch) with very same results.
For me it looks like the 720p video output that goes to the AMOLED display is very badly upscalled to [email protected]
Is there any configuration for HDMI output? Is it possible to turn off upscalling, so my tv could get 720p signal just as the phone screen receives it?
Does the TV's support 1080p and not only 720p?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Both TVs are full HD (1920x1080).
Umm are u sure u didnt buy the hdmi from ebay?? Cuz i know there are fake samsung hdmi selling cheap which is bad quality when outputting to your tv!! so make sure you bought the Genuine hdmi from samsung.

1080p MHL to hdmi?

anyone know which one supports full hd output?
this is the one i have and it works great!

i ended up getting this westtek model, can you adjust the resolutions on these things? im getting 720 p on my desktop monitor, which is fine but this thing is supposed to be capable of 3d and 1080p, it only put 640 on this old sony plasma monitor in the living room. and it just isnt putting enough juice to the phone so it a slower drain. I will buy a 30 dollar model if its going to preform like it should.. no battery drain, and 1080p, also netflix is outputing at a 4by3 not 16by9 format. this looks promising http://www.htcdepot.com/ibolt-mhl-streamer-xl-adaptor/5A205A9831.htm

1080p on samsung wireless cast hub?

Ok here it is I brought a Samsung wireless cast hub yesterday from best buy I've never really done research on it but now that I have I'm confused between it being able to stream 1080p videos which there's some sites and folks claiming it does but on my end all I'm seeing is actually a bad quality which probably is 720p mind you it looks awful on my hdtv but looks good on my phone I don't get it is there anyone of you guys out there that has this device and could chip in if it does play 1080p videos or does it only play 720p because if not I'm planning to just return it and get a mhl to hdmi cable instead any help would be great.

Amazon Prime Streaming

I'm wondering if anyone has a good idea to stream amazon prime streaming onto the chromecast. I try to to just cast the whole screen and then it lags. However I'm wondering if the new one might be better for screen mirroring.
I'm almost positive that the new one has better broadcasting options for Amazon video.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Amazon has pretty much gone to war with Google over streaming video. You basically have to pick one (Chromecast/AndroidTV, or FireTV), or go with a successful neutral like Roku. They're being real dicks about it.
