Hello everyone forgive me if I am posting in wrong section. I just have a query thats why I am posting it here.
I have a Samsung Galaxy GT-P1000 (Firmware Version: Froyo 2.2, Baseband Version: P1000DDJJ1, Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected]#4, Build Number FROYO.DDJK3).
This night I just checked the firmware update of this device through Samsung Kies(VERSION_2.1.0.11112_41_7) and Kies shows me :

does this mean a Gingerbread upgrade?(if yes then is there any other way to flash this same update without kies) or what it means??? can anyone help me about this??? I am really confused right here
Thanks in advance...

AFAIK, JPA is Gingerbread, it's what overcome 4.0.0 based on. I never update via kies so I can't help you there. about any other way, you can use odin and get your region's firmware on samfirmware. thats what i do on the early flashing when cwm still not available. the step is explained on many threads throughout xda, u can search for one
@Justin^Tan :thank you very much for your reply....I will obviously going to look what you said..thanks..
but the thing is I am confused because I dont know what it means by (TML) and in in our country internet is not that fast yet so thats why i was looking for this update as stock to flash without kies support....
so still i am looking forward if anyone sure know about this.......
Hello Bro
DDJPA means Gingerbread 2.3.3 for Indian region.
I advise u to update it via Kies.Just wait for it to finish.Do not disconnect ur tab midway during update. This update will download about 450 MB data.So better do it with atleast 1 Mbps speed plan.Otherwise it may take a long time and there may be temporary disconnections with samsung servers. Then you have to start again from scratch.[With my 2 Mbps download speed it took about 30 minutes and first time after downloading about 250 MB kies lost connection. Then it started the process again after asking me to confirm it]
Flash and enjoy Gingerbread.
@nelsonoski1972,
thank you for your valuable information. I dont have a internet connection of that speed. the internet speed is really poor in the whole country thats why I asked if I can do it manually without kies. and what do you mean by lost connection then it started the process again after confirmation. if there is a connection error or server problem on the flashing process will it come to previous rom? just to be sure that there is no risk of bricking even the process stops on the way...

If there is a connection error, kies will inform u and ask u to update again.Ur tab will now be with previous froyo firmware[The one with u have started before].No risk of bricking is there.Onlything,NEVER disconnect the cable during update process.[UR computer also should not crash during the update!!]
Thank you very much nelsonoski1972 you are lifesaver. atleast now i can try the update...thanks again man...
P1000 DDJP4 OR DDJJ1 CSC and Modem file
can anybody give me P1000 DDJP4 OR DDJJ1 CSC and Modem file download link or upload please...
I uploaded my Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 to DDJP4 but it only shows the PHONE1000DDJP4 other two fields are blank (MODEM and CSC)...
please if anybody provide those files it will be helpful....thak you in advance.
NB: I flashed JJ1>JJ4 via odin with just P1000DDJP4.tar(PDA) file. it stuck on samsung logo then I flashed dbdata.tar then it started normally in DDJP4. now the other two file are blank.
Told u so!!!
@Mistermish2000
I told u to update through Kies.
Well,now u r in the same boat.
I upgraded to DDJPA GB thro kies. Then i tried so many things and had to return to DDJPA GB through odin.
Now i am also having the same problem like you.
I consulted with two of our best Tab devs here and they could not solve it.
One thing:Tab will work 100% and you do not have to worry about that.
Only drawback is that kies will not recognize ur tab anymore.
NB: Do not worry about kies support.DDJPA might be the last update[99% sure] for indian Tab users .

So, what's the basic difference between the different "branches" of the firmwares?
I believe consensus was that the JM firmware is some sort of in-development or test version, any idea what the difference is between JJ & JK? I know there's been official updates for the JJ series pushed out via Kies, is the same true of JK?
Since there doesn't seem to be any obvious difference between them, is there a good reason to stick with one versus another for the sake of legitimacy?
Also - does anyone want me to throw together a super-root UPDATE.ZIP for the tab? (Shell root, busybox & superuser) or are people happy with z4 & super one-click?
JJ and JK means Oct 2010 and Nov 2010
nothing special
samfirmware code has it
that means JK is newer since it released on November
tha latest should be JL
there shouldnt be any JM
thats why maybe people here call it some sort of test firmware
the area region is the 2 digit before JJ/JK
like DX for SE Asia, or XX/XW for europe
as the last number is the version, which generally means bigger is newer
official always out later then the unofficial ones, so in my logic, the JJ update via Kies is the most stable that samsung tested
it doesnt mean the JK ones is not stable, maybe they havent got the time to test it yet
JM are typically test firmwares.
I got a JK5 through Kies last week up from European XXJI.

Yep, that's the official update indeed. See links below to learn how to use the CheckFUS app (instead of Kies) to determine firmware availability:

According to the Kies registry entry, my product code is GT-P1000CWACPW.
The CWA part seems to be a complete orphan, most of the codes seem to be HK? of some form. Guess I should've left it on the stock JJ3 firmware.
I've grabbed one of the 550Mb CPW firmware files, decrypted it, unzipped it and flashed it as the PDA file in Odin (no PIT, no repartition).
It's flashed the kernel, cache partition, factoryfs partition (/data and /system etc. I assume), got to the "hidden" partition and hung. Still trying to work out what's going on. Looks like people are having no success with this partition (which by the sounds of it has the full version of NovaHD in it, so not hugely useful).
Once extracted the .tar was over 600MB, took a long time to flash it all! Probably not wisest to flash it in a virtual machine running on a hackintosh.
Edit: Just used Heimdall to flash the individual components using the standard P1.PIT, I left out the "hidden" partition, will just mount it as a loop device and manually copy the data into the main FS.
Edit2: Yup, the hidden.rfs file just has the full copy of NovaHD in it, the demo Movies (trailers) and a DioDict.apk.
can anybody use that nova apk? if the answer is yes, can you upload it? ^^
My understanding (and I'm a n00b so don't flame!) Is that CSC is the carrier customization portion of the firmware, and that CPW stands for Car Phone Warehouse...
According to FUS I'm on the latest stock UK firmware...

Hmm. So you went to gb? Earliest possible? And then reset? What did you do?
Also did you verify preconditions or only factory reset? You are not clear. Can't help you if you dont specify what you did. Also can't help you if you deviate and just do random stuff and don't read all...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, when update failed, I tried factory reset before update. This rom is ics, factory reset =>ics. Not gb
Make sure you DON'T wipe or perform factory reset on stock ICS kernels, else you will brick your phone.
If you still want to use OTA then search the forum, I have seen lot of users with same issue. You will definitely find some solution.
EDIT- Okay checked now that you can't even update using kies as well, now tell us how did you update to ICS 4.0.4, kies or odin?
OTA updates are never ever reliable to my concern... Update your phone thru PC KIES.. Install PC KIES on your PC/laptop, plug your phone (enable USB debugging) and KIES will detect the new firmware and update your phone... it's as easy as it gets...
yeah forgot that step, if ota doesn't work check kies, if kies doesn't work check preconditions.

I think he might be referring on not being able to update to ICS 4.0.4 bud... He is currently using 4.0.3 ICS still and his main contention is to upgrade to to 4.0.4 from 4.0.3..
but on the lighter side.. I too am curious how he come to update his phone to 4.0.3 before... It shouldn't be that hard if he has already updated it to 4.0.4, since the method on KIES works pretty much the same thing (in updating 4.0.4 from 4.0.3 using PC Kies.)

But the screenshot in OP shows DXLR2 (4.0.4), thats why I asked. I guess he has some minor update on 4.0.4 only.
OfT:
yeah I guess perhaps so. I forgot to look closely on his screenshot as well.. my bad. Perhaps that minute firmware update is the whole issue he is having problems with. Anyway, OP.. nothing for you to be concern with. Just like what I've said.. Plug your phone to PC KIES and that firmware update will push through to your phone after.
Thank you everybody. I was update from 2.3 => 4.0.3 => 4.0.4 via OTA. When I connect N7000 with PC using PC Kies, but Kies don't work : Firmware infomation:Your device does support to upgrading via Kies".

What i8190 version have you got. Regular or N/L version?
Have you tried stock rom with odin yet?
If you did use odin, did you flash stock recovery first, or was it included in the firmware package?
i have regular version

Try go to servicemenu. Somewhere in there there's a choice to restore/rebuild NV_Data. Don't know if it works, but it might be worth a try

I don't have stock rom now so I can't guide you through the whole menu, but lets get you started..
First open up dialpad and enter *#0011#
A screen with RF status or something will appear.
Now use your menu-key to bring up some uptions and choose "back".
Now I don't remember if that will take you to default servicemenu or if you have to go back one more time using the menu-key once again.
Anyway..I think option to restore NV_Data is somewhere under the debug menu..
You'll have to browse the menus back and fourth, couse I can't remember where it is exactly. I just know it's in there somewhere
when i pushed nv rebuild :
MENU NOT EXIST
PRESS BAC KEY
Current command is 3335
omg i didnt thought that such small drivers update is such a pain in a**
by now i have no more ideas how to bring back my baseband from XXXX to normal
but as i think modem.bin is responsible for that
DAMN!
So whats missing?
Do you have root so you can look for /modemfs & /efs-folder?

NE3 (kitkat) which is easily rootable, which you can then go to lollipop (and keep root) easily enough from there, should you wish. MF1 is ancient, no wonder it's giving you issues.
Even if you don't need or want root, go with NE3. It's the most stable of the recent builds, and from there you can either stay on kitkat or easily upgrade to lollipop, with or without root.

DON'T use kies. Trust me on that. The download link you asked for. Extract all four files and use all four concurrently with Odin should look like:

I would strongly recommend using Odin v3.09 if you aren't already, I have it for you if you need. Yes I realize the picture shows 3.07 but trust me I've done this a million times
Alright I'm gonna do it right now hopefully no errors occur I'm gonna post to tell you what happens
Oh! I should mention, when you do this, your phone will automatically reboot on its own a couple times, and one of those times will be to the stock android recovery. This is completely normal, just leave your phone alone and let Odin do its thing. I say this because I've seen so many people freak out when their phone starts doing stuff on its own. Just let Odin go, it knows what it's doing. Good luck!
Hello, I had recently try to install the Nougat update on to my Mexican Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920G. I used the Bangladesh version of the firmware, my phone is on the latino american carrier Telcel. Before the update I had Trinidad and Tobago's Marshmallow firmware and was working great since the las year (Telcel delay so much it's firmware updates so I opted to use other country firmware instead to wait for them to release it for Mexico). Yesterday when I tried to upgrade to Nougat using the Bangladesh firmware, everything went O.K until the part when it starts to write the system image, when Odin reached that point it suddenly put "failed" on the status window and the phone got stuck in the downloading window. I rebooted the phone and I've got a message saying that the firmware update went wrong and that I have to connect it to use Smart Switch's Emergency Recovery Function. I tried that but Smart Switch doesn't recognize my phone when I connect to it, then I tried to flash the firmware that I had before without any success. Whenever I reach the point where Odin start to flash the system image it says fail once again and in the phone shows up a text saying "System Rev. Check Fail Device:1. Binary:0". What can I do in order to get back up and running my beloved Note 5? It is already dead for good? Or there's any hope for saving it?.

No, you can't flash a different model, only N920G firmware.
Try downloading the India firmware using SamFirm 0.3.6, extract it and you'll get the 4 files (BL, AP, CP and CSC).
Using Odin 3.12.3 put the 4 files on their respective places and flash it. Worked for many in Brazil.
I recommend factory reseting your phone before flashing.
Samsung Pay won't work since it's the Indian version, but everything else including Samsung Health and Gear accessories should work just fine.
