Themed Contacts.apk - LG Revolution

Anyone that has done this I have a question for you. I have been working on theming my conatacts.apk. I have it pushed to the phone everything seems to be working except for when I press my voicemail button next to the call button. Anyone else have any issues with it? Only things I have changed is the .9 pictures haven't touched any of the xml files.

That is for Visual Voicemail. I believe. We don't have that apk anymore so it FCs

UPDATE: build.prop that'll allow HTCMusic and Google voice to both work :D

I am wondering if there has been a build.prop file for cyan4.2.14.1 that will enable the installation of HtcMusic and will not crash Google Voice? Thanks for the help.
No, I use the web for google voice (voice.google.com) if I want HTCMusic.

This was something I didn't want to hear... haha thanks man.
No problem, the web version isn't that bad. I made a shortcut on the desktop with the GV icon, so it kinda cushions the blow a bit.

Lol I like your style of thinking.
EDIT: So I found a build.prop that'll work on cyan and allow GV and HTCmusic to install and both work properly. I'm not sure whatelse it'll break.. but we'll find out. I stole this from BlueMagic1.4
You'll want to remove the .txt and push it to /system
The GV is build 0.2. I haven't tested the latest.

Captivate keyboard

For those of you who like the Samsung's iPhone-style keyboard from the other Galaxy S models (yet another thing mysteriously removed for Verizon), I've attached the .so and .apk files from the latest Captivate deodexing. Just copy 'em into /system/lib and /system/app respectively, reboot, and they should work. (Or you could use adb, but that's not working for me right now.) You may want to remove the LatinIME stock android apk/odex that the Fascinate ships with -- the Samsung apk includes the Android keyboard as well.
Here tossed it in a flashable zip for clockwork, haven't tested it but should work.
Thanks s44, for this.
Does it support Swype?
Swype is its own app.
THANK YOU! I've been waiting for this

I don't hear any sound?
I used the update.zip and if all volume is up there is a click feedback for typing I can live with it but it is a little annoying and if I turn system volume off using audiomanager widget the sound is off and my headache goes away lol.

Trying it now, seems to lag a little bit for me.

I installed this, but can't get it to switch over to the new keyboard. Is there something special you have to do to choose the keyboard as default?
Long-press in any text entry field to bring up the keyboard selection menu.
Thanks
Thanks, that worked and this keyboard is awesome.

[Q] How to fix the Captivates text messaging system?

On my Captivate when I recieve a message it's never in order.
For example, I send a test text to a friend at 7:41. When he sends it back one minute later the text ends up behind mine (not in order) and the time recieved says 2:41am.
Is there something wrong that I'm missing? How can I fix this?

Yeah, that did not work at all. Messed things up even more.
Any other ideas?
Use Handcent, it's free, totally customizable and works.

don't use auto time/date update
if you use the stock messaging app, try using handcent or chomp and see if it still does it.

[Q] in need of verizon vvm apk 4.4 kitkat

Can anybody with a Verizon X pull the ask for visual voicemail for me??? Running slimkat 4.4.2 on my RAZR HD and dont know how else to get it..
Sorry, when I switched to Verizon last year and realized they were trying to charge Android users for visual voicemail (something I've gotten free on Sprint and ATT) I told them to shove it and switched to Google Voice for my visual voicemail needs. Never looked back.

It takes some finesse, but is definitely possible - I'm using Google Voice for only my voice mail on my Verizon Moto X. If you're interested, PM me, and I can try to help you out.
Also, I do not know how to pull .apks and am not rooted, otherwise I would.

Really? Works flawlessly here and very little finesse necessary on my part.
Set it up, make Google Voice your voicemail provider in Phone / Settings / Voicemail / Service, and in the next step when it tells you your carrier is not able to be set up automatically, just click, next, skip, whatever... then dial the numbers listed here (I dial all three just to be safe, but just using the first had worked for me early on):

*71[Your 10-digit Google Voice number]
*90[Your 10-digit Google Voice number]
*92[Your 10-digit Google Voice number]

7zip. It's just another zip utility with slightly different compression. Just do a search for 7zip and you'll find something that can open it.

Where does this go? Is it possible you need to drop it into the /system/app (??) folder, set permissions, then reboot?

As discussed, it's just a compressed file. If I attach a .zip, most people try to flash it and then say they it didn't work .

You need to put the files in /system/priv-app and make sure the correct permissions are set for both files. If it doesn't show up in the app launcher, you can try installing it from that location.

OK. Do I moved it into the system/privapp folder. It does show up in my app drawer however the app won't open.. What should the permissions be set to? Right now I have everything checked. Tried a couple different combinations but none of them have seemed to work..

it may never work. it might need some other verizon apk to run correctly for all i know. a lot of system apps that verizon or others install rely on other apps to work. thats why people are nervous when removing certain bloat ware system apps because sometimes they help other apps work.
google voice saves money and integrates with every phone and is far more useful. You can set it up to text you when someone hits your voicemail even if you failed to receive the call on your phone. No point in using vvm IMHO.

I know it's not a direct answer to your question, but you may want to consider switching to google voice for your voicemail needs. I recently made the switch, and it is awesome. My voicemail just appears in Hangouts right along with text messages associated with that phone number. I was able to listen to a voicemail while on an airplane over WiFi today... It's pretty sweet.

Does not work for me. Does the same thing at the one I pulled from my S3, it loads it has me call into my VM to activate but then just sits there and says it wasn't able to activate, try to call voicemail again...
I've tried a half dozen times.

I pulled these from my 2013 Moto X /system/priv-app/
Its the VVM.apk and vvm.odex
I placed them in the same directory on the Nexus 6 and made sure the permission were the same as the Moto x.
Once I reboot, I got a popup dialog that said visual voice mail had failed. But the app was in my app drawer.
if anyone has any suggestions.
Attached are the files. I am in the same boat.

Voicemail .apk
I pulled these off of my Droid Turbo.
This version of Verizon VoiceMail is 3.1.0.
I also put in the same directory and set permissions and rebooted. It installed with no force closes but I cannot get past the set up.
I get this error message and code 9009.
Someone wanna call support and ask them for a workaround while I'm at work??
Anyone that is smarter than me wanna give this a shot?? I would love the community to be able to pull this off and get this working for all of us premium voicemail users.
