Ive installed the latest cyanogen mod rom and i have been using it for a while. There are a few bugs i have noticed through my use of the phone and they are kinda getting annoying.
First of all i have noticed randomly while i am listening to music the music app that came with cyanogen will freeze up and then it will start again but after it does that there is no sound. And when i force close the application, i use the controls on the side of the phone to change the volume and it will only change the media volume not the ringer volume. to fix this when it happens i have been having to restart the phone and go on from there.
Another bug i have been noticing is when i turn the phone to vibrate mode using the controls on the left of the phone when i recieve a text i do not get a notification. I would excpect that it would vibrate as well.
Another one is that when i am listening to music and i recieve a text it will turn off the sound similar to the first bug i talked about. It says it is still playing but there is no sound coming from it. To fix it i have been having to restart the phone.
To listen to my music with my earphones i have an adapter and some times when i am using that the phone will go into a reboot loop until i take out the adapter and then once the phone is back up plug the adapter back in.
These are all quite annoying and i would like to see if you guys have any input on the matter. Thank you
I don't think that any of these are platform bugs, but rather are cyanogen bugs. I suggest you post bug reports to cyanogen's bug tracker.

Well i thought about that as well but i looked at the rules for the bug tracker and i am currently in the process of making more accurate bug reports for the bug tracker. I came here to see if i could get any quick fixes or to ask if these are common things or i may just have to format my phone and reinstall cyanogen. So yeah i hope i can get some feedback from other users. I may just have to format as i said but i hope that there could be something else i could do. dont want to just go to all that trouble to not get it fixed.
edit: I looked further into the bug tracker for cyanogen and i dont have the required materials to make a report as i dont have a log of the issue. its just something that tends to happen.
Its happening alot today and well yeah its getting really bad, i dont think there is anything wrong with my phone. So i think i am just going to format and reinstall a new rom. idk if i will stay cyanogen or not. anyone have any recomendations for the rom i should install?
Super D is pretty awesome. It's an improvement on the Cyan roms. So you get Cyan plus some extras.
Could i get a link to the correct version i should use?
Yep here is the link for Super D
thank you installed it and i am no longer having any issues. Wonderful
HI guys. I flashed the latest Nova HD build last week, and up till now it has a few problems.
Speaker not working (the normal one not the in-call speaker)
I tried playing videos on youtube and games and even my music but it does not work at all, I checked and all the volume settings are full. I have tried many solutions like rebooting the phone, reflashing the rom, blowing the speakers. It's worth noting that the sound works on my headphones when they are plugged in. HELP?!
Glitch-y notification bar
Sometimes the notification bar toggles cannot be seen and the whole notification drop-down is blank. For this one I have no idea what is going on but when I open an app or something like that and then exit the notification bar comes back. This one is just irritating, nothing much though.
Battery life isn't as good as claimed but small issue, I lived through a short battery life on my Motorola Atrix before the screen got smashed after I unbootlocked it.
Thanks in advance!!
Also..
It's worth noting that it's not a hardware issue I believe as the speaker was working on the MIUI Rom I flashed on it when I got it as a gift and never touched it until recently, and the headphone icon in the notification bar does not show up when the headphones are plugged in, and I can't remember if this is supposed to happen.

In cwm made three and flash ROM format. in aroma intaller not reformat and install the basic version (no custom). so try to find out if you have the same problem. What's important not to restore the system app with titanium backup.
Sorry for my English.
I'm sorry I didn't really get you. Are you suggesting that I flash a stock rom without backup and then switch back or flash a basic version of the rom without backup? Or flash cm9 stock without mods before switching back?

I dont have any bugs like you. Just try full wipe before flash the rom again.
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
Actually you need to format 2 cache and not the third (date format / factory) that will also clear the rom.In this condition do not lose anything of your information. From there, install zip from sd / sd choose zip and flash rom nova. In aroma installer asked you to select rom based (you choose the first three options) and install.

Sorry
Hi guys, sorry for the late reply, I've been busy at school lately. Well I've basically redownloaded the rom, completely wiped the phone, including the dalvik cache, installed the rom free of any tweaks, before reinstalling the desired rom, and both have no effect on the speaker. I'm really lost but I can't really be bothered to unroot my phone and send it in, and still have to pay for it.
p.s. I have another problem. Sometimes while scrolling, the scrolling isnt smooth esp. when trying to add widgets etc. or change the app operations. Like the words all blend together for a while like it's laggin before returning to normal. Is this normal?
Thanks for all your input!
Did you try to match RIL? Download getRIL (search in google play) and see if your RIL is matching. I'm new here, so I'm not sure if what I'm saying is correct, hehehe.

I get that sometimes on CyanogenMod 10.1. What I do is go to Settings>Applications, find the Gallery app, then press "Clear Data." That usually fixes the Gallery app until the next CM 10.1 update.

I got this error when I turned on the big mem setting without first going into the camera and changing the video quality to 480 instead of 720.....also if big mem setting is on, sometimes even after flashing a new rom big mem is still on.
Im not getting any updates needed via notifications or goo manager. I did a fresh complete delete n install of aocp 5 and hellybean lastest roms and still cant get the camera to work, very odd I must say. That being said Im totally lost on this one. I havent changed any of the memory settings that im aware of.Is it possible the camera has become defective for no reason or is it probably a software issue?

I'd say to try going back to stock KK4 at this point, test your camera, it it works, work your way back up to the ROM you wanna use. If it doesn't, it's probably hardware.

I'm not so sure. Although, there might be a app for it.
When on stock, did you try it barebone? (Without restoring your apps)

Was your phone already on 2.3 when you got it?? Otherwise, you should have Odin KK4 with bootloaders already.
Either way, here it is: http://hotfile.com/dl/137871658/d25...O_Bootloaders_Re-partition_Full_Wipe.zip.html
You'll need Corn kernel afterwards to get back on the ROM you want to use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26710533&postcount=1
Re: [Q] Camera just stopped working (capitivating 4.2.2)
I GUESS ITS HARDWARE related, I tried all advice n still no luck. I mute the phone and when I try to start the camera It shows the camera app start(but the lens never opens on screen) but I still hear a "click" sound and then the app force closes with the error message. I have went back to the captivating 4.2.2 Rom by sephhi (my favorite for the cappy by far)and will just use the phone as is until I hear of a fix in the future. I will keep monitoring this thread if anyone finds a fix please advise asap. Thanks for everyones help.

Your reply isn't very clear. Did you go back to stock KK4 and try it and that gave you the black screen? If so, yes it is hardware related and we can't fix it for you, you'll need to have it repaired. (mobiletechvideos.com might be able to)

I guess I'll just use it as is without a camera for now , I think fixing it would cost more than I wanna pay at this time.
Anyone know how much cash I could get out of this phone if I sold it with captivating rom 4.2.2 installed on it without the camera working?
I may just sale it and purchase a new phone. Thanks:good:

Having a custom on it won't make it more valuable. Most people like to get them clean.
Also, they were around 60$ last time I checked, I dunno now.
If you're looking to sell, PM me
Re: [Q] Camera just stopped working (capitivating 4.2.2)
I wasn't saying because it has 4.2.2 its valued more. Just was wondering the value of the phone and was stating the current Rom(and by far the best IMO) installed on it. I just recently purchased this phone GSM Network unlocked for $160.00 locally. Thanks for everyones help:thumbup:
I will take $110.00 for the phone and take a loss. I'm not techy/smart enough to attempt to repair the camera myself LOL, if anyone is interested PM me.

I'm running TD 9.1, and prior was on 8.0. Tried both stock kernel, and a few other ones with no luck. At first when the sounds starts playing, the left speaker works fine, then with in a sec, it will fad to almost nothing. Is this something someone else has encountered? For all I know it has been like this since day one.. But I don't believe so.
Edit: I have also tried clean installs. i have not tried other roms yet.
Double edit: My xda search is not working, but google did for me. Found one other person having somewhat the same issue, but it was never answered. I hate to bump an old tread like that, after i have posted mine already.

I have the exact same issue. Tried million ROMs, sound patches and tricks but nothing change. The easiest way to see the difference between the two speakers is to run the Audio Test using HTC Function Test by dialing *#*#3424#*#*
Finally, I managed to get S-Off and now I'm going to get back to 100% stock flashing RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_BrightstarUS_WWE_1.29.1540.3.exe, I'll do the test again and update the post.
EDIT: I'm full stock and it didn't fix it I guess I have to send it back...
BTW, what did you do? Did you fixed yours?
Running Sinless 5.1.5 now with elemental, everything works 100%. I guess for some reason my phone just didn't like TD, we all know they have a personality of there own..
Sorry for the long wait before response, I don't pay attention very well.
Hey,
So my dad isnt exactly satisfied with the custom ROM I flashed on his device, he needs to wait about 4 - 5 seconds (!) when theres an incoming call for the screen to turn on. The ringtone will keep on going off during that few seconds, but the screen will be black.
So I tested it on my Nexus 4, and no such issue has been spotted by me. Although, on his device, no matter how many times I tried, the issue was never gone and I had to wait a couple of seconds for the screen to turn on so I could see who's calling.
I'm not sure whether it is a kitkat issue or not, I tried 2 different roms, first BeanStalk, and now CyanFox, both had the same issue.
I also tried to flash CM10.1, but the keyboard kept on crashing after a fresh flash, wipes didnt help (maybe someone could give me a hand here?).
Another question is, where can I find some good call recording app? the ones from the play store aren't good, they only record one side of the call, never both
tl;dr:
is there some setting that I should change for the screen to turn on quicker when theres an incoming call on kitkat?
what to do if I want to downgrade from kitkat to jellybean?
is there some GOOD call recorder app around?
thank you

actually no, STOCK 4.1.2 didnt have this issue, it started to show when I flashed 4.4.2 on it, is there some sort of fix for this or do I have to downgrade to JB? I'd rather stick to KK as I prefer it more.
on the other hand my dad hated google hangouts and he wants the stock messaging app back, I guess I can only go with CM
also I cant install a keyboard from the market, because I cant even log in to my google account, I cant get through the setup without a few things crashing over and over again, every second or so. the keyboard doesnt even show up
delete the latinIme.apk from the zip file you are trying to flash and substitute it with one from the other roms you tried flashing.
I know how to control the delay with which the ringer starts but not screen :s
These commands I think only help when call ends but it doesn't hurt to try, add them (or check the values if already present)
to build.prop in zipfile before you flash it
Code:
ro.lge.proximity.delay=5
mot.proximity.delay=5
I am on kitkat right now and have no lag issue...have you tried changing kernel?

I flashed Nameless ROM and surprisingly the lag issue is gone, and due to stripped gapps I flashed, I got the old messaging app back, which is quite the perfect combo, now the only thing I am missing is a good call recording app, is there a chance you can suggest one to me?

well I tried it out, the rom is nice and all, but my phone is extremely slow, the lag issue with phone calls is back, sometimes turning the screen off is impossible, or takes up to 2 minutes (!). turning it back on isnt much better either, I dont know what the problem is, the same thing happened on the BeanStalk ROM so I assume it isnt a software issue, but a hardware one, do you have any ideas what could be the problem and how can I solve it?
I want to tell you my experience about custom roms.
I don't know if you tried this combo: CM11 + kicos kernel (modified iodak's kernel) + minimal PA gapps
I works for me very well.

yeah, but shouldnt all the 4.4.2 ROMs be quite snappy? doesn't kitkat reduce the hardware requirements? why would JB work fine (or so I think, I'll go back to stock in a few mins and see) and KK be laggy as hell?
I've got a theory, I'm not a hardware guy and I dont know if I'm right or not, but:
could be that one of the cores is damaged and the system tries to switch some tasks to the damaged core (if android handles different cores the way I think) and that core doesnt really work the way it should, causing the entire system to work like a granny?

This is probably some wake/lock problem with software. Also on my o2x i've noticed strange lag when i press the power key it has lag until the screen comes on buttons below the screen light and after a couple of seconds the screen. It has 4.3 CM rom there if your father is using this phone i would suggest you some stock based rom with custom kernel. They should not have problems like these.

could be, however, it isnt only for the power button, when the screen is off and a call is coming, it needs a few seconds for the screen to turn on, after the call is done, the system is all choppy and laggy. Turning the screen off after that is also nearly impossible, due to power button malfunction. I went back to stock for now and I'll see if the lag is gone, if it isnt, then its probably a hardware issue.
edit:
yeah, I'm on stock 4.1.2 and the issue isnt gone.
crap.
sounds like a problem in the timing the processor uses for scaling frequencies...
hav no idea what could be causing it unless you have some kernel tweak app and set wrong values
Have you tried clean flashing the Roms you installed? Have you Factory-Reset, Cleared cache, cleared Dalvik cache, and maybe did a system partition format before flashing?
