[Q] Camera App Freezes on Click

Recently after upgrading my CM7 version to the latest final build. The camera app hasn’t been able to take a picture. I would click the button to take a picture and then it just freezes the app and I have click home to get out of it.
Any Ideas on what might be causing this? I really don't want to have to wipe the phone as reinstalling and syncing everything takes too much time for me and I have finals coming up and can't have my phone not with all my info for more than a few hours due to a business I am setting up

Wipe only cache and reflash the ROM, that *might* do it.

Yup I agree. Also it might be a bad dl zip. If what duce posted doesn't work try just redownload the zip, do a full wipe, and flash away. Id also try reflashing your recovery it might help.

Sounds like what happens when you use the 2.6.35 kernel.

H'm I am using sobes kernel... I'll try going to ondemand

Edit: thanks for pointing that out, switching to.ondemand worked, I seemed to have forgotten doves kernel is finicky like that. I'll click thanks when I get home

Firstly, thank you for wasting your time read my post which may not actually work for your device.
Ok, let's begin.I believe that I find a way to fix MIUI GPS problem. Maybe works for CM, but i haven't tested it.
It was all begin from I found a phenomenon that the first boot after I flashed a GPSfix.zip(download from MIUI.com), GPS would work perfectly, but the second time i booted, the third time i booted, GPS just broke down. So i thought that it was the script in the GPSfix.zip that made GPS work!!
Obviously, what I need to do is that to make sure the script runs every time I boot my phone. So I got an app "autostart.apk" for help. And then, I modified the script picked up from the GPSfix.zip.

INSTALL INSTRUCTION
1. flash gpsfix.zip in cmw.
2. install autostart.apk, reboot your phone, and click yes when ask for root.
3. Put the autostart.sh to /data/opt (you have to create opt folder yourself),reboot
4. use angrygps.apk for settings(mebased,cold start,sulp.nokia.com,7275) and testing.

Yes and no only cm7 based Roms which include cm7 miui omfgb the cm7 trigger etc see if its cm7 based and you are good.

Strange, GPS has worked for me just fine on MIUI since 1.9.2. Sometimes GPS won't activate (satellite icon won't appear), but a reboot has always fixed it.

I was thinking the same thing. Ever since I've been using MIUI I have had a working GPS. I didn't know GPS was broken on MIUI.

Same exact issue I'm having with MiUi.
GPS fails to activate/engage(sat icon does not appear)... unless I reboot then GPS works.
Anyone know why, or a possible fix?

Every gpsd I've used in my own fix or any other fix seems to be really sensitive to lock-failures - if you back out of an app that's trying to get a fix, for some reason gps never comes back online.
If I can get a fix first thing, this seems to never happen.

I think you're right, that has been my experience as well.
Regardless, it's reassuring to hear I'm not alone!

To everyone who said there GPS has always worked on miui, has your navigation worked too? Because my phone knows where I am if I'm still but never moving.
And I have been on miui since they have said to have had working GPS and the only think that worked for me is the cm7 fix. Well until 1.5 came out.

I hope someone figues out a fix. I really hate rebooting to get GPS to work.
You know what also was working since last night. I downloaded ADVANCED TASK KILLER, and killed everything, and it had the same effect as rebooting. The built in task killer in miui does not have the same effect. This ATK trick was working up till about 10 mins ago when my GPS wouldn't come on no matter what! I was forced to reboot. Other than that the ATK trick worked. You know what else....I found going into App manager...finding the APP GPStest and clearing the user data for some reason has the same effect as rebooting also, makes GPS in Maps work.
Strange observations I know.

[Q] CM9 Build 7 sound issues

Hi all im having to post here because i dont have permission to post in development thread.
I have been using cm9 for few days went from build 5 to 7 yesterday and i have an issue with both builds, after a while my sound just goes i cant hear phone calls youtube videos or games sounds. As far as i know all sound has gone even woth volumes turned right up. I have searched the forums and cant find anything on this issue, anybody else have it/know how to fix it. The only way i can get sound back is rebooting. Any helo much appreciated

was it working fine on Sammy's ROM?

yes i have never had an issue until using cm9. i think the microphone stops working too. i think it maybe when i try using the spirit fm app would this make sense? im not going to try the app now and see if it happens again. i thought that app should work?

Well, i think that's not a hardware issue to be worried about & don't mess with unknown and bugged up apps .
Why not try a re-flash (wipe cache & factory reset ) of BUILD8 ? If that doesn't also solve the issue then try Odin re-flash back to 2.2/2.3 and then again CM7.1 [with a Modem flash] to CM9 ?

Screen wont rotate, is accelerometer broke?

Hi, for a month now my droid 4 has had a problem where the screen will not rotate when the phone does. I have done a full wipe/reset, upgraded to jelly, and shook it a little yet the screen still will not rotate.
Is there any way to see if the accelerometer is working so i can tell if its a hardware problem or software problem? Is there anything i can do to fix it if it is a hardware problem, because i dont think verizon will accept a return or exchange

Do you have auto rotate enabled?
Most likely this is your problem. Disabling auto rotate will force your phone to portrait mode.
Auto rotate can be found on settings>display
Make sure there is a checkmark in auto rotate.

I'm not OP, but I'm using Cyanogenmod 10, nightly build 4/28 or so. I kept updating to see if it got fixed and hasn't for as long as I've had the phone, month. I just saw in the dev forum that using build 1904 with a replacement kernel file it would work, but my phone won't boot into cyanogen anymore. I'm currently trying to fix that issue now.
Anyone know how to fix the accelerometers in cyanogen 10 correctly?

I tried the replacement kernel, and it didn't fix the problem for me on Liquid-JB-v2.2 .

Fix for CM10 rom is scheduled for tonight.
Many roms on this forum are based on the CM10 rom so should slowly solve all of these issues. Keep an eye on the CM10 thread

One M7 Sprint lost status bar in Stock ROM

Hi all,
I had my One M7 Sprint for several years, i got an issue that it freeze while i'm using and reboot, then there is no longer appear the status bar. Beside that i got camera issue as well, open the camera app and it quit intermediately after that.
So strange that if i flash back to Jelly Bean or Kitkat, my phone worked again with no camera. The camera seem like cause by hardware issue. Sometime worked, sometime didn't.
Have anyone advise me about this issue?

Never heard of that, but if you want to really test the hardware, the best thing to do would be to run the RUU and then test it running pure stock. If you still have the issue, then I'd say it's most likely hardware, if not, then you'll be able to use the phone normally. Worth a shot I think.
